San Francisco Church #2

Golden, New Mexico

This little gem of a church dating from the 1830’s can be found along the Turquoise Trail in the old mining town of Golden, New Mexico.

I remember one time I was hiking with a friend through this area. And a group of people were behind us. All the sudden I hear this old woman shout “Larry! You’ve got to take a photo of all of us with this cactus”. We turn around and see 10 people just huddled around this one big saguaro.  At the time, we found it pretty weird and funny but hey, I guess I can’t blame them. Guess it is pretty amazing to see a saguaro if you’ve never seen one before. lol
