hey lovely people, i hope you’re all okay. it’s been such a long time since i was active and writing, but i still think about all the great times i had with this fandom. so much has changed recently but i really do miss the fandom life. i wouldn’t know where to begin now though to try and come back in.

You, who doesn’t know how to spell a word because you’ve only heard it spoken, but never seen it written. You, who stuffed your work in the attic drawer. You, who saved your story inside a chain of files so nobody would read it by accident.

I’m basically going onto a semi-permanent hiatus. Recently I have stepped away from fandom of most kinds, and away from Tumblr and blogging in general - don’t worry, life is good and I’m okay, I just needed a break.

If you want to unfollow because this blog will not really be active much for the near future, then please feel free and feel no guilt.

I may return one day depending on whether I get sucked back into another fandom to this extent, but for now, it’s staying quiet, with maybe only the occasional post every so often.

Love you guys, you’ve all been amazing over the last few years, and I’m still on messages if anyone wants to talk, or you can follow my personal blog <3

Fandom Rant

You know what annoys me?

When someone spends say, a week, sometimes more, working on a one-shot, and they get it to the stage where they think it is written well, finished, and works for the scenario, so they post it.

And nobody gives any form of kudos or comment.

To spend so much time on something, and to get maybe 18 kudos and 1 comment out of 300+ views?

That’s saddening. 

And as an artist you know in your heart that you worked hard on it, and you thought it was good, and that a lot of people have seen it. But getting zero recognition, getting no comments or constructive criticism or even a like/kudos, that tells me one thing - pretty much nobody enjoyed it.

Which then makes me think - why should I bother writing for a fandom if nobody within it enjoys what I write? I should just stop, and move on to something else. And knowing in your heart that the thing you’ve worked hard on isn’t terrible and that it would be nice if more than 10% of people could spend less than two seconds to click kudos or comment when you’ve spent potentially days working on it? 

And this isn’t something that is just within the Philinda fandom, and it didn’t used to be the case last year, but it seems to be happening more and more recently. It’s disheartening to see others who you know have really worked on something receive no credit for their efforts.

So yeah, my 1:30am rant is done.
