The words have might ✍️ #DailyInspiration
It all starts with self respect, self love, and self appreciation, not at a superficial level, but at a deep psychological level. Since your life is respect worthy, so is the life of everyone around you- no matter how much trouble they cause you. #TowardsBillionSmiles

People Like You & Me
If I talk to you long enough, sooner Or later we will run out of things to say. Then we will want to be clever; Cleverness being the popular way To keep the train of talk chugging along So we need not stop at the stations Of honesty and silence, those stations Being either too boring or too dreadful. But though cleverness is nice, It leaves me feeling depreciated. I prefer honesty or silence these days. So if I talk to you long enough We may get bored or lapse into silence But you mustn’t worry about it; It is from boring materials Like honesty and silence That houses, breakfasts, some poems, And whole continents of life Have been cobbled together By quietly desperate people. People as inconsequential And as beautiful as a church steeple. People like you and me.

The Unflinching Truth
Sometimes the truth really hurts, but sometimes, it’s better to let it cut you, because only when you’re cut open, you realize how beautiful you really are.
I’ve always found it hard to express my feelings as they are, to myself, let alone others. It’s been a struggle to discern the realities that surround me. Always been a dreamer and a wanderer in my mind; though I have been extremely lucky to have met some wonderful friends and family who’ve stuck by me all this while, and helped me remain grounded.
But today I want to explore what is ‘Trust’.
What does it mean to trust someone? What if you trust something or someone with your entire being, only to have it broken? Do you lock the door and occasionally peep out of the window to see what’s happening, or you keep the door open, simply trust yourself, and continue to create good causes in your own life?
Trusting another person is always a risk but I have often been a person who is quite open to taking that risk. Because I believe I have the best to offer, I think it’s true even for the others. Even if they don’t have the best to give, I believe they must have at least one good thing to share with me, something that I can trust.
Psychologist David DeSteno summed this up beautifully in his book, ‘The Truth About Trust’. He says,“More can be achieved by working together than by working alone. That’s why we trust — plain and simple. The need to increase resources — whether they be financial, physical, or social — often necessitates depending on others to cooperate.”
But what does one do when their trust is broken? Of course one experiences sadness and anger on the surface, but deep inside, I think one feels scared. Fear is like water, and just like water, it takes the shape of the vessel it is in. In short, it has many faces, but it leaves you feeling the same way in every situation. But what if we decide to not let this fear shake us? The anguish felt over any distrust will diminish and vanish in some time.
But even if my trust gets broken a million times, I wouldn’t stop trusting people. Because the kind of relationships one forms (based on trust), is a reflection of who he/she is, and if one continues to better himself/herself in every endeavour and become a person who trusts and can be trusted, will naturally attract the company of those who can be trusted in return. This conviction stems from a buddhist concept of, ‘oneness of self and environment’. After all, we all are a reflection of our souls, the shadow of our being, the pauses in between sentences, the behind the scenes gestures we make when no one is looking. Our lives truly are a mirror to our souls, with our minds featuring as the artists who bring the soul’s blue print to life.
So then trust is not a big deal at all. All it requires is a shift inside our hearts. Trust should be directed inwards. Trust your heart and your intentions. Reflect upon your actions. Understand you’re on the right path and be open to possibilities.
Also read this gripping piece on Brain Pickings which explores the various nuances of trust so beautifully.
Cheers,
M
When you start to know someone, all their physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in their energy, recognize the scent of their skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. That’s why you can’t fall in love with beauty. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. You can love it with your eyes and your body but not your heart. And that’s why, when you really connect with a person’s inner self, any physical imperfections disappear, become irrelevant.

Let Go.
Give me a piece of your heart, can you?
I'd take that and place it next to mine,
two broken pieces forming one whole.
But then again when I close my eyes,
I don't see you all mine,
I want this to fit,
but our shapes don't match.
There's a little left here, little there,
that edge still uncovered,
that tiny corner left broken.
But I still want this to be one whole,
based on a perfect memory I have of you,
that we both created, for each other, for us,
sacrificing a bit of our souls, in order to appear whole.
But as time fades and the months pass,
I can see them rusting away
and with a heavy heart I realize,
I gripped too tight, too soon.

A smile has the power to lift people's spirits and impart strength.
If emotions scare you, read this.
The general perception in the world today is that showing emotion is a sign of weakness. Putting on our guard is safe because it doesn't make us vulnerable, or the weaker one.
It's true, but it's also very sad.
Firstly because if we're constantly on our guard, we're living half a life. Being out there and exposing your soul to people is scary, but it's also liberating, makes you lighter, freer.
"Our mission is to become the brightest and most pure-hearted of all, regardless of our circumstances, and to live a life where we can declare that we're supremely happy"
These words by my mentor Dr. Daisaku Ikeda always remind me to have my heart in the right place. The rest will take care of itself, I think to myself.
If you're the one who cries too much and laughs even more, then embrace your sensitivity. It's a gift, keep it, use it to help others. The only thing that we should worry about is the purity of our intentions. What factors are driving our actions? Asking ourselves this question will open a lot of closed doors and expose us to new things about ourselves, good and bad both.
It's better to feel a hundred emotions and overwhelm ourselves than to feel a handful and not have anything come out of it really. Shutting doors to our hearts closes us even further. Opening the doors of our lives in turn invites new adventures, new people, new opportunities and a fresh perspective.
We all need to refresh ourselves from time to time.
So next time if you see someone sitting alone, tell that hesitant little voice in your head to keep 'shhhhh' and go and say hello. You never know how that encounter might help both of you, and what you may learn.
If you've been hurt, lay low and feel the pain, because a very famous author once said, "pain demands to be felt".
The Gosho states, "Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life and continue to chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, no matter what happens."
Regarding both suffering and joy as mere facts is a challenge but a challenge worth our time. Nothing is permanent, so be really grateful if things are flowing smoothly for you, and hopeful, yet grateful, if they aren't, for it could be worse.
Crush fear with the same heal that you use to advance forward in the direction of happiness, with confidence. Replace it with hope, determination and action, and use that as a base to construct your dreams into reality!
After going a full 360 degrees, my point is that if you stop feeling things, you shut your life to the infinite possibilities that lay in store for you. So take off that mask that you use to hide from the world and smell the fresh cold wintry air.
Make sure to wear nice boots though ;)

Mind: A Vapourizing Maze
The mind is a maze,
with thoughts dangling around the corners,
twirling in the corridors,
enticing the seeking mind.
I get confused, I get lost
searching for answers
in this never ending maze.
The aim is to break through these walls
and make them dissipate.
Let the twirling thoughts vaporize,
crystal clear, showering the rain of wisdom.
If the question is within me,
the answer too lies within,
hidden in the walls of this enchanting maze,
pushing me to seek more, search more, do more.
The revelation of doing something you thought you never could,
of winning over your inner darkness,
of not waiting for the moment, but creating the moment,
is riveting and addictive. Something I could get used to.
Creating a life of value,
living with honour, respect and pride,
having a goal bigger than myself,
a dream that lives even when I die,
is what I am working towards.
If I could master my mind,
and tame those twirls,
If I could move them at my will,
dissipate the walls,
I'd believe that's when I have won & truly lived.
