AU with emduo being two ruthless conquerors taking over the world- wilbur being their heir from the beginning because he’s Phil’s son (and he’s also a bit of a spoiled prince since he’s grown up alongside having most of the world be taken underneath Phil and Techno’s banners)

Emduo both kill off whichever kings they come across while taking over kingdoms, and in the final kingdom they approach, Tommy is who they find nervously sitting on the throne awaiting his inevitable execution. Except Tommy isn’t even the actual king. He’s not even royalty. He’s a servant boy who got forced to act as a false ruler in order to buy time for the actual king to get away.

Emduo break into the castle expecting to face and kill their final obstacle to having the entire world in their palm and they find this teenager on the throne insisting that he is the king- even though he’s clearly not. Their reports did not describe him this young. He cannot be the guy they’re hoping to execute. Where is the actual king?

And Tommy just refuses to admit it or give up the act, not for any sense of loyalty to his kingdom or anything, but because he’s FREAKING the FUCK out and is utterly convinced that he’s about to die a horrible death either way, no matter what he says. What would two powerful conquerors care about a servant boy standing in their way? He’s stalling for his own time. He’s lying about everything and anything. He’s rambling and saying nonsense about being some newly crowned prince and he knows it’s bullshit and they know its bullshit but he’s dragging it on for as long as he can while also eyeing the exits while hoping that Technoblade won’t behead him in the next minute.

Eventually Emduo realize they’re maybe laying on the intimidation a bit too thick and try to take a step back- and Tommy BOLTS for it. Which is a poor decision because he’s currently their only lead as to where the actual king has fled. So obviously they follow after as he runs for his life through castle halls he knows far better than they do, and then they inevitably lose him, and they inevitably are like ok. All hands on deck we need to FIND this kid- and tommy the entire time is still thinking he’s going to get brutally killed
