Cant believe that Coulson pulled May out of a desk job by telling her he only wanted her to drive the bus, and then a year later she’s a mum of three, where two of her children almost exclusively talk about things she can’t understand and her third child literally has earthquake powers

one of my favorite parts of philinda is that they are not each other's one true loves. audrey nathan was the first love of phil coulson's life, and then he died. rosalind price was the second, and then she died. he had beautiful, fulfilling, meaningful relationships with both of them. may is the third love of his life, because even though he's loved her for so long, they don't find their way to each other until they're both living on borrowed time.

and then there's andrew. the first love of may's life, and one of coulson's trusted friends. regardless of the issues in their relationship andrew never treated her with anything other than love, compassion, understanding, and total respect. they could've found their way back to each other if he'd had a different story, i do believe it. just as with audrey and rosalind.

there is something deeply significant and worth rooting for with both of coulson's other pairings and with's may's. and something about that makes their love even more special to me.

fitzsimmons are the fated-by-the-stars, it-was-only-ever-going-to-be-you-and-me relationship of the show, and they do it better than perhaps any other couple in modern media. philinda does something different, and i love that.
