"No, we don't know that yet." He kept his tone level and calm, not taking his good arm from around her shoulders as he steered Kim towards the triage area.

His own thoughts were spiralling, so he could only imagine how hers were spinning out of control. It wasn't that he knew how to deal with this situation, but Petra has the distinct bitter feeling he had been in a scenario like this before. When Insomnia fell, and rational thinking took a backseat. Part of him knew the panic she was feeling, scrabbling for the next order or mission, but that wasn't what was needed now.

"You need to get checked over." No room for a discussion in that; he needed to do the same, as did the other survivors. "I get your head hunter too, but not right now. Right now, you get checked over and then we check on your dad."

"I'll speak with Kaleb and the others, figure out the numbers and names and that can be dealt with afterwards." He didn't say what he truly wanted to say; the dead were dead, they would still be so after they checked on the living first and stabilised the critical. in her head, she knew that he was right. there was no point in trying to get the other jobs done right now when folks were still hurt, including herself. if it were her dad in her place, and she was in petra's, she'd be frog-marching him straight to the closest medic to get a once-over. and knowin' him, he'd be the one tryin' to slip her grasp and find another job that needed doing.
