Look, another character? Another character. It’s Jinx again with Alice Fortescue.

Childhood started off as a dream for Alice. Being close with both of her parents, and spending most of her time learning trades from them, she felt like she floating on cloud nine. Having a little sister like Pandora made Alice even happier than she could ever imagine. Growing up in Galway with all the life around them, the world was theirs. The girl was so effervescent, that people were drawn to her light, to her kindness, to her free-spirited nature. Alice had always been particularly close with her dad who brought back souvenirs from his missions as an Auror, and the world around her, the unknown was something she wanted to discover. When her was dad away on missions, her mom would instill these ideals in her on how to be a kid, lifeskills, just fun things about magic, playing in the garden, things for the soul. When her dad came back her mom stepped back while he taught Alice how to do martial arts, how to hold a wand properly, how to wand formations, about history, everything she could know. What her father did though, Alice started asking question after question until she was absolutely convinced that being an Auror was now her calling as well – all at the age of five. Alice was a naturally kind child, and the reason she was so drawn to the profession of being an Auror is because it was driving some sort of darkness away. It wasn’t just her who wanted that goal either because other people wanted to be Aurors as well – she was part of something bigger than herself.

Alice wasn’t alone in thinking her dreams were wonderful and that’s what made her parent’s relationship beautiful, how they balanced each other out, wanted the same things even if they were different. Alice is still pureblood and from a wealthy family, she still had privilege, even if she is a known blood traitor but she valued this concept greatly. Everyone in her family did. Together they were this perfect, balanced family unit up until the age of nine until everything fell apart. At age eight, when her mother announced she was pregnant, Alice was over the moon, until something went wrong. When her little brother was born, he was a stillborn, and it devastated both of her parents. While her father was able to move on from the loss, her mother withdrew from her daughters & husband, staying in her room, and separating herself from them. Alice tried everything she did to help, to get through to her mother, but there was nothing she could do. Alice knew they had to move forward, that she couldn’t be like her mother, and had to be there for her younger sister to continue on. 

After her mom’s stillborn child is when Alice really had to learn to have the emotional & mental capacity to learn to take care of herself, to deal with her emotions, and soon she felt obliged to take care of her mom.  Alice & Pandora were their surviving children, who were spoiled rotten, and never had to go through anything relatively traumatic until there was this one gigantic thing where it was either – they soothed themselves or they fell apart. Alice would not fall apart, so she internalized it all and felt like she had to shoulder all of the burden of balancing out the household when her dad decided to go on more missions while her mom withdrew for those two years ( and for many years after ) before she went to Hogwarts. It still was never perfect but it was the best a 10 year old could do, and really, it wasn’t what a ten year old should’ve been doing at all. For both her and her sister, Florean’s became an escape and a safe haven. When her dad was there, it was like walking on eggshells, which is why there was so much time spent outside the house, but Alice got a break. A well deserved break where she was allowed to focus on herself, where she forced herself to, almost as if she was recharging her battery. When it was just Alice, Pandora and they mom, she paid almost all the attention she could feeling the pressure pile on top of her, while still furthering her own goals as an escape. Soon, Alice became an escapist, literally in some senses, to survive living there – something that has lasted well throughout her teen years. Before, when Alice’s goals and dreams were often talked about in passing as just a common topic, were now taboo. She had to force her dreams inward, she had to keep going and motivate herself when it was just her, Pandora and her mother. Her sister was her guiding light, a reason she stayed so anchored & so balanced. A reason she kept moving forward. Her ambition, her wanting to become an Auror anchors her, and while she doesn’t know if she can always depend on herself – Alice always knows she can depend on being an Auror. Just as Doctors can depend on the fact that there will always be sick people, Alice can depend on the fact that people die, people change, there’s always a Dark Wizard lurking around every corner & that the war is tearing apart people’s lives every day – it’s the ugly truth.

When she got to Hogwarts, there was a part of her that was surprised that she was put into Slytherin. Even if Alice did fit into the house like a glove, knew that her ambition to be an Auror was probably the reason she was placed in it the first place, the other houses like Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw appealed to her. The first year away from her sister, Alice wrote her almost ever day and cried weekly when she was away from her sister worried that she’d feel the same burden of living with their mom that she did. Worried that Pandora would need more help than she could get ( though, Pandora was PERFECTLY functional & on top of things, it was all anxiety that consumed Alice ). She found herself spending more and more time with Ravenclaws & Hufflepuffs, which cultivated more of an open-mind, and while she did well in school, Alice often daydreamed quite a lot. On occasion even used recreational drugs like pot ( & LSD ), because she just had to experience everything – the world was so big, so vast, and although there were some parts – mainly the blood prejudice she witnessed – that were ugly, the rest was so fantastic. 

RANDOM BULLET POINTS:

Is a dog person over a cat person, literally loves dogs so much and has been trying to get Hogwarts to let her dog in.

Is very short and tiny but can kick your ass EASILY. trained in martial arts and has a very strict exercise regime that she follows everyday!!

doesn’t talk about her problems, if you can get her to talk about her problems you’re doing more than I even can. She’s very much due to fall apart any minute now or just have a good cry but she’s compartmentalized so much so GOOD LUCK.

Sees the good in people because she believes that a lot of people can be better than they actually are being, especially in her house. Will often challenge people gently around her.

Also likes to fuck w/ people who are blood prejudice by being extremely calm w/ them. Unless you threaten her friends/call them slurs. More often then not Alice will just calmly fight the bigoted logic and has to really REALLY try hard not to punch them in the face

Is very into physical platonic affection!!!!

Dyes her hair different colors and is ETERNALLY unhappy with her hair. She’s always fussing around with it, always changing it and doesn’t know what to do with it. Alice’s natural hair color is a really dusty blonde, I’d even say a dirty blonde. She really loves to experiment with it though, so she’ll cut it and dye it all sorts of colors - from neon green to brown. From a pixie cut down below her waist. Anything and everything. Sometimes, in an attempt to just get out of her own head and escape for a bit, cutting & coloring her hair is fun and gives her some of a respite. She knows it’s just hair and it’ll easily grow back with a hair potion and just does it as a way to cope with not feeling completely comfortable in her appearance. She also does ridiculous makeup, sometimes adorning very shimmery glitter all across her eyelids and wearing funky socks that don’t always match her uniform. Sometimes she prefers to wear pants instead of a skirt, and puts pins of all sorts up and down her tie. Alice also owns an extensive sunglasses collection that she tries to wear on weekends or just times when she’s outside & the sun is out. In more modern times or times where she’d have access to more knowledge about the LGBT/queer community, she’d identify as non-binary but at the moment she’s very in the dark and just believes it to be her being very self conscious. I could see if she was introduced to this knowledge and educated, she’d be able to self identify as she’s already aware that she’s not straight at all, but until then she’s sort of in the dark. It would be a lovely thing to see though as the RP progresses if someone could educate her or point her in the right direction!

Is very underestimated I imagine?? And definitely lets her own skill speak for itself ( unless you piss her off she’ll occasionally talk a big game lmfao ), but until the second half of this year was much more free spirited and now is very much stressed and just much more serious.

SAM CLAFLIN? No, that’s actually LUCIUS MALFOY from the MARAUDERS ERA. You know, the child of ABRAXAS MALFOY and HEMERA ROWLE? About to begin SEVENTH YEAR,this SLYTHERIN student is sided with THE DEATH EATERS. HE identifies as CIS-MALE and is a PUREBLOOD who is known to be BIGOTED, ENTITLED, and PATRONISING but also METICULOUS, FAMILY ORIENTED, and RESPONSIBLE. 

meet lucius. the biggest douchebag in the world. last time i played him he got punched my three different people and it was too little. 

Lucius is born to two parents who have little in common besides their love for their son. That love, however, differs greatly. While his mother’s love is simple and unconditional, his father’s more complicated. Abraxas Malfoy, ever the politician, sees Lucius as more as a pawn in his plans for his family, than a son to love and support. The idea of Lucius is something he loves more than he loves his son.

Luckily, for all of them, the Malfoy heir turns out to be a perfect one. With his father’s natural charm and leadership abilities, as well as his sharp tongue and dark mind, he’s perfect for the plans that his father has for him. What is a surprise, however, is that Lucius also inherits his mother’s loyalty and ability to care. From a young age, he already is a perfect mix of his parents: cold and calculated, while also family-oriented and loyal. In the end, it makes him so much stronger.

And so, Lucius Malfoy grows up spoiled and loved. His childhood is not perfect, as it’s clear to his observing eyes that his parents do not love each other. Why, he doesn’t know – romantic love is an obscure to him, then – but he hears their fights and sees their glares. In his years before Hogwarts, he learns about history and languages and music – his mother makes him play the violin, an instrument he becomes quite skilled at. He is thrilled to go to Hogwarts when he turns eleven – there is more to learn there, you see – and is sorted in Slytherin almost immediately when he arrives there. There, he flourishes.

As he grows up, the world changes. He follows every development with great interest, and most often with great support. The rise of blood purism is nothing but a good thing to Lucius, you see, and his father encourages him to be in the know of what is happening. His father is not part of the movement they call Death Eaters, but he’s not innocent, that much Lucius knows. The rumours that he’s behind the illness of former Minister – who happened to be muggleborn – are true, and Lucius is aware. He only admires and respects his father more for it and learns that planning out things carefully is much more effective than reckless action.

Lucius has been living up to his father’s dreams ever since the day he was born, but it’s not because of his father any more. Those dreams are now his own. He has many great plans for himself, many ideas for his future that he is working for so hard. Lucius is ambition instilled in a person, demanding success with hard work and cunning ways. He is a successful student – a prefect and member of the slug club, as well as the earner of many OWLs– and is promising to be an even more successful graduate. 

Lucius demands respect but doesn’t give it to most people, as he’s entitled and spoiled and thinks himself above a large amount of people. There are a few he does hold a lot of respect for, though, and he’s endlessly loyal towards them — cross them, and you cross him, and once Lucius gets angry, he doesn’t back down easily. The Malfoy heir might come off indifferent to many things, but in reality he does feel most things quite deeply: he’s simply learned how to compartmentalize his emotions perfectly and to use them to his advantage, rather than have them control him. Now in his seventh year, he’s ready to graduate and start his career (which is already looking more than promising) as well as take the Mark. He’s not questioning whether he should join the ranks, knowing that he has no choice and that even if he did, this would be the right one.

Growing up the youngest out of three, the only girl, in a conservative Jewish Pureblood family was what Marlene knew. She had a happy childhood, easily, but one that was extremely sheltered. So much so, she wasn’t aware that muggles really existed ( despite having a few in her family tree – which is why she’s Jewish ). Having a family that was perfectly nice, perfectly happy with each other and encouraging of Marlene’s curiosity to an extent was perfectly nice. She read every book she could get her hands on in their cottage by the sea in Eastborn. She explored the beaches, the grounds, people watched from afar. She dressed up for Pureblood parties and fucked around with James Potter at them, already over everyone being so cordial and prim. Her brothers and her loved each other, Andrew the oldest was Quidditch obsessed and Michael the middle boy was an artist. Her life before Hogwarts was like clockwork, the cogs in the machine were moving perfectly and Marlene grew tired of it. She made trouble by asking question after question, none of which were really answered by her parents. The books weren’t enough, she’d read them a few times over. The countryside was beautiful but she wondered was was beyond the sea line. Infinitely curious, Marlene wanted to know more, craved to know more and when getting to Hogwarts – she was sorted into Ravenclaw for this very reason.

Marlene was angry when she realized how much her parents had hid from her. How much they’d neglected to tell her. How much they had limited her. If there was anything she realized she hated, it was not knowing, so she absorbed all the information she could from possibly everyone she could. After she saw the prejudice towards muggles, muggleborns & halfbloods a fury was born. How could they not tell her what the world was actually like, warts and all? How could they not tell her the world was not just friday night dinners, books, neutrality and quietness? Marlene, who came to Hogwarts questioning, loud, and observant went home questioning, loud and furious. How could you! How could you not do something about what was happening in the world! How could you not tell me how fantastic muggles were! Her parents had no answers simply because they were just ignorant. Marlene refused to act like things were okay when they weren’t, she refused to stand still look pretty for her parents at pureblood events, to be anything but a storm when there were women & people around her she saw were so oppressed – that became her rebellion. Her disconnect from them. She took it too far, it was an extreme but she needed to be what she was to pave a path. It was something she knew she had to do and it was how Marlene McKinnon, the BURNING comet kerosene sapphire girl was born.

There was so much she had to make up for, and so much she was willing to learn. Her muggleborn friends were promptly questioned about their lives, her halfblood ones too. Anyone who dared to hurt them or hurl insults at them – Marlene didn’t allow. She shot off at the mouth, easy, at the bigots she seemed to find so many of. BLOOD TRAITOR, she wore the label proud because she was standing up for what she believed in. Marlene would spend time learning how to duel, perfecting her technique, doing her schoolwork and receiving near perfect grades, drinking copious amounts of coffee because she loved it but also because it helped her to keep on going. Marlene was rude, but fun, and sometimes you had to tip toe around her. Mold to HER. She demanded presence, and that’s what was rebellious about her – she was a different kind of woman than the one she should’ve become based how she was raised, a huge feminist, she made people apologize to her first and she wouldn’t dare swallow her pride. Marlene was determined, would go around picking fights because she could and thought that pureblood bigots in particular needed to be knocked off their pedestal ( maybe just so she could stand on it – or help other women, other oppressed people do so ), she never hid that she loved girls and boys be damned what anyone else thought. That’s why she was rebellious, not because she partied, did drugs ( which, was limited to pot due to Qudditch and now underground rebel group ), and other various other things. She chained smoked off the ledge of the Astronomy Tower when she needed to stop and gain some clarity.

While some of her housemates lived in shades of grey, she didn’t, in fact, she quite resented it having the sort of black and white mentality she has. But, she could enjoy the challenge because she always needs a challenge. Marlene feels the only way she’ll learn, truly learn and at all understand this war is if she makes things harder on herself. She wants to see the grey, but there isn’t time for it when there’s a war based on blood status brewing around her. Even if she neglects to make proper boundaries, even if she neglects so much, this is who she is, it’s who she has to be. It’s the only way she feels she can make up for her own blood in a sense, for her own privilege as well as protect her friends – by making herself a target of sorts. It’s odd because with this combination you’d think that she would be somewhat lost in the world, it seems like she gives so much to her friends but really, she’s not at all lost in it which is something a lot of people her age can’t say. With this, Marlene has cultivated a strong sense of self – she is true. You can never say that you do not know who Marlene McKinnon is, but more importantly, she never strays from being herself.

in the future in the order, i see marlene being a strategist, she is observant and able to read people well if she tries and she’s able to assess strengths and weaknesses. her brain moves a million miles a minute and she’s able to see ninety scenarios before they happen, so it makes her a good strategist. she’s a very good dueler too but she’s got an excellent brain that’s often overshadowed by her ….. fucking loud ass mouth

he’s very contrary. like he will say the opposite of what he wants to sayy. ex. if he actually likes someone, he will pretend he doesnt. and he likes to make people mad because it’s funny to him???

family wise: he’s very family oriented and pays special attention to his sibling and his parents.

being an ollivander’s sonn he did pick up wandmaking from his dad and grandpa. he likes to carve the designs in the wood which with his aesthetic tastes they are quite pretty.

his fam is a bit mixed up. he was born in south korea to a muggle teen mom who despite their families attempts at getting her to terminate the pregnancy powered on by herself and raised him in the most loving way. she met varrick II by chance and fell for him even though he was a wizard and they brought the two families together to settle in brazil when he was 7 though they moved to london just before his first year at hogwarts. they’re a very happy family and very supportive of each other and had added a brand new addition to the fam who is the apple of alex’s eye and will most likely be brought up in conversation – or he’ll be showing pictures of his little sister ioiewhgowhig

alex has no idea who his birth father is and he doesn’t really care to find out. varrick is his dad no questions asked.

ok but anyway let me tell u about the mess that is abominable potter -- i mean albus. i haven’t played him in a while but he’s a babe <3

he’s???? basically chandler from friends: sarcastic, anxious, confused and just kinda cruisin

he’s really sick of having to live up to the Potter Name. he feels like he’s always being watched, like everyone’s just waiting for him to achieve greatness, and frankly? he’s over it, my bud. he doesn’t want to be some great!! amazing!!! sensational wizard that’s going to change the world!!!!! he just wants to sit down, drink coffee, and do whatever the heck he wants.

he’s got anxiety, and honestly, can ya blame him? his whole life he’s been scrutinised by the media, his every move watched and consequently judged, and it feels like he’s pretty much carrying the world on his own two shoulders. he’s been known to freak out when too much is asked of him and will very often just retreat into a lil sarcastic shell that protects him from the world -- it’s easier there.

was literally devo to be sorted into slytherin at first. like, he spent the entire first week at hogwarts crying p much. i think what got him the most was that he wasn’t even a hatstall, or close to it -- it took a mere 38 seconds for the sorting hat to place him in slytherin. his first year at hogwarts he really distanced himself from his family, afraid that they would judge him or see him as lesser as the media had come to portray him. he didn’t think that he was worthy anymore of being a potter, but after a summer spent with his mum and dad, he came back to hogwarts his second year feeling a little bit more positive. he knows that just because he’s in slytherin, it doesn’t make him a bad person -- it’s just where he belongs.

yall wanna know why he’s in slytherin? here’s a lil list: he’s ambitious asF. not even just in his classes, but at anything he suddenly decides he wants: he will reach to get it. he sets his mind on something and he won’t forget about it. he’s also v much about self-preservation -- he loves his family and he loves his friends, but ultimately, it’s about making him look good and letting him achieve. #yikes. he’s also just generally determined asf and super clever

he’s p good at quidditch. he’s not the best, no, but he’s definitely on the team. he’s a chaser.
