Actually caught a villager sitting in an intended seating area! That it happens to be next to said villager's home is a bonus. (They so often plop themselves down on the ground right next to a seat!) Felicity is just adorable and I'm so happy that I moved her in! (I forgot who my starter Uchi villager was!) On that topic, you know who's going to be on my next island? June (& maybe Maple), even though it's supposed to be a cat & squirrel island. OMG. CUTE.

I never thought of myself as someone into "cute." Give me spooky, chaotic, weird, asymmetrical, and so on. But darn it... When it comes to ACNH villagers, I can't deal with some of them. They don't have to be everyone's idea of a dreamy (and, some of them are too precious) but I have to find them cute. ::Shrugs::

Coincidentally, Bruce telling me about being in the hospital a lot as a kid the day after I got out of the hospital* after a surprise 3-day stay. Unlike Bruce, I haven't been hospitalized a lot: this was just the second time in my life (first was for surgery & this was 100% unexpected). (Should add that it was rough & scary, but I got good care & am back to normal!)

*Timing on my images/videos is out of whack because I've been TTing back & forth a couple days at a time, trying to get Punchy's photo (to display outside his house). I also create posts a day or two ahead, basically because I have so many things to share and want to spread them out.

Apologies for not trimming this before I transferred it!* (Skip to the 15 sec mark.) But I loved this exchange, re: a tragic book accident. This is a another new bit of dialogue I don't think I've had with any other Lazy.

Dump of recent HHP interiors for NPCs (either ones I already had (Lottie), or ordered (before I decided to assign idols to the villagers*)): Kicks, Jack, Wardell, Lottie & Pascal.

Nothing too crazy or dramatic. I just like giving everyone possible a laundry area, plus the others "zones" I usually include. Kicks, of course, needed organization for his stock, and Pascal needed a small indoor pool (the wall behind him is ocean, of course!). Everyone else, just a cozy vacay home. I gave Wardell a bigger dining area b/c I see him hosting coworkers a lot.

*except for Felicity.

Y'all, Felicity is fast becoming a favorite! I'm very disappointed that another conversation failed to record*, but I'm seeing new dialogue that I've never had with a Peppy villager. (I've had Wendy on my main island for almost 5 years**. She has the same hobby (Fashion) and subtype (B - not even sure it's relevant) as Felicity, but has never shared the latest strings of dialogue.) The other one was also awesome & I hope I can find it (nope! see end of post). Her secret greeting just got changed to "Hail Eris."

I mean, how could I not track down amiibos (clones) for her favorite artist so she could have posters?!

*I'm trying to clean up the storage on the SD card in case that's an issue.

**Pre-HHP, I hated her starter house so much (one of the 3 you craft for) that a friend took her until we could work out a way to move her back on to at least put her into her own base home. All I remember is that it was a pain in the ass, and took quite a while. This alone is why I felt that getting HHP was worth every cent! (I've also relaxed about having the exact same villager. It would have been easier to just find another Wendy!)

Oh. I think ^ this still was meant to be a clip. So it was user error that caused me to "lose" that other conversation.

New villager update: Katt has now asked about moving 3x (out of 5 interactions). But she's staying. I've been hardcore time-traveling a couple of days at a time - forward and back - to gift* these two (both main & alt) so I can have their pics up in the main house (done!), and outside their homes. So far, I've received Katt's photo twice, and Punchy's once. So Momo & I are still stalking Punchy.

I just want to finish that up before I redo the DA, and that is waiting for the KK/DJ KK amiibos I ordered. (Felicity fangirls about KK so often that she needs a poster or two. When I had all those loaner amiibos, it hadn't occurred to me to take them to Harv's so I could order posters!)

It really feels like these two, especially Katt, have acclimated to island life the fastest (despite Katt asking repeatedly about moving). I remember trying to get the first Jock (whose name totally escapes me) to give me his photo before I booted him in favor of Sheldon, and it seemed to take forever!

*As far as I can remember, gifts were: assessed fossils, iron wall shelf & lamp, gyroids & pear jam (native fruit, so I have more of it than anything else). All gift-wrapped of course! Now that I only need that one photo, I've ordered a bunch of wall & ceiling items. (Following an old rule about gifting them things they won't put in their house, although once you redecorate for them, I don't think they place furniture or Misc items anymore.)

I don't know why some cranky villagers remind me of my dad, and some don't. I mean, they mostly have all the same dialogue, right? (Butch, on my original island, reminds me SO much of my dad*, but Bruce here, not so much. It's weird.) I do love the references they come up with!

I'm cautiously optimistic that he's no longer going to wear the jockey uniform that makes him look like a nutcracker. (See bottom pic)

*And Tasha, on that island, reminds me of my mom (a little passive aggressive, but also takes turns being kind). But the snooty on this island (Naomi) , not so much. Might help that my mom was tiny (only half an inch shorter than me, but small while I only qualify as petite in height).

Catch-up pic of Norma's house (while Felicity visits). She's due for a redesign, but I don't have any new ideas for her yet*. Funny that the chickens had to go, because the island didn't end up having the farm vibe I initially planned, but the cows are fine!

*that don't require design slots I don't have! Normals are crafters, and mention knitting a lot. I knit, so I'd love more in-game yarn-y items (this customization with the glass jar is all I have). There are cute designs for simple panels (yarn storage, etc.) & possibly the little countertop signs, but I'm out of slots!

PS: I can give up a slot or two if anyone can suggest a yarn-basket or something. It would be worth it.

Lolly got a redesign, too! New door, leading to another room, and a coffee station with Brewster's pic. I couldn't think of any other NPC (whose pic I have cataloged) that she'd want on her wall.

Dunno why she didn't change out of her sick-day outfit after she took the medicine - most villagers do.

Two things: 1) Shep's pad redecorated, 2) Tiny update on amiibos.

I'm going back and fixing the earlier interiors that I did before finding the door stickers (everyone needs an extra room to store (or do) stuff privately). My new thing (see more below) is to "assign" an NPC for the villagers to be a fan of.* Can only work with the amiibos I have*, but so far, so good. Shep, naturally, would idolize Label. Perhaps I'll add Kick's pic once I have it. I also have to decide coffee or tea; if coffee, they get a Brewster item along with a coffee siphon or espresso maker. (I redid his exterior too, but just changed out the colors, no biggie.)

2. I didn't realize that I had Harv's amiibo! I experimented & Harriet doesn't come along with him. She's not even mentioned. So there has to be an official relationship in order to get more than one photo.

2b. None of this applies for posters. If you want posters in your catalog (I use them in villager homes), you have to scan that character's amiibo at Harv's, then order the poster. Once you've received it, you can use in decorating, so there's no multiples. I'm loving the idea of my villagers being fans of one NPC or another, and having a poster or framed pic of them up in their house.

*Except for Felicity, because she talks about KK a lot. so there's no debate there. I'm actually going to order the KK amiibos, so I can get the posters for her. (I have one pic cataloged, somehow, probably from when my friend loaned me a pile of NPC amiibos.)

Have been having some wardrobe issues recently (on both islands)! But these are just snaps of villagers wearing designs from the back wall of Able's (Ables?). I'm always fine with this! Even better than running into one villager wearing one of my shirts, is finding 2, hanging out together! (Oh, Lolly, sorry your eyes are closed.)

What I've not been fine with is Bruce wearing the green & red jockey uniform (looks like a nutcracker) & Naomi sporting a towel wrap all over the island. So I spent several in-game days (with some time traveling) gifting them more appropriate tops in the hopes that the awful stuff will get booted out of the rotation. (This may have immediately been halted by Naomi asking to buy a random garment out of my pockets (I can't say no).)

I mentioned to some friends that one of my wish list items for ACNH is the option to speak with a villager and directly ask them to stop wearing a particular outfit. (You can ask Isabelle to speak to them about clothes, but that deals with things from the back wall of Ables. Sometimes, visitors post designs without permission, or a villager comes from another island wearing something inappropriate.)

My other wish? A way to ping or summon villagers to make gifting easier!

Sleepyside's entrance seems small, like Repose's; however, it's misleading: it leads into a little "overgrown" area that is a tribute to one of my favorite movies: My Neighbor Totoro. This area has a winding path - to make it seem larger than it is - a bus stop, shrine, cat bus, and Totoro Chibis & soot sprites (I'll share codes at the end!) - expand to see clip.

Like the cemetery, this is one of the earliest builds on Repose & is why I try to record my DAs* in rainy weather. It was updated with 2.0 when I believe the Retro Transportation Stop was released.

Conversations with the new villagers, Katt & Punchy. Katt has asked about moving twice since her arrival (2 out of the 3 times someone has asked). These two fit much better than the recently-departed chickens.

Happy Memorial Day in the US. This holiday is designated to honor US military personnel who died in service, but people visit graves of any who served at any time to place small flags. My family visited, cleaned and put flowers, etc. at any graves while visiting these others* & I know it's a fairly common practice. (Many people (not all, of course) have the day off, so a 3-day weekend (often w/ decent weather - here anyway) is a good time to visit.)

Practically the first thing I built on my original, forever island (Repose) was this cemetery. It's gone through many revisions, but here is where we are now (essentially Lucky's yard). It's a nod to the cemetery "up north" where my parents & paternal grandparents are buried. When he was a teen, my dad assisted the sexton and my grandmother loved roaming the grounds, making rubbings. So it has a special place in my heart. I only have memorials here for my parents: I have the Mom & Dad mugs, a Monarch butterfly for my mom and an almost-correct-color firefighter's helmet for my dad. (I would prefer proper turnout boots, but I don't think they exist.)

There's a path every couple of rows that is wide enough to drive through, and people do just that: drive-by visits, where they pause at a grave (staying in the car), then leave. One of these (RL) graves is** decorated like a carnival, with toys, pinwheels, garden gnomes, etc.

*Alas, I've not been able to visit for several years, since we no longer have property near by and it's a loooong drive. I'm trying to set up a secular type of shrine at home,

**Was the last time I was there, and always was prior to that. My dad told me that the woman buried there was the meanest person he ever knew, and didn't get along with anyone in her family. But once she was gone, she became a saint, and someone visited her grave almost every day. Because of all of the gravesite decorations I've seen in my time, I used everything that appealed to me in this build.

New Villagers on Sleepyside! Welcome Katt & Punchy! Exteriors first, then interiors. As mentioned previously, I decided to move out the chickens (Egbert & Plucky). Katt moved into Plucky's plot & Punchy into Egbert's. (Longer post.)

I just recently made a couple of changes to the first yard (Katt's now), so I really just changed the exterior. Like neighbor Naomi, Katt's favorite color is purple, but 2 purple houses near each other is too much for me, so we have this combo instead. (Crap! I have to fix the pathing in front of her house! Done, along with the fence!)

If anything, only the door color changed for Punchy moving into Egbert's spot. I wasn't trying to make it match, but... The Godzilla/Mothra scene on the rocks behind his house was there before, but I neglected to share it.

Fact: I appear to be incapable of doing a villager's house w/o a bed, seating for 2 (min), a place to eat (sometimes combined w/ seating), music, kitchen & workbench (& it all has to be accessible). Just cannot. I love seeing people turning their villager's homes into shops but it makes me twitch when I think about these (digital, imaginary) villagers wandering around their houses w/o a place to sit or sleep. LOL. On this island, I add the extra door to avoid doing bathrooms (why they treat toilets like chairs is beyond me). Katt's mini workbench is in the "utility" room. (If they don't have something to use for cooking or DIY, they'll swap out random furniture for crafting sessions.)

Punchy, as a Lazy, has a pet Bell Cricket & a bunch of bug-themed items, including Flick's framed pic & poster, plus the museum bug poster & plaque. He likes blue, so I used the butterfly wall for the accent. (Katt doesn't have one, but she does have a DJ KK pic up (no poster) plus a couple of albums.)

Beau's little farm: chickens & pumpkins, and a suitable log cabin. I love these custom chicken designs so much that I have almost identical setups on both islands. Because I wanted a pond, the coop area is a little tight, but that's practically a theme on Sleepyside! (Beau lives next to (above & to the left of) Sheldon.

About his interior: I moved in Punchy to replace the other Lazy, Egbert, and while re-doing his house, I realized that both Lazys, who love bugs, needed a Flick photo & poster, so I headed over to the HHP island & forced Flick to invite me to do a vacation home for him & CJ. So I had to pay twice to finish Punchy's house (coming soon).

Lazies love bugs, so an easy way to decorate is to place one or more bugs! (Beau has a mosquito (love them trapped under a glass) & Punchy has a Bell Cricket.) I added the museum bug poster, & Flick photo & poster. I think I put the museum bug plaque up, too, from the Stamp event. Outside of both Lazy houses, I place the toy bugs (from Bug-offs?).

My Beau makes his bed, and cooks, so it's one of the few interiors where I haven't used the sloppy bed, and he has a big pot of fried rice going on the stove.
