Just a quick update on the dress. I had some time yesterday to pull apart that awful blue chiffon, and I had another go with the white chiffon. I used two 120cm lengths so the gathering was only 2x the width of the fabric.

I also used some heavy satin for the waistband instead of the other scrap I used last time. I’m happy to report it sits a lot better.

Today I set out to make a whole dress from start to finish. As I mentioned before, I found some of the fabric I loved but in pink so I could do a test run to see how it sits. We went to Hippo Creek in Waterford last Friday and I was very impressed! The atmosphere is very nice, its the type of restaurant that would fit in well at the casino or other fancy hotel.
