Jdxjdfysfrd hi, I really admire your art, in particular when it comes to the colour palettes you use in your pieces. They’re so vibrant and cute with the shading style, and your drawing style just puts accent to it so much more! Do you have any thought process about the colours you use in your art? I like my style of drawing, but am in dire need of help when it comes to colouring and shading and how to go about it. ;; Even ressources that helped you would be fine!

Thank you…I never thought there’d be a day where anyone would ask me for color advice (??) 💦💦 I don’t think I’m the best person to ask but I’ll try!

I’m gonna call myself out right now and say that I don’t actually have a plan when coloring most of the time. I have a set of colors that I usually use by default in my head. :’- ) I guess coloring the same thing over and over does that

Otherwise, I pick out reference photos before I start coloring. (I modify colors as I go so the final result ends up looking very different from the reference photo. One example being the previous villain Deku piece.)

As for shading…I remember being saved by this post a bunch of times back when I wasn’t as familiar with coloring! (Basically a cheat sheet on what colors go well with shading but never stop on exploring beyond this!)

Blending modes are also super helpful for shading, mostly multiply mode for darker parts. Here’s a small step-by-step just to show how I usually go about coloring.

In the King's game when izuku has the crown. He kinda looked like villain deku and now I just want to see villain deku in your style cute it's so colorfully cute (´∀｀)♡

Haha, contrary to my other posts, I usually draw villain deku with darker colors accompanied with lots and lots of edge :’-D
