Mary: I miss Kitty.
Thomas: Well, you still have us.
Mary: It's not the same, Thomas! I can talk to Kitty about things that I can't talk about with you guys.
Captain: Like what?
Mary: Well, for instance, the annoying things that you both do.
Captain / Thomas: Mary!
Mary: See, I can't talk to you.
Hi I'm sorry but can I just say I love your art 😍 also if you wanted a question, what do you think Alison would have got each ghost for Christmas, assuming she got them all presents!
hiiiii!! awh thank you, that's so sweet 🥺💖 sorry my response has taken so long, it was tricky to think gifts up for some of the ghosts. some of these do go out on a bit of a limb!
cap: an antique enfield no.2 standard issue revolver, which alison puts in a display case for him. he's sad he can't use it of course, but finally just having it with him is like a missing piece being returned.
julian: a secondhand phone with a bunch of simple games on it. he throws a fit over it not being a smartphone and alison immediately regrets getting him anything at all - but he enjoys it despite his complaints.
fanny: alison goes hunting in the attic and finds a stack of old photographs of fanny and dante. after carefully sorting out all the ones with george in them, she has a few of the nicer ones framed for her.
pat: 80s nostalgia to the max. a big bulk box of 80s cassettes and vhs tapes, along with cassette and vhs players, which pat fairly goes wild over (think twist-it excitement levels but even more ramped up, because he knows sharing these will be less likely to cause a scrap).
kitty: I know she already got a snowglobe but I just really really want her to have her sleepover with alison! alison makes it really special too, building a blanket fort for them both, letting kitty describe what she'd wear to a ball if she could and drawing it for her, and indulging all her talk of romance and "eligible men".
mary: worry dolls. mary thinks that they're witchcraft at first - but alison explains that she can vent all her worries, fears and struggles to the dolls and imagine they're taking them away.
robin: a telescope. alison has to set it up for him, but he can see through it just fine to look at the moonah up close, which he is content to do for hours. he does think all the current names of the constellations are stupid though, and renames them all himself.
humphrey: books!! that's really the only thing I could think of for humphrey; most things would be quite useless for him, poor lad. alison makes sure that none of them are about beheadings, makes an extra effort to find his head when it's out of sight and enlists the help of the others to be more proactive when it comes to transporting him.
thomas: a leather-bound notebook and ink pen, so he can recite poetry to alison and have her write it down for him. I know this is a bit of a basic and predictable gift but I just think it's so sweet. he'd be so happy to have his verse written on a tangible page again, it'd be as though part of him could rejoin the living world through his poetry.
plague ghosts: audiobooks! it's so quiet down there and so separate from the rest of the house, so alison asks around to find out what they're all interested in and buys a bunch of non-fiction audiobooks on various topics.
Okay but who's idea was it not to tell me about Katy wix in a suit? I'm just sad that the photo is so low quality.
Alison: That's it! You're all grounded.
Alison: Robin, no chess for you.
Alison: Kitty, no seeing Mary.
Alison: And Julian... Is there anything you love?
Julian: Vengeance.
Alison: No vengeance for you.
Julian: I was going to say "I'll get you for this," but I guess that's off the table.
Kitty: Would you slap someone for a million pounds?
Alison: I'd roundhouse kick the Tory for free.
Mary: He made Kitty cry!
Thomas: Kitty always cries.
Kitty, crying: That's not true!
