Writeblr (re)intro!
Hello there! My old intro was getting pretty outdated and I'm not really working on the same wips anymore, so I thought it was grand time for a new one!
So hi! My name's Mel, I'm 20 and a uni student. I started writing when I was 11 (in French) but now I almost only write in English. The main genre I focus on is high fantasy, but I intend on trying my hand at pretty much anything :)
I love listening to music (it's actually a very big part of my writing process too), my favourite types are symphonic metal (Within Temptation my love) and orchestrals, but I'd listen to pretty much anything. I love reading too of course (my favourite book is The Priory of the Orange Tree, if anyone loves it too then feel free to DM me I'd love to ramble about it with you).
Feel free to tag me in any tag games, I'm super happy to do them! I'm just super slow at doing them, but I really like it :) also I will often participate in Tender Tuesday and/or Tunesday, Worldbuilding Wednesday, Storyteller Saturday and Tiny Scene Sunday so feel free to send in asks for those if you want :)
Okay enough about me, here are my main wips at the moment :D
Jahzara has been dancing for her entire life, and would like to keep on doing so, thank you very much. Her talent is widely known in her birth city of Karella, capital of the Realm of Anderell, so much so that she obtained the prestigious post of partner to the crown prince. But when the king is brutally murdered one night, she has to delve into her city's darkest secrets with her twin sister, the prince and their friends to uncover the truth. Was this assassination a petty act of revenge, or is it part of a much bigger scheme that could threaten the entire Continent?

In a world where the gods have been dead for millennia, the threat of war has been looming for decades between the kingdoms of Aurenne and Irenia. In Aurenne, Ashlinn 'Firevein' Raithe is the last of her family and intends to get revenge. With her outlaws group of friends, she designs a plan to spark the flame of war, so she can kick back and relax to watch everything fall apart, and that plan includes infiltrating the aurennean court during a masquerade ball. Meanwhile, in Irenia, the queen has just died, leaving princess Daphnee Renavan as sole heir to the throne. But when her father, the king, for some unknown reason, decides to marry her and refuses to change his mind, she is forced to run away from her home and head towards Aurenne, intending to try and keep the peace between the two kingdoms. One wants to watch the world burn, the other wants to save it. Of course they will meet. The real question is: should they?

Thanks to the mysterious golden threads of light that shoot from her fingers at her will, she has committed number of robberies and never been caught so far. Senyan Leng, a young botanist and citizen of Tiannji, capital of Anuūme, is perfectly happy studying nature and drawing it. He does dream of traveling his world to make his own atlas one day, sure, but he's young and so that can wait a couple more years. On the Sacred Isle of Kinara, Lujing has been living with the Seers for most of her life, honouring the One Goddess Hinaomi with their prayers and music. Seers do not leave the island unless they are banished from it, and Lujing does not intend to do so. The Isle is her home and holds her family. And finally, Yunalin, second princess of Anuūme, has now officially read all the books in the royal library and has dated pretty much every maid in the palace. There is only one thing she has desired all her life but does not have yet: a child. These four lives are going to change very soon. How so? In the far ends of their world, in two opposite places, two men have awoken. And it seems that an incredible power has also done so.

Found in a basket on a river and raised by a single woman in the village of Letvi, Erdeli knows there probably is something dark in her past, something that could explain her origins, as well as why any plant grows from her fingers and why one of her eyes has no pupil; but whatever it is, it cannot be darker than the looming shadows of the Forest on the edges of the village. Any child in the village, in the entire Realm, knows that to go too close to the Forest would be asking to be killed by the Fey. Only Fey hunters are qualified to face those creatures, at their own risk; however, ever since they lost the last war some centuries before, the Fey have retreated into their Forest and few have been exiting it, only to fall prey to the Hunters. But that changes when news of the king's passing reaches Letvi, and queen Aleksasha blames the assassination on the Fey. Hunters start flocking to the village, the human stronghold that is closest to the Forest, the people prepare to fight a seemingly invisible threat, and Erdeli begins to wonder where her particularities come from...

As far as the inhabitants of Aetherham are concerned, the Winding Star has always been there; better even: the gigantic, spinning, star-shaped structure suspended in the sky emits an energy that has been used to power technology for centuries. Seleste Risewell, 17, just like the rest of the population, doesn't have the faintest idea what the Star actually is and what there is inside of it, except that the Council (the city's governors) have complete control over the energy the Star emits and how people are allowed to use it. She spends her days kneading dough and sliding full platters of bread, buns & pastries in the ovens of the Eleventh Flour bakery, which seems a pretty decent and rewarding occupation to any normal customer. No-one would suspect her to be part of a rebellious organisation collecting information on the Star and planning to dispute the Council's exclusivity to its resources. And yet she is: with her long-lasting friend Byrde and their team leader Lucian, a vampire, they spend their nights running errands for the organisation leader, Sebastian Crogan, an eccentric noble with a clear obsession with the Star and its secrets; and upon meeting Louie, a sweet boy with a bizarre case of amnesia, they know they are ticking closer to making significant discoveries...

After beginning her career in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and sustaining an injury while on duty, detective inspector Robyn Desrosiers was dispatched back to her native town of Verdant Hills, British Columbia, to lead the local team, with her best friend Isabelle "Bluebell" Wilder as her sergeant. The both of them have been living there for 2 rather uneventful years, when Robyn is confronted with her very first murder case: Marin Delnovo, a young girl versed into occultism and spiritism, is found dead in the woods surrounding the town with her throat slit. Things get weird when all the evidence appears to point to a clear culprit, Delilah Kay: everyone in Verdant Hills knows that Delilah has been missing, and presumed dead, for the last 20 years...
