Just a quick note here that I'll be going on hiatus as of today!
My mind is in a million different places at once and it's making it hard to focus on this blog and the character unfortunately, so I'm going to step down and take care of some things off of the blog and come back with some renewed energy and hopefully a new muse.
(´ďźĎďź`) Apologies for those I owe replies to! And if you need to get a hold of me you can always climb over to my Twitter.
Thanks everyone~
Fate Broken [Open/Intro]
" Y-yeah I do⌠Actually theyâre pretty important to meâŚ" So he was really thankful they had let him keep it. Even if his friends werenât actually here with him. Well they weâre practically with him in spirit..one of them more then others, because of one special card.
" A-ah well itâs nice meeting you Yuuma..Mineâs Aichi." He couldnât help smile back at the other. Though his was a bit more shy looking then the others more enthusiastic one. " Well, Actually I just got here. So I had wanted to look for where they said I was staying.. District Alpha I think it was?.. Though a snack sounds nice before hand actually.. Though that sounds nice too." He loved his cards, so teaching someone else about it was always wonderful in his eyes.
Yuuma beamed with confident delight as Aichi seemed to be warming up a bit; he knew how confusing and scary this new city could be for first timers, and he was just glad that he could help Aichi by ensuring he didn't have to face it alone. Being away from family and friends was the hardest part (never mind being turned into an experiment or all the weird dangerous factors that came into play) and the only way to cure that was to make more friends. Together, nothing was really scary at all.
"District Alpha? Hmm... oh! That's right around here!" Grinning brightly alongside Aichi's softer smile, he nodded once in confirmation. "Alright! It's no good to go on an empty stomach, so let's grab something to eat and then we'll get'cha settled!" He began to move forward with focus interest, hurried compared to his original pace - food was on the line now, after all! With each energetic step, he was chuckling and chirping happily to himself about the new friend he'd made; the new card game he'd discovered; the potential of a delicious snack. Seeing as Aichi was new here, he took it upon himself to find where they would settle - he'd tried a lot of the cheaper places in various Sectors, so he knew his way around the cafes and convenience stores well enough. Finally stopping at a small bakery - somewhat rundown and hardly fancy, with small tables and wire chairs that sat on a miniature veranda - he turned to face Aichi.
"Something like this okay? Their bread is the best first thing in the morning~" Really though, he didn't care where they settled, as long as they settled down sooner rather than later... because food aside, his mind was still on learning about Aichi's game and where he came from, as the two shared a common interest.
âş Duel Start...? [ open // intro ]
The screen died with a click, leaving a confused and frustrated Pharaoh in silence. None of the manâs words made any sense to him. There was a claim to a âsocial experimentâ but no matter how the duelist looked at things he could only see it one way - heâd been kidnapped. And, as far as he could tell, he was alone. Yami searched and searched but it was becoming very clear Yugiâs soul was no longer with him.. at least not in the way they had been. There would always be some connection between the two..
[I donât understand⌠how is this possible?] He wondered, brows knitting together and lips forming a frown. The young king sat for some time, lost in thought, before deciding itâd be for the best if he tried exploring this new place. Just sitting there was only adding to his frustrations anyway. Once heâd donned the duel disk heâd found, apparently set out for him, he set out into the city.
Everything was similar to Domino yet it was glaringly obvious they werenât the same place. Just the generally energy of the city was different. Yami shivered subconsciously, suddenly very aware how alone he was. It wasnât as though he hadnât realized that earlier but it was just painfully obvious now. But he wouldnât run. He never was the kind to give up even when all hope seemed to be lost and he wasnât going to start now.
That said.. where exactly was he suppose to go now? The only other information the duelist had been given was of his apartment - M1 - but no map. How did these people expect him to find his away around? Was he suppose to just guess? Yami sighed, his frustration growing by the second.
"Excuse me." The duelist calls to an approaching stranger, hoping this would be enough to grab their attention. Yami was pretty reluctant to be doing this but it was the only option he had at this point. "I donât want to be a bother but Iâm new here and Iâm not all that sure where Iâm suppose to go.."
"Do you think you could help me out?"
"There has to be some kind of clue around here...~"
With arms crossed in mild frustration, the Yuuma observed the area with a prominent frown across his features. He found himself in Sector One - as he often did, possibly due to it being one of the more normal-appearing of the Sectors - back right where he started, hovering over the grounds where many were ejected into the city for the first time; where he had begun his own journey here. He'd had his fun, spent time here almost carefreely, but enough was enough - he had to find his way home. The boy had been exploring the first place he'd seen, hoping for some kind of hint that might help find a way out... without luck. It was beginning to seem like he'd have to dig deeper into some of the other Sectors to uncover some kind of secret - he couldn't just stay in this city forever!
In his search, he had ended up mingled with many individuals taking their first steps here; he was getting kind of tired of animatedly searching around when one such person approached him. Immediately, the expression on Yuuma's face dropped to one of blank curiosity, turning his head to regard them; to be honest, that stranger's hairstyle... it was kind of comforting, really, well suited for his old home of Heartland. Eased not only by that but also his natural draw to connecting with others, Yuuma quickly turned to face the other, offering a bright, boyish smile in welcome. It was kind of the opposite of finding a way out - helping someone else cope with getting in - but he couldn't turn down someone asking for a hand!
"Yeah, no problem!" he chirped enthusiastically, giving a confident thumbs up. "Dunno about where you're 'supposed' to go, though... isn't it a lot more fun to take on your own adventure here? Bring it to the city in your own way!" There was a pause, hesitation followed by an afterthought. "Er, wait, do you mean you're looking for your residence?" That, he supposed, was kind of important. "I can help you with that if you need it!"
Suddenly, something caught his eye, attached to the man's arm; bending his body slightly to the side to the side to observe closer, it took a mere second for his crimson eyes to widen, lips parting in wonder. That thing on the guy's arm, it looked like...
"... Hold on, is that a duel disk?!" The technology looked a little different than the ones he was used to, but still... it sure looked like one, didn't it?
â§
The commotion that burst into the room where he had come to settle down in was beyond unpleasant. Nestled comfortably on his folded arms on the desk in front of him, he was face down, a mop of brown napping quietly in the most secluded room the magician could find. His first instinct had been to simply close his eyes tighter, to try to block out the racket - but as a kicking body crashed into the table he had been snoozing upon, and said personâs attacker followed into the room, shouting obscenities at a volume that was impossible to ignore - the brunette had enough. He really couldnât sleep in these conditions, not with all the shouting and complete disregard for the fact that he had been there first. Lifting his head only enough to rest his nose on his forearms, half lidded brown eyes watched lazily as a rough individual threatened itâs frailer target, ignorant of the napping magician. Damn it, didnât they notice a guy was trying to sleep in here?
The magicianâs hand lifted lazily, unnoticed by the distracted pair. An incantation uttered under his breath quietly, light gathered there - and in a sudden explosion of colour, the attacker was thrown out of the room, forced by a magic spell that haphazardly discarded him into the hall.
The individual who had been attacked was silent at first, before spewing thanks; but by that point, the magician - Ryner - had nested back into his arms, brushing off the âgood deedâ by trying to ignore such gratitude.
"Itâs not like I did anything special," he half groaned with a mild note of irritation, rolling his head to the side so that he at least wouldnât muffle his words. He sounded disinterested at best, no interest in accepting any heroic credit - even if a mild amused tone might have hidden in the underlying notes of his voice. "He was causing such a racket, howâs a guy supposed to get some rest in here? My hand just kind of slipped is all. Now, if you donât mind, Iâve got a couple more days worth of sleep Iâve got to catch up onâŚ~" It sounded like a cover up - trying to avoid such praise.
"⌠And anyway," he murmured quietly, a regretful voice so soft it may have not even been heard, "you donât want to spend any more time than you have to around a monster like me."
Encouraging them to leave through the clever tactic of ignoring them, Ryner settled back onto his arms as if he really would sleep for another few days time.
(( ⧠sends this as if i don't know all your muses ))
âGo!â
The harsh demand was hissed out on a sharp breath, as a gloved hand shot out horizontally, his arm cutting through the air and blocking IV from going any further. The cold duelist spared not even a secondâs glance backwards to see what sort of reaction the champion might have given, and the aggressive stance he took refused to allow him to go against such a demand. By the powerful glare that Kaito directed forward, it was clear that he had determined the problem that stood before them as something he would deal with. It wasnât protecting the younger Arclight - it wasnât kindness. But more rather⌠something deep within himself told him he had to do.
"⌠Even if the target of such actions is piled with his own sins, I wonât such impure, dishonourable deeds to pass unpunished." The original target of the problem at hand - IV, not Kaito - was certainly no saint. Kaito knew that from experience; but such past events held no weight in the current situation. Their opponent before them was cruel and played unfairly, and the Numbers Hunter could not stand for that - especially when the opponentâs goal was to impede his mentor - Vâs plans. Thatâs what had brought he and IV here, after all; united together under IVâs brother. "⌠Iâll burn away your corrupted soul!"
Yes, thatâs right; choosing to fight this opponent, buying IV time, protecting IV - it was all for his mentor.
"⌠Chris is waiting," he coldly remarked to IV, reminding him that the elder Arclight was expecting his assistance; gritting his teeth as if losing patience with the other, his voice raised once more to a powerful order. âKeep moving!â
Because heâd take care of things here.
â§
"Itâs been a while, Gundam pilot!"
His raised voice was loud, steeped with an almost fascinated wonder; bearing a proud grin, he locked solidly on his target, a man whom heâd crossed paths with on the battlefield more than once in his lengthy career. His borderline unhealthy obsession with the breed of mobile suit that the brunette had piloted was startlingly obvious, notable in the passionate spark that lit behind his cool gaze. In one strong, fluid movement, the soldier leapt from the ledge he had been standing upon, landing with military precision; his arm swept in front of him in a grand gesture that demanded attention upon him.
"How wonderful, that regardless of where we are, our paths still cross!" It may have not been the pilot heâd sworn rivalry to, but his comrade and a bearer of a magnificent Gundam all the same - without seeing the machine with his own eyes, he refused to let the brunette get away. Despite the fact that they stood on opposite sides of the battlefield, there was no maliciousness in the confident tone Graham boasted; this pursuit was not one simply bound by duty, but his own fascination as well - the burning of his soul that sought to clash against such an incredible power. "I have my stars to thank for blessing me with the destiny of facing you! It would be rude to deny such a calling; so, Gundam pilot, show me what youâll do!"
Send me a ⧠and I'll introduce you to one of all the muses I ever had.

Too Beautiful for a Place Like This || Rei and Yuuma
"aaAAAHHHH!!!HAâŚhaâŚheheâŚhahahaaa!"
Rei had no idea why heâs laughing just after screaming in surprise. In sync with the boyâs nervous laughter, no less. Or why his insides squirmed in more ways than one and none that he cares to articulate. Or why he canât stop his laughing while coming off as frantic of terrified or insane. Or most likely all three.
âGet ahold of yourself you maniac! Itâs still too early to let your guard down, but you can take this kid on if necessary heâs shorter than Nagisa. And Nagisa is relatively harmless so maybe Iâm laughing out of relief, yes, thatâs got to be it.
Rei continued to laugh as the boy began to talk. What is he even saying.
âHold up was that a gunshot just now?!
That was frighteningly sobering. Right. Rei had to make it to his living quarters. Or die trying, from the looks of it now. Rei shuddered away the unpleasant thought and tried to convey whatever was left of his dignity.
Rei cleared his throat once, to stop the residual laughter. Twice, to seriously focus his thoughts. And a third time for dramatic effect. Well, at least he didnât frighten the boy away. That might be a good start.
"Then i-if you can show me where District Gamma is, kid. That would be great. You should know in advance I have absolutely no cash on me."
Rei was not sure what sort of effect he was even going for at this point. But he knew very well that he did not achieve it in the slightest.
Alright, alright, he still had things under control. He was keeping a cool head and he'd stopped himself from shrieking when that bullet had sounded off... yeah, everything was in check. That wasn't to say that he didn't flinch with each sudden cough from the other, sensitive to any sound within earshot. But Yuuma's grin stayed, as well as he could hold it; the last safeguard of his confidence that was slowly being whittled away. It only broke for an instant of startled confusion, as he had no idea what this guy was going on about.
"It's Yuuma!" he protested to the abrupt name of 'kid' - but that quick interjection just as quickly changed tune. "... Wait, cash?" Why was that even relevant? Too pure-hearted to consider that he might have looked sketchy, he tried to wave it off. "Errr, I don't really get what you mean... But, uh, more importantly..." A pause, accompanied by that same awkward cover-up grin from before. "... you can run fast, right? Not that we gotta or anything, but for future reference!" Yuuma, indeed, could run pretty fast. Gym class was his number one subject, after all! And this guy had long legs, so he hoped they'd be fine; he'd seen enough of these streets to know that sometimes you just really needed to dash as quickly as you could.
"Alright! Leave it to me!" The pep talk seemed as much a confirmation that he'd help as it was encouraging himself. As his own residence, he'd been to District Gamma enough times to know the way, but not exactly without finding trouble; he was starting to learn some tricks to get through these streets, at least. As he finally made to lead the way with an almost theatrical show of confidence - his arms bent at his elbows firmly and his fists clenched as if to show off his non-existent muscle, bringing his feet down with an unnecessarily awkward strength - he hovered closely to the treeline against the sidewalk, as if at any given moment he might jump for the bushes. "The quickest way there is down the main street, but there's a lot of fights there," - in other words, gangsters, Yuuma began to explain - "so we're better off going through the park, where it's just a bunch of weird guys trying to sell you stuff out their coats. But they're all pretty nice, so it's fine!"
For a kid to be talking about this kind of stuff so casually... well, it said a lot about this Sector, that was for sure.
Fate Broken [Open/Intro]
" Itâs not a problem." He wouldnât want his own cards, so he just took that feeling into consideration. Even more so if it had been a card like Blaster Blade. " Oh, It is.. well thatâs a shame.. I suppose I wonât have much luck finding people to cardfight with then eitherâŚ" He frowned slightly, seeing as vanguard had been his way of opening himself up instead of his normal shy nature.. Well it looked like heâd have to just try to be brave as always more so now though.
" A-ah sure, I donât see why not.. though maybe we should move and go sit somewhere." Seeing as heâd rather not be in anyoneâs way if it was possible. He did take a look at the cards though, seeing as the looked pretty interesting in a way. "
W-wait they took your deck?⌠I-i guess I was lucky thenâŚâ He sighed slightly taking his deck case out of his pocket. â But It sure is, though I canât say Iâve heard of Duel Monsters before..sorry..â
"... Eh? Card fight?" That simple statement had peaked Yuuma's interest, by the way his head perked to one side in curiosity; before this development in the conversation, he'd thought that this guy was just like everyone else in this city - completely oblivious to not only Duel Monsters, but likely card games in general. But the way the blue-haired teen was talking... was there a chance that he might have had had some knowledge of some kind of cards? A light sparked behind Yuuma's crimson eyes, his mouth opening to question it--
-- And then he was reminded that they were still kind of standing right by the street. In the middle of the sidewalk. Probably in the way of anyone who was trying to cross the road. And by the completely blank expression that crossed Yuuma's face, he hadn't even realized. It was followed by a light laugh at himself, over how distracted he'd been to forget something important like where they were standing.
"Right, right, we should probably settle down somewhere; why don't we-- whoooooa!!"
"Hold it, you really do have cards!!"
As his eyes locked onto the deck that the teen retrieved from his pocked, Yuuma's face lit up like a firework. Sure, it wasn't Duel Monsters (and in his opinion, nothing could ever beat Duel Monsters) - but cards, glorious cards! Someone new in this city who would understand! The connection was instantaneous for the crimson-eyed boy, who couldn't contain his joy. With his empty fist clenched in the air confidently, he took the initiative for the shyer boy, moving from the place they had been standing to direct the both of them down the sidewalk.
"My name's Yuuma, by the way!" He flashed a toothy grin, hoping to make the other feel a little more at ease - though his overabundant energy might have been overwhelming. "Did you have some place you were going out here? Maybe I can show you the way! Unless you just want to settle down with a snack or something? I don't really care where we go, you just gotta teach me about your cards!" Really, he couldn't have been happier.
⎠VERTIGO ⎠[Open]
The shock had lessened significantly since the last time Ryou had been taken into the city. Not to say it wasnât there, but it wasnât entirely unfamiliar this time around. In fact, if he didnât know any better heâd say there was some sort ofâŚrelief? In the act of being taken from his own world once again.Â
Relief was probably the wrong word, though. It wasnât as though he was disappointed when heâd been returned to his home. He couldnât have been, since everything was wiped from his memory altogether. But Domino had grown tiresome. There were too many memories, some bad and some horrific, etched into the very walls of his old apartment. There wasnât a place in Domino that he could look and not see, with perfect, unblemished clarity, the nightmares that heâd lived, and the nightmares that he caused.Â
SoâŚperhaps relief was the right word after all.Â
Ryou didnât walk far from the room that he woke up in. Finding district beta could wait. He wasnât sure when the last time he ate actually was, but by the way his stomach ached and churned, he assumed it wasnât anytime recent. He learned the hard way what going for a long time without food could do to a personâs mental state, so getting something to eat was priority one.Â
He considered going by himself, it was what he was used to, anyway. But being alone allowed his mind to settle on things heâd rather forget. And he most certainly didnât want to end up panicking in the middle of a public eatery.Â
It was strange, he admitted, inviting a stranger to lunch, but surely there was someone in the city who would gladly enjoy a bit of company.Â
Or he hoped, rather. But the worst answer he could get was a no, so he really wasnât taking that significant of a risk.Â
"Pardon me, butâŚ"
"âŚany chance youâre free to get something to eat this afternoon? I apologize if this is a bit foreword - "
In retrospect, it probably wouldnât seem strange or forward at all if he didnât have an Ouija board tucked under his arm.
Oops.
As the boy's stomach grumbled and his arms instinctively dropped to wrap around his belly, he gradually slowed to a stop on the sidewalk, eyes gazing off past the railing beside him that expanded into a network of busy city streets. It wasn't unnatural for Yuuma to be hungry at any given time; he was always on the move and therefore always expending energy, constantly needing to refuel... yet this sort of hunger, the empty gurgle in his stomach, this was something else. The usually bright duelist's eyes seemed somewhat clouded for an instant as he wandered closer to that railing, releasing his arms to rest his hands against the edge, staring out at the tiny specs of civilians moving about.
In a city so vastly inhabited, why was it that he felt so lonely? It wasn't even particularly hunger in general that he felt, but a longing for his old life - family dinners at the table, eating with other people... he missed it. Even with those he'd met here, there was a sliver of alienation that pierced his heart. He craved interaction, connection... those warm sit down meals ready for him, with smiling faces to greet him. His sister, his grandmother... his precious friends. It was starting to hit him hard how far away from home he really was. Letting out a sigh, an unnaturally thoughtful expression had gathered upon his features, appearing to be rather out of it - and it wasn't until the stranger approached him that he snapped back to the world he was forced to face.
"... Eh?" The small, curious noise of acknowledgement came before anything else, as his head turned and wide eyes observed the approaching stranger. A bit confused at first, Yuuma glanced over his face, his clothes, the Ouija board tucked under his arm; but most important of all, his words, as this person seemed to be seeking company just as much as Yuuma was --
Because he really didn't want to be alone right then.
"Yeah, I'm totally free!" In the span of a second, the boy's face contorted into an immensely bright grin, and he pushed off the railing, spinning on his sneakers to more properly face the other. It seemed his overly friendly, overly trusting nature completely disregarded the questionable looking Ouija board, and instead openly welcomed the company -- in fact, he'd probably really needed that right now. "No way I'd ever pass up a meal~ You have something in mind? I'm starved!" A boyish chuckle followed, and then suddenly he thrust his hand out energetically, offering in greeting. "I'm Tsukumo Yuuma! Nice to meet'cha!"
Too Beautiful for a Place Like This || OPEN
As a matter of fact, Rei was proud of how well he handled the scientists revealing that he was somehow trapped in this new strange city. To be sure, there had been some whimpering and incoherent distress at first, but Rei was far too mature to let it completely get the better of him.
The minutes he spent on the train to Sector 3 was not much of a problem, either. It was when he arrived at Sector 3 and searching for his housing in District Gamma that his thoughts became out of control again.
âEwwwewww ewww ewww ewww. Gross! How could anyone expect me to live like this?
The locals stared and so far ignored him enough, so far as Rei pretended the comments were not about him and they were most certainly not coming from that group of intertwined limbs that reeked of alcohol in the alleyway. He had to keep moving. District GammaâŚDistrict GammaâŚ
Rei grew even more tense, he was losing daylight and he was obviously far too beautiful to be caught dead or worse in a place like Sector 3. His hand clutched to his chest, and incidentally to his backpack.
âGood, I remembered to quadruple-strap it as always, for safety and efficiency. Why did I not invest in the octostrap model? Surely it would not be too excessive now?
Okay. He was too busy trying to look like he wasnât panicking that he ended up kind-of, sort-of lost. The darkness that seemed to creep upon him suddenly paralyzed the teenage boy in his track. Reiâs thoughts raced frantically as he thought of self-defense in case things got really bad. He did track, he was at least sure of his running. But what if they caught him? What if?
Rei thought he heard someone approach him. And tried his best not to look so tense:
âW-whoâs there?!â
âŚnailed it. Rei hoped that his control of his voice didnât betray him, at least. Oh who was he kidding Rei is planning out escape routes.
A part of Yuuma never got used to Sector Three - it's dark streets, the countless gunshots, the shady deals that took place in broad daylight. Whoever thought it was fine to house a thirteen year old in the even sketchier District Gamma must have had a morbid sense of humor. There were two things that worked against Yuuma in this particular sector; one was his extreme naivety in trusting just about anyone, which easily spelled danger with the sort of crew that lurked these streets. The other was his overbearing confidence; no matter how questionable this placed looked, it was just another adventure - another challenge to overcome. Unfortunately, the fact remained that he was, indeed, still a thirteen year old boy, and no matter how proudly he could march through the streets, it wasn't that difficult to startle him with a loud noise or something jumping out. And in these particular streets, that happened pretty often.
He'd been on his way back to his residence after a long day, and at first, his confidence was fine. But things started to get darker as the sun set. The larger stray dogs had started to lurk, and he began to feel a little unsettled, so he'd innocently approached a stranger to ask for directions - whom, when they turned around, were brandishing quite the hefty firearm and an intimidating expression. That was the last straw; putting his hands up in the air, the teen forced out a quick 'w-wrong person!!' and then bolted. He had to get out of here, back to his residence; and in his blind running, he hadn't noticed the person he had been approaching--
âW-whoâs there?!â
"UaaAAAHHHHHHH--!!!"
His first instinct was to yell. Loudly. Which probably only scared the other guy even more. He didn't even process what the other was saying so much as there was another person here in general; it wasn't until he had already skidded to a stop and tumbled backwards to the ground had his panicked expression locked onto... what clearly did not look like a gangster. Not with those nerdy glasses. The fear that had crossed his face suddenly melted into relief, laughing nervously to try and ease the tension between them both.
"W-whoa, s-sorry! You startled me!!" ... Coming from the kid who just screamed in response to an innocent question. "Ehehe, you just never know what sort of people you'll meet around here, with all the..." There was a pause in his speech as a gunshot sounded off somewhere in the distance. He gulped, but grinned wider to try and cover it up. "... stuff... that goes on." Look confident. Act cool. You're totally still brave. Picking himself up off the ground, he dusted his clothes briefly before returning his (still somewhat nervous) attention towards the guy who looked to be in the same situation as he was. "So, uh... what're you doing out here? Just curious if you were looking for something; 'cause y'know, two is always better than one, right?" Another nervous laugh. Yeah, definitely not scared to be alone. Not at all.
Fate Broken [Open/Intro]
Everything âhitâ Aichi a bit too late for him to react in a timely fashion. As well as planting himself firmly on the ground. So that he wouldnât fall directly over when the other had slammed into him. Maybe he should have been paying more attention, then this wouldnât have happened to him..
" O-oh um. Itâs fine, so donât worry about it." Well it could have been better, but he wasnât hurt so he couldnât really be angry at the other male for it. He had at least said sorry, so thatâs all that Aichi had really needed or wanted to at least hear.
" A-ah yeah!" He felt horrible for having one of the others cards under his foot. Seeing as heâd hate it to happen with his own deck of cards. So without saying much more he moved back slowly as to not hurt the card more before picking the card up. He made it a point to make sure it wasnât damaged too much, or dirty before giving the card back.
â..Iâve never seen a card like that before.â He played Cardfight!!Vanguard but they didnât look like any cards from that.
"Thanks!!" Yuuma's response was perky, accepting the returned card back gratefully and safely returning it with the rest. The care that the other boy had taken in observing it for damage beforehand made him happy somehow; living in this cold city, where no one had even heard of Duel Monsters... for someone to take that consideration for one of his cards, it lifted his spirits a bit. Admiring them with a satisfied hum, it seemed the whole run in with the bike and crashing into the blue-haired teen had already completely rolled off his shoulders. "Phew, that was a close call~" He'd been about to put the cards back in his deck box - a sorrowfully half empty deck box, even with the packs he had - when the other suddenly spoke up, his eyes directed towards the fanned out card backs; though Yuuma's attention drew upwards, it seemed just as quickly that his shoulders sunk a bit. This sort of response was getting to be all too familiar.
"Haa~ah, that seems to be the general opinion around here..." His cheeks puffed up slightly as he half whined, showing disappointment. "I guess Duel Monsters just isn't that popular in this city, huh? What I'd give for a real duel right now...!" He'd previously scoured the streets to find more duelists; back in his home universe, it seemed everyone and their dog (quite literally, in some situations) had a deck. Here, aside from the sparse few friends from home he'd run into, it seemed like such a thing didn't exist. For a boy to come from a world where everything was settled with cards, to a place that barely even acknowledged them - it was disheartening. It was almost difficult for him to function without settling things through duels!
However, there was something in the other boy's curiosity that perked Yuuma's own; the way he'd cared for the card under foot, and his interest in what many around here would have seen as insignificant. Yuuma responded positively back, reaching out to the shyer teen with his own radiant energy.
"You wanna see?" Flashing a warm grin, he selected two cards from his small collection - a Monster and a Magic Card - and, while fanning out the remainder to show them off, he offered the chosen two to the other, if he wanted to examine them further. An awkward laugh followed through his smile, adding an afterthought. "I'm having a hard time finding more of 'em, seeing as those scientists took my real deck away from me... But they're still cool, right? It's Duel Monsters~!" He put emphasis on the last two words, speaking them proudly - the tone of his voice showcasing how closely he held the game to his heart.
Fate Broken [Open/Intro]
He had thought it would all just go back to normal after the world was safe from the Link Joker Invasion. Maybe the rest of his world was, but he couldnât say the same for himself anymore. Being here at least, as part of a so called experiment. He wasnât worrying about himself at the moment, he couldnât help but worry about what happened to his friends. Though now that he thought about it, he probably should look out for himself while he stayed here.
" District Alpha huh?.." he wasnât all to sure where that was.. but by the layout of the city it would have to be around Sector 1, or so he hopped. Thatâs why he came to look around in the Sector.. Maybe he should just as someone for directions, though his shyness got in the way of this, he didnât want to bother anyone.
Usually when crossing the street, one should be aware of their surroundings; instead, Yuuma was completely draw into the fanned out set of cards he had clutched in his hand. His eyes scanned them carefully as he walked, switching their orders and humming to himself over his thoughts. He was trying to strategize with what few cards he had - making them work even if his signature deck was taken from him, at least until he could purchase more - but doing so as he crossed a busy intersection... maybe not the best idea. When he began on the opposite side of the street, he had the right of way; but the light had since turned red. It was only the sharp ringing of a bicycle's bell and the shouting of it's irate rider that suddenly drew Yuuma's attention out of his cards... moments away from being struck by it.
"W-whoaaa!!" Reflexes suddenly kicked in and the young duelist leapt off of the road, out of the bicycle's path as it zoomed past - saving himself from the collision... but, in the process, running straight into a rather lost-looking civilian near the side of the road. While better than getting hit by a bike, the force sent Yuuma's cards scattering around them, brown backs fluttering to the ground as the young champion stumbled backwards to regain his footing. His wide eyes blinked, taking in the blue haired boy that he'd run into - then drifting to the ground, staring at his cards as a distressed noise escaped his throat.Immediately he swooped down to scoop them back into his hands, collecting those nearest to him before stopping for a second to flick his head back upwards, chirping apologetic cheerfulness towards the person he'd almost barreled over.
"Sorry about that!! I guess we both were kinda zoned out, huh?" Straightening his posture and taking a step closer, one hand collected the gathered cards; his other pointed downwards, tapping the air in the direction of the teen's foot - or, more rather, one of his cards that had lodged itself underneath the other's shoe in all the commotion. With a wide grin, he laughed cheekily. "You wouldn't mind grabbing that for me, would ya? I'd be so lost without these...!"
