I don’t feel like deleting old discourse posts, so since it’s up: no, I do not affiliate nor call the “cult” on twitter my friends anymore. I think they’ve done harm to this community, and Michelle’s comments in particular were unforgivable. I can say that I put my friendship and trust in the wrong people.

What I want to do on this blog:

Upload the RAW Yashahime manga. I purchase this manga and then convert it to a format that it can freely uploaded: the reason my scans are watermarked is because I went through the effort to obtain this manga and did the work to make it available to others; I do not claim ownership over this IP, only my copies. I can provide the manga without a watermark on request, if you intend to use them for translation, coloring, etc.

Upload animage articles relevant to Yashahime.

Upload cleaned Inuyasha pages, with speech bubbles removed! I wanted to do this on twitter, but couldn’t find the time to do so. It’s just fun! I’ll probably do it in bursts of ten pages at a time.

Japanese fans voted Levi as the most popular anime character of all time. Besides that, Levi is also the second most popular anime character on MyAnimeList.

So for those unaware, Goo Ranking recently did a poll to try to determine the most popular anime characters of anime from the past 20 years! And in the Inuyasha side of things, we got representation in Kikyou and Sesshomaru! The only two Inuyasha related characters to make the list!

Do people generally prefer the Yashahime manga? Is it worth still watching the anime or just the manga?

A lot of people greatly prefer the manga for what they feel is better characterization and a more stable plot since it's not suffering from the most unholy, troubled production in the world and pretty consistent writing! There's a lot of people from all sides of the fandom (just to clarify this isn't just some ship war thing) that prefer the manga at this point. It's unfortunately not being translated monthly by Shounen Jump or anything in English, but Vol 1 of the manga came out not too long ago, and @ka-go-me translates the manga as well!

My ultimate question is this: have you seen the anime at all? Do you like it? there's a nigh-universal opinion by even Yashahime's most ardent defenders that it completely fell apart at the end, but my personal take is if you like it, go for it! It helps it's a completed story (at least presently............. listen I can dream can't I) so there's no waiting every month! And the manga is only at chapter 11 and updates monthly, so expect long waits.

I believe that S2 is mostly much better than S1 until the aformented ending, but I think if you give the anime a try and enjoy it that you wont' be too disappointed! Of course if you want to avoid a weird ending that's fine too asdf;klajsfjas

If you're interested, go for it! But definitely do check out the manga too if you wanna try something different! It's a manga adaption of an anime original, so like most mangas like that it's a pretty different take on the story that mostly just shares core themes and characters with different plot direction! Ultimately, that's all I can say. I think it's worth a watch, but if you're not digging it, unless you REALLY find something you like in yashahime ain't no shame in dropping out of it.

(Not that the manga is PERFECT mind you. RT herself once had a criticism it was focusing a bit too much on OG nostalgia and the inugang as opposed to the new cast in her opinion, which I personally agreed with, and I think there was a complaint at one point the plot seemed to be going nowhere. But looking at the raws of the last two chapters I think it's getting back on track!)

Hey so as much as a hot button this fandom can be, let’s please remember- with Season 2 just airing on Toonami starting today, there’s gonna be people in the tags who haven’t actually seen Yashahime Second Act yet! So even though S2 has been out, let’s please try to be courteous and tag spoilers in the tags despite it not being new for the sake of newer viewers!

god when you jump into a monthly manga RIGHT when it’s starting it’s so easy to forget how much of a long wait there is for content to build up someitmes like

the reason i haven’t been posting raws of the manga has just been bc IY/YH has been a low fandom interest for a few months (and due to my process like, i DO spend money to get the JP kindle manga) and while i’m jumping back NOW it just hit me after buying he shounen jump s issues since then like when i was done converting them it just hit me that holy shit it really IS just on chapter 11 what
