At 81, Disney's First African-American Animator Is Still In The Studio
Have you ever seen Sleeping Beauty, The Jungle Book or the Toy Story? Well if you have, then you need to know it’s the work of animator Floyd Norman who helped bring Disney and Pixar classics to life.
He became the studio’s first African-American animator in the 1950s, he’s 81 now and he’s still working there.
He is so dedicated to his work that he never even thought of retirement. He says “You see, creative people don’t hang it up.”
He is still bringing joy to people after all these years and he’s not planning to retire soon.
His art influenced our childhood, with his help we saw amazing movies that we will always remember.
He is an epitome of black excellence.
Thank you, Floyd Norman.
