Event PSA
Thought I’d do one of these because why not kick start a newly arrived muse with an event! Honestly, there won’t be much difference between Hatori ‘real’ and Hatori ‘alternate’ all I can say is that as a doctor he’ll probably be offering up his services or lending aid to a medical unit throughout the event (probably helping people from both dimensions, because that’s just the kind of guy he is) So if anyone was up for plotting or planned to get their muse messed up and needs a doctor (no reboot system oh no) then yeah, like this ad or hop by my inbox if you prefer! Or if any fellow helpful medicine/healer people wanna team up and be useful together that works too!
"Eh? Wha’dya mean?"
"I’ve got to go back! People are counting on me!"
His naivety knows no bounds; not a part of him believes that the prospect of ‘going home from this city’ could be anything but truth. It hasn’t even crossed his mind that something might be wrong with the offer. Maybe it’s because he hasn’t spent much time in this city, and doesn’t know as much as other more experienced residents do… but it’s more likely his own nature to trust others, regardless of their intentions.
He didn't reap any pleasure from being the voice of caution, it was obvious many of the habitants where elated to hear of their upcoming release. He would have been among them, were it not for past experiences. Then again there could always be that minute chance that the experiment was over, which is why the Sohma wasn't too forceful about his current suspicions.
"Yes I understand." He had a family of his own who heavily relied on him for various aspects of their life.
"But I think it would be better if you at least considered the strong possibility that this may be yet another farce, it will mitigate any disappointments later on."
"If that happens I’ll just ge-… Che…"
┌Well whatever.┘
"It’s none of your business."
"You're right, it isn't"
And Hatori wasn't the least bit interested about probing around for what had provoked the fist-to-wall bashing episode. As a doctor, it was just force of habit to advise against actions with potentially bone breaking repercussions.
"Should you require any medical attention once you're done, I'll be over in that building." Nodding towards a tavern across the road.
"Fuck!"
┌Yes, that’s an idiot monk slamming his fist as hard as he can into a wall before turning his attention to his smokes and a can of beer.┘
"I wouldn't keep doing that"
"You'll fracture your knuckle."
"Looks like today’s the day… Ready."
He says that, but his expression reads that he still might be a little worried about something. It’s necessary, but returning to that reality isn’t exactly pleasant… and he still wonders if he’ll leave something behind here that he can’t get back.
"If I may suggest, not to get your hopes up too high."
He's rarely one for interfering in the affairs of other, being quite the private person himself; but there was too much tension spreading around the city already with the recent announcement.
Had it been a time when she had barely known the Sohma family, Tohru might have worried that she had done something to upset Hatori at his comment. However, after getting to know them, her smile didn’t even falter at his answer. She assumed the best possible meaning of the answer, as she so often did with both him and Kyo.
"Well, at least this means we won’t be alone. I’m sure Yuki will be glad to see you too!" She added the last sentence quickly, as she wasn’t sure if he had seen Yuki or not yet. Having just seen Hatori, she wasn’t even sure how long he had been there.
"I’ve been here for about a week now!" Tohru responded with a nod. "Have you only just arrived, Hatori?"
The mention of his cousin's name had Hatori momentarily stalling for words. So, poor Yuki had been equally laden with this fate? It was frightening to speculate on how many others from 'their' world may end up joining them, at the very least he'd be able to watch over everyone to the best of his ability.
The recent acquisition of a job at the local clinic was already a step in the right direction, in terms of funding a potentially expanding family group.
"Yuki - do you know where's he's staying?"
He was particularly concerned for the younger Sohma's condition, Yuki's constitution was not a sturdy one and on top of that his self sufficiency skills were lacking, if not non existent!
At her question, he fell into another silence mulling over how much he wanted to expose about his experiences with...this place.
"I have, but..."
"This isn't my first time here."
If Tohru didn’t know any better, she might have rushed forward to hug the man she hadn’t seen since arriving in Hive City. (Though to be fair, it felt like such a long time.) Tears formed at the corners of her eyes, though they were tears of joy. First Yuki and now Hatori. While she wasn’t happy they were being abducted as well, she was happy to see them all the same.
"Yes, I’m fine. I’m so happy to see you again!"
Just how did she do it, Hatori found himself musing in admiration of the girl's tenacity when it came to preserving her optimistic conduct and the infectious effect it had on him and the rest of his family. Even in times like these, she was effortlessly capable of inspiring a smile [faint as it was] on the male's stoic expression.
"Yes, I only wish I could say the same."
Hatori was confident Tohru knew him well enough by now as to not take the statement on a personal level. He would have highly preferred to shoulder the burden of this deranged experiment alone.
"How long have you been here?"

"H-Hatori?"
"....."
"Tohru" It would seem there had been some addition from Hatori's world since his last abduction, much to the Doctor's chagrin.
"Are you well?"

Fruits Basket: The God and the Zodiac. [In the anime]
A prayer answered - intro/open
Sansa blinked. Once, twice, feeling completely stunned, as if in a dream. That shiny mechanism telling her things seemed to have been forgotten as she, confused, looked around. I’m definitely not in Kingsland - Sansa thought. And when she was moving, her legs seemed stiff, locked by fear. Why am I so scared…? As long as she prayed, the gods had pretended to be deaf. But the gods are just - she thought. And now, even if belatedly, there she was. Free. Free of Joffrey and his cruelties, free of Tyrion, her husband. Free of the court game. So why did the girl felt a heavy heart, as if it were, now, made of stone…? Standing up, forcing those legs that did not seem to advance, she found the door. When Sansa managed her fingers to open it, she felt a mild wind that ruffled her red strands. I look completely disheveled - was her thought, until her eyes focused on the vastness that was the place. Sansa did not know where she was - none of her lessons had mentioned something similar to that city - and this only brought, tighter, the unwell. This is not my home. I don’t belong here.
The sky was already showing signs of the end of the day, stained orange tones. It would be a extraordinary vision if at that moment Sansa did not find herself so stunned. Looking sideways and finally venturing out, she saw, finally, a silhouette approaching. Taking a deep breath before approaching, she essayed a delicate smile, trying to hide of her expression all fear. “Pardon, sir” – she caught, with her haughty and still delicate voice - “Could you tell me where I am …?”
Regardless of the fact that most of the populace’ abilities had been capped, the encompassing districts composing Hive City were far from being a safeguarded haven for its inhabitants. Some areas, perhaps, could boast more secure parameters for those who were not so apt at self defence. The Ghetto was not one of them, and just happened to be where his trajectory from a brief visit to stock up on supplies had been interrupted by an auburn haired youth.
Being a recent addition to this lunatic experiment himself, Hatori was hardly a veteran in navigating its streets, but at the very least he could advise her towards a less hazardous location.
“Hive City, I assume you must have watched the induction video?”
Sighing faintly, he examined the girl more closely with his one functioning eye. She was young, slightly older than Kisa maybe– far too vulnerable to be out alone and lost with dusk hastily on approach.
“You should get to your apartment for now and stay there, you can seek out answers later.” A pause then ensued, drawn out and awkward as if hesitating to voice the next offer
“I can accompany you if you need help.”
Trusting mysterious older men was usually not encouraged, but if anyone in around here could be deemed a safe escort, Hatori definitely fell into that category.

“Dad! Daaaaad!”
“Noooooo!”
The young lion’s brown eyes snapped open, his limbs trembling as he struggled to his paws. Flashes of his previous nightmare still echoed through his mind; yowls of pain and terror, his father’s lifeless corpse, and his uncle’s merciless orders to run away from what he had done.
Simba knew he was a coward, and it showed in his dreams every night as his memories played on an endless loops.
Suppressing the urge to cry, the cub glanced around and called out for his caretakers.
“Timon? Pumbaa?”
Upon closer examination, this didn’t look like the jungle at all - or the Pride Lands. It was dark here, and damp; Simba wrinkled his nose as a barrage of musty smells hit his sensitive nose.
This place was even worse than the Elephant Graveyard.
Swallowing hard, Simba padded forward cautiously, stumbling a bit in his step. “H-hello?” he called out, his voice but a mew in the large area. The hard ground hurt the pads on his paws; his heart pounding in fright, he called out again.
“Hello? Somebody! Anybody…”
It was just like before, when Dad needed help. But Simba was lost - shaking like a leaf and completely alone once again.
Kings needed to be brave, even when they were scared. But Simba was no king, was he? Not anymore.
The probability of encountering an agitated lion cub during an impromptu stroll through Hive’s ghetto had ranked quite low on Hatori’s list of outcomes. Initially he’d presumed that the lamenting growls belonged to a stray feline populating the alleyways, but a glimpse of golden pelt and large paws quickly put that suspicion to rest.
A dim sense of anxiety began to ripen within the doctor, even young wild animals could prove threatening when distressed, but how had the cub arrived here in the first instance? His first guess was that one of the numerous brigands befouling the City was conducting some manner of illegal trafficking for exotic pets and the youngling had been fortunate enough to escape.
A quick glaze over the cub indicated no immediate signs of injury or abuse, so being reluctant to get involved in a potentially risky situation; Hatori envisaged abandoning it to its own devices. That was, until he’d heard a distinctly human voice originate from the lion.
Fortunately, the cursed Sohma was more familiar with conversing animals than most people, being one himself in certain circumstances! Quirking a dark brown, he cautiously approached the creature as to not spook it, his tall frame bending to his knees with a palm outstretched as a friendly gesture.
"You can talk?" Daft question, but Hive had made him doubt his sanity more than once since arriving.
" Do you need help?"
