🦇 recommended this 10 chapter fic to me and I cried the hardest I've ever cried reading this. This is like very super angsty Hurt No Comfort fic (with an undisclosed MCD). I don't wanna spoil any more.

ouhh yeah we start off really angsty...
meichae's environment growing up are stark contrasts. as you know, oh-so-conservative south korea and freest-country-ever america. megan has been in an environment where being gay is okay (yo bars), she could experience homophobia, sure, but not in the level where yoonchae could. yoonchae, on the other hand, is in a country where being out of the norm isn't really as openly accepted. megan couldn't truly understand the weight on yoonchae's shoulder to represent south korea in katseye, hence "look it's too trivial for you now."
"oh my life's fallin apart" can be taken quite literally, yoonchae's life falling apart anyways.
"maybe no one will know if i disappear" on the other hand, can not. if THE yoonchae of katseye disappears there's no chance of people now noticing at all. the "i" in this context could be understood as her true self, the closeted gay that she is. maybe no one would really notice if yoonchae's being gay disappears.

does yoonchae want a future with megan? yes! can yoonchae have a future with megan? unlikely so
if she ends up with megan though, she still wants megan to be happy (obvi) - "i'll give you all my life, my seasons"
moving onto the second verse, it's megan singing to yoonchae this time
she understands, and supports yoonchae's decision to not date (nods. understanding!megan) because she knows how risky it is.
she's mourning what she could have had with yoonchae
"while the leaves withered away and grew again" is a really common metaphor to talk about time passing. "you have gone far away" no shit sherlock time passes and you can't be with her boooo/j
"i'll be pushing up daisies" is another exaggeration of how cruel time is. "pushing up daisies" is used when someone is dead and buried, their body decaying helps the flowers grow. this is quite literally they can't be with each other ever what the hell
maybe after death "and bring all the chances to here"
it's pretty much the same from yoonchae's part! this is the chorus
but the song just doesn't end here
this part could be sing as a duet me thinks, plus the chorus since it expresses the mutual yearning
"by your side i'll be your seasons" is like noting a fact. a year is made up entirely by seasons, which is saying if they are by each other's side they would be each other's everything
the "my love" at the end is isolated for a reason. it's like a call out to the other, arms outstretching to reach for something guarded by the barriers of the universe which is their "love"
