Honestly though, it's hard to make that part of your brain stop until you're satisfied.
I’ve been at work so long I think I’ve lost track of what day it is.
I suppose that’s what happens when you’re trying to avoid Beacon Hills’ special brand of crazy..
But that seems like a call for a break maybe?
I am almost there, fortunately. Actually I'm almost at home time and I plan to go home, crawl into bed and sleep for what will probably feel like a year.

Moonlight madness // Malia, Peter and Melissa
And she could not help it but the moon was like helping her because in one, the leather straps was finally broken and she was free. She stood up slowly, Peter near the exit door didn’t help so she needed all of her strength to move him and go into the woods, that’s the only way.
She growled at him and lunged ready to attack, of course right now she wasn’t thinking at all, she just wanted to get out of here, nothing more. So, she slashed him with her claws to move him and finally she could just run away and lost into the woods.
When Malia finally broke free, Peter pushed Melissa towards the bathroom, hoping that she would lock herself inside. Malia stood and walked to him. He stood in the exit way, knowing it wouldn’t end well. She lunged forward too quickly for him after so little sleep. Malia caught him in the side and she escaped.
He wanted to go after her, but he doubted he would catch her, especially since she had a head start after clawing at him. It wasn’t deep and already healing quickly, but he wouldn’t be able to stop her from doing anything. He pulled out his phone and texted some people who could hopefully help and keep an eye out for her. Not Derek, though. He’s chosen where he stands with Peter.
He sighed and wished everything would just stop being so awful this week.
She didn't fight him on it, already turning to sprint towards it when she felt Peter urging her along, flipping the lock behind her. She backed up a little but still stayed relatively close to the the door, straining her ears to figure out what was happening out there. It wasn't until she heard the footsteps and window being thrown open that she realised that Malia was gone.
Hoping she was actually right, she took a deep breath and tentatively unlocked the door and opened it. Peter was texting and she guessed it was to get someone to help with Malia- surely there were enough experienced wolves out there that it would be okay (she had no idea what was going on out there with the new Alpha in town.) It was then she caught sight of the wound in his side- already she could see the ends starting to pull together but it sparked concern in her nonetheless.
"Peter?" She asked, breaking the silence before stepping out of the tub. Without thinking much about her actions, she took his arm and guided him over to the bed- even though he was healing already she cleaned the wounds for him, "Stay put, okay? You should let these heal before you push yourself." It was rather weird- actually worrying about him. But she hadn't lied, fatherhood looked good on him and maybe having Malia to worry about would change him. It seemed to have given him a new perspective.

"Not strong enough because…everything was her fault" Anger. Yes, Anger was eating her slowly because thinking about the injuries is thinking about Kate Argent too and that’s why she was so angry right now, she almost die because of her and Tiffany was in danger too, she’s going to pay, she needs to look for Kate and kill her slowly "I’m going to kill her, she’s going to pay…" Malia spoke grunting. Her words made no sense but still, she felt bloodlust right now but for her blood, for Kate’s blood, nothing more.
This time, she gave up. Tried to unleashed her and then, looked at Peter with her blue eyes “You can’t stop me, you can’t…”
Malia was breaking. Hopefully the restraints would stay because if not, Malia would get free. “Come on, Malia, you can do this. Focus on the anger. Use it.” He had a bad feeling in his stomach that this wouldn’t work, though. The straps were straining under her fierce pulls. They might not hold.
Peter remembered how it felt to lose control. It was like a warmth spread out from the heart up through the throat and arms and legs. Shifting is actually pleasant, it’s just the fighting that makes it difficult. Pressing back against that warmth makes it feel hot, too hot. Or at least it was for him—he’s heard different descriptions from different people. He wondered what it felt like for Malia.
“Melissa, you might want to start moving towards the bathroom door,” He turned his head to face her and smiled, hoping to seem calm, “Just in case.” Except it wasn’t ‘Just in case’, it was definite.
He didn't exactly have the calming effect he might have been hoping for but she didn't out and out panic either. Slowly, carefully she made her way towards the bathroom door, making sure to keep Peter between herself and Malia just in case something were to happen. She even opened the door, though she didn't duck inside it just yet.
There was a curiosity about what he was doing too, what effect it would have. She remembered her own words spoken so firmly to Scott- be your own anchor -but that was an entirely different situation. She guessed that was different on a case-by-case basis too. Scott and Malia had entirely different priorities and Malia had also been through a lot that day.

She was finally contained in a kind of leather around her wrists and ankles but she could not help it, everything was really increasing with more intensity. Malia could feel the moon, the power of it and she feels that any moment she could just rip the leather and run into the woods all by herself and rip everyone’s apart.
"You need to leave" She growled looking at them, she was shifting "Both of them…" Like a coyote, her voice was a bit scratchy because she wanted to stay in control, be her own anchor or think about Kira, her new girlfriend and her first one, actually but for some reason, she just wasn’t thinking clearly and she knows that maybe she’s going to start and talk without even thing was she’s saying.
Peter could see Malia resisting the pull, but her resolve was getting weaker and weaker as the time passed. This wasn’t the first time he saw a difficult shift, the next stage was giving in. He knew from experience.
“Malia, focus on the pain,” he said, trying to get her to focus. It wasn’t the best anchor but for a moment’s notice it would have to do, “That pain from your injuries keeps you human, you can do this, I know you can. You’re so strong.”
He kept his eyes on Malia, but spoke to Melissa, “She might be right. If you’re going to leave, now might be the time.” He wondered what she would do—stay or go?
It wasn't that this wasn't unnerving- scary even. It was. She'd seen a lot lately but it didn't change that, or the fact that really she was not equipped to deal with a supernaturally charged being. But she didn't think she could just leave either and it was also probably best to be in the loop. Perhaps strangely, she also trusted that even if Malia were to break free of her restraints, Peter wouldn't let anything happen to her. There were a lot of things about him that she wasn't sure about but of that part, she was sure. Taking care of Malia was the highest priority (rightfully so,) but he would still protect her.
"I'm not going anywhere. I said I would help and that I would keep other nurses out. Besides, I think I would rather be up to date on what's going on. I can lock myself in the bathroom if I absolutely have to."
Alright, Melissa. And I would appreciate that—once the full moon is done and all.
We'll figure out a time when it is.

Mrs McCall was helping too but she didn’t want to hurt her, even if she doesn’t Scott anymore, her mom was a really nice person and she was demonstrating that with helping with all of this. Melissa could get a private room and here they are, in that room. The sun had gone down and now the moon was getting up, she could feel it, like the last time. Was really awful because every full moon she remember what she did to her mom and little sister, she couldn’t help but she always remember that day.
"Okay, let’s do this" Malia says ready to be retained by the chains that they had in there. But then, something happened. Involuntarily her claws began to come out, her eyes turned blue and a growl escaped her lips "…Hurry, I can’t…stand it anymore..:" She was trying so hard to not lose control but sometimes was really impossible for her.
Thankfully Melissa was so prompt with the restraints and had brought them earlier on. If she hadn’t, well, Peter’s not going to want to know how much more terrible it would have been. Just when they were about to use them, Malia started shifting.
Peter hurried to hold her down with one hand and attach the straps made out of some kind of leather with the other. Idly he wondered where Melissa found them—maybe somewhere in the basement or in a supply closet. Managing to restrain Malia proved difficult what with her incredible strength, but Peter used the full moon and his experienced control to his advantage to do it.
When he was done with both wrists and ankles, he stepped back and breathed heavily for a moment. He’s too old for this shit. He wondered what Melissa thought of it all—it’s not as though this is an everyday occurrence for her. He turned to look at her to determine the answer.
The private room hadn't been too hard to organise- finding the restraints had been slightly harder but the hospital did keep a supply for certain situations. Of course, Melissa's main concern was that they wouldn't be nearly enough to contain a werecoyote not in total control of her shift. She was also a little worried that this was going to get noisy. She'd tried to pick the private room furthest away from any nurses station and had made it clear to leave it to her so hopefully things would work out okay.
Once the claws started coming out, she thought it wise to get out of the way, however. She had made sure the restraints were ready to be put on but let Peter handle locking the girl into them. She was a mixed bag of emotions- for the most part she had always known Scott to be in control of his shift. There were only a few occasions she could remember when she had needed to worry and she'd never personally witnessed him being restrained.
Mostly though, her face showed concern- worry. The hope that they would get through just one night without something going terribly wrong. She tried not to let herself thing about a scenario where those restraints weren't enough- even though she knew full well that they might not be. They were the best she could do on short notice. Noticing Peter's eyes on her she managed a small smile and forced herself not to voice the question she was trying not to think about.
Are you asking me out on a date, Melissa?
I-no? I'm asking.. as a friend and fellow parent of a supernatural teen if you would like to get a friendly coffee.
I—thank you. I don’t know what to say other than that. I don’t think I’m doing a good job of it, but your compliment means a lot.
I know this is a wildly inappropriate moment to ask or offer but.. if you're interested in more advice- maybe you'd like to go for coffee? After we've dealt with everything full moon related and whatnot, I wouldn't expect to tear you away now.
I know, but thank you, this means a lot to me, Melissa. Whatever restraints you find need to be strong, this isn’t going to be easy. I’m so exhausted, I don’t know how you manage all of this daily.
It's not easy but.. you do it. And I will find the best I can, I promise. I will do everything I can to make sure we keep her safe and contained. And uh.. Peter? Fatherhood.. looks good on you.

I could be worse, I suppose. Malia’s alive, Tiffany is… I don’t know. They haven’t come to talk to me yet. I need to figure out what I’m going to do for the full moon and I haven’t even spoken to Derek yet.
They're both getting the best possible care, Peter. They'll be alright. And... as for the full moon, I'll do whatever I can. I'll make sure Malia is in a private room and.. if there's anything else I can do, let me know.
