Rebecca was grateful when the other girl helped her collect the rest of the papers that went flying around. “Of course it would happen to me in the real world,” she chuckled, getting the papers sorted. “The universe likes to work in funny ways and all that. But a sudden jostle caused her to trip and the papers to go flying. She looked to the girl nearby in desperation as she started going after them. “Would you mind helping me grab these?”

sahar had been happily sucking on a sugar quill, engrossed in thought about her next quidditch practice. of course it was only fair that she’d be placed on reserves considering she wasn’t actually a hogwarts student, but she still imagined herself whizzing around the pitch during a game and the hum of the crowd lost to the wind in her ears. she was abruptly pulled from her fantasy by another girl, quickly leaping into action after each flying scrap as though they were golden snitches.
“ anotha one! ” she cheered, doing her best dj khalid impression upon snatching another sheet out of the wind.
once she gathered what appeared to be all of the flying paper that the other girl hadn’t, treating it like a quidditch match, sahar marched up to her and handed her a small stack. “ i’ve literally only ever seen that happen in movies. ”

sahar suddenly felt nostalgic for the last time she was in the three broomsticks, only two weeks prior, sat cramped around a small, circular table with her friends complaining about the amount of wix in the pub. that was nothing compared to today; the three broomsticks was bursting with hogwarts students, a third slightly famliar to the foreigner, two thirds entirely strangers. sahar shouldered her way past the throngs of wix milling about, forcing herself to the front and looking like she lost a fight with a doxy on the way. quickly sliding into a freshly vacant seat at the bar, she ordered a pint and tipped the barmaid generously out of pity.
“ this shit is more packed than times square on new years, ” she said to the boy sat next to her. “ there’s, like, serious lion king stampede potential here. ”

she also has a private finsta (meme instagram) followed solely by wix dedicated to shit posting of various nature. funny selfies, videos around new york and ilvermorny, rants & personal feelings, quidditch, memes about professors and other houses/schools, you name it, it’s there.
she also has another public instagram dedicated to slime. this one is not registered under macusa (which is highly illegal) but can’t be directly connected to her. it literally just features asmr style videos of slime and the most you see of her is her hands. this account has 10k followers and she’s very proud of that.
finally, she has a third public instagram dedicated to cookie reviews. with this account, anywhere she is able to purchase/consume a cookie, she’ll post a photo of it with an in depth (and humorous) review of the cookie and the locale. for obvious reasons, magical locations are not photographed nor disclosed; instead, she’ll post a selfie of her with the cookie and refer to the cookies as made by friends and family.

she participated in the inter-school exchange program and chose to study abroad at hogwarts for a term and was sorted into slytherin house for the term. having done her homework on hogwarts before arriving, she was really expecting to be sorted into gryffindor. however, she’s far enough removed from european wizarding politics and history that she knows bits and pieces about the wizarding wars and voldemort and, while she’d obviously support the order, hasn’t thought much for it her entire life as it never pertained to her or north american wizarding politics and history.
pig-headed: ‘ stupidly obstinate; stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so. ’ once she’s made up her mind about something, it’s very difficult to get her to change it. this goes for opinions, goals, and things as trivial as schoolyard rivalries.
melodramatic: ‘characteristic of melodrama, especially in being exaggerated, sensationalized, or overemotional. ’ she basically acts like everything is the end of the world if something goes slightly wrong and she’s known for exaggerating people, events, and the world around her.
loud: ‘ producing or capable of producing much noise; easily audible. ’ the girl’s got LUNGS on her and it’s obvious not only from her screaming during quidditch and quodpot matches, but even during gobstones tournaments or even just speaking. she’s almost incapable of whispering and her classmates suspect it’s hearing damage from growing up in quodpot stadiums.
passionate: ‘ showing or caused by strong feelings or a strong belief. ’ one can never say that sahar doesn’t have spirit. she’s passionate about everything, whether it be things she loves/believes in or things she rejects; grey zones hardly exist for her and tend to confuse her and send her in a limbo between intensely loving/supporting the thing and absolutely hating the thing.
determined: ‘ processing or displaying resolve. ’ she has goals in mind for everything she does and she refuses to acknowledge a future in which her goals aren’t met. her biggest goal is becoming a skilled and famous quidditch player known for her own name and not as quentin kowalski’s daughter or aviva meisel’s daughter, as the press likes to refer to her as. she hates that people believe she’s either a) cut slack/over praised for her skills solely because of who her parents are (and subsequently criticize her playing for the smallest reasons and denounce her skill altogether) or b) given opportunities solely because of her parentage and not because of her talent. she hates that people dismiss her talent and wants to prove everyone wrong and achieve her quidditch aspirations without the help of her parents.
outgoing: ‘ friendly and socially confident. ’ she’s got a large group of friends at ilvermorny as well as no-majs back home in new york because she isn’t afraid to approach people. she loves talking to people and socializing.
