Welcome to my blog!

I'm doing a blog refresh after taking a break from tumblr so I thought I'd reintroduce myself.

🌻Hi, I'm Leo (he/they) - I'm a 26 yr old artist from Canada.

I love storytelling in all its forms! I'm also a trained 2d animator. I aspire to make silly films with good people!

In my free time I love to support my friends, go buckwild at punk shows, watch the latest at the theatre. I also like playing story-driven games, MMOs and competitive FPS.

Gavin Grimm is an 18-year-old youth activist fighting for equality for transgender students. After his school board denied him access to the boys’ restroom on the basis of his trans identity, Gavin, with the support of his family and the ACLU, sued Gloucester County School District for his right to access to the restroom like every other boy in his high school. His case made it all the way to the Supreme Court this year, and is currently back down before the 4th Circuit Court.

Against All Odds: Activist Gauri Sawant Has Been Fighting For Transgender Rights All Her Life 

“Don’t label a mother as a woman: a gender can’t decide motherhood.” –  Gauri Sawant

Gauri Sawant, who is a transgender activist, is inspiring society to accept transgender people. She is also planning to start a home for sex workers’ children to stop them from being sold and pushed into prostitution. Her journey consists of struggles, challenges, and difficulties. Her story impacts thousands of people to accept their gender, respect the LGBTQ community, and welcome them into the mainstream.

Some of her accomplishments include:

In 2000, she founded the Sakhi Char Chowghi Trust to promote safe sex and provide counselling to trans people. She encouraged trans people to live a more meaningful life.

For 16 years, she fought for the rights of the five lakh trans people in India.

She was one of the pioneers behind the Supreme Court judgment that recognised transgender as the third sex.

In 2008, Gauri adopted five-year-old Gayatri, whose mother was HIV-infected, to save her from being sold into the infamous red light area of Sonagachi, Kolkata.

In 2014, she became the first trans person to file a petition with the Supreme Court for transgender rights of marriage and adoption.

She is also trying to appoint trans people as security persons outside the gate of Siddhivinayak temple.
