does anyone have any recs for browser/downloadable games. think, like, clangen. Preferably ones that are standalone and free, but I can cope with steam/$5 or less if it's really good (ex. webfishing). no petsites. thanks :)

I've never played clangen, so can't really match that, but I have free games and have officially been enabled -Polytopia (lil grid clan fighter app. 30-40 min games that you can put down whenever) -Super auto pets (Steam or app. Put animals in order so their powers work together, fight others. No breeding/collecting) -Simon Tatham's puzzle pack (browser or app. Idk which is the official site tho. No ads, no cute anything, just a bunch of puzzles) -Cookie Clicker (browser. https://orteil.dashnet.org/cookieclicker/ Idle game where you click the cookie and may or may not cause the cookiepocolypse) -Sheepy (short 2d rpg, free on steam) -Stein.world (browser top-down mmo. 16 bit, gather stuff, fight rats for villagers, very classic feel) -Palia (Still in beta. Chonker of an mmo download. No combat, mostly exploration, talking to villagers, and building your house. There are breedable animals tho. You've been warned)

-To the Moon gets an honorable mention for making me cry for $2. (It regularly goes on sale) but it's a short game (3 hr ish) so money for time it's not great

I'm being driven slowly mad by a pair of birds. Not that they're doing anything to me mind you. They're just existing, swooping on birds several times their size, being unidentifiable lil brats, and *several* bird books haven't helped. Everything I can find is pointing to wilson's warbler. Colors, size, even the attitude. Books says "constantly moving and flitting about" which is book-talk for major bird adhd, and I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to get a picture of them for days cuz these bums will not sit still for two seconds. Except, exceptexcept, they got way too much schnoz. Like stole their whole shape from one of the crows they've been chasing or something. streamlined. The bird your bird tells you not to worry about. I'd say it was an oriole if they weren't supposed to be like twice as big. Idk maybe they're just angry because they're supposed to be that big and have lil birdie napoleon complexes.

First few weeks of Vampires I only watched Cleo's PoV, and the feeling of know something is happening but no idea what has been so perfect for spooky season.

I know I'm missing out on a lot of the fandom fun and silly hijinks but the experience of walking in fully believing it could just be a paranoia sim has been immaculate.

That said, I am now watching Pearl too (because Pearl kept disappearing but seemed totally innocent and I couldn't take it. I had to know) And the scene by the castle bridge is going to haunt me.

Cuz I dont know Pyro or much about the vampire half of the server at all, but they went straight from making fun of him to this absolutely unhinged scene. He has chosen psychological warfare and his heckin voice

We also know that said error could be somehow related the facial controls being linked to the environmental pipeline, since that's the clue that Andi needed to fix it.

It could also be a general/unknown error of some sort. But where's the fun in that? say it's specific. That means Gwen (Guin? G) has the same design flaw, and I gotta say, the idealized way she sees the world, her environment, is sure something. And linking it to her face, like say, her eyes, makes me think it might be a hard input rather than a software thing.

We know G's software is somehow outside of Olivia's control. Like, she has some type of free will, limited though it is. Try as they (olivia and her (?)dad) might, she keeps running away.

It might be a scenario similar to some of the problems modern AI has, with badly filtered inputs and/or over-generalized outputs, but in a more.. "free us" direction But more likely I think, she's been tinkering with some core. Maybe something to do with the mother in the picture? Hard wiring the facial inputs to change what she sees would be exactly the type of workaround a tinkerer who can't quite figure out the code would absolutely do.
