myristicisms:
Ever the charmer, although it wasn’t as though Jill grew used to just how romantic her lover was when the two actually had time to spend with another. Being back still held a strange feeling, something about having been gone for so long only to return and have things mostly return to normal save for being stuck at home whenever the B.S.A.A didn’t need her for tests or when there wasn’t any grocery shopping to do just felt odd. Even moreso was that she couldn’t accompany Carlos on missions anymore which often left her pacing their home anxiously until news of his safety or his return managed to ease her twisting nerves. “ No, we’d better not have that either because I’ll drag you from whatever afterlife there is and give you a piece of my mind. ”
Amusement lingered in her voice, body gently pressing against his the moment she feels his arm tighten around her body, thumb gently lingering over his upper lip, the corners of her mouth quirking into a fond smile. The domesticity was calming, something about being wrapped in Carlos’s arms fully reminding her that she’s alive and home with the most wonderful man. A soft sigh breaks past her temporary silence, face briefly flushing while listening to her partner speak, watches him intently with the same loving expression carved into her features.
“ I’m glad I’m not the only one then, I’ve missed you so damn much. ” She mumbles, eyes brightening ever so slightly before yet another laugh rumbles through her chest. “ Let’s get takeout tonight, I want you all for myself tonight if that’s alright. ”
Despite the fact she’s no longer on the field, no longer part of all the action, there’s a big part of him that still worries even after all this time. Far too many people have double crossed him and many other people he’s known in his life, there would always be the chance that someone else- someone he trusts could do the same thing. Then there is the tests they keep doing, his distaste for them is obvious every time she is called for them. What more is there to test?
A quiet laugh escapes him with a hot puff of air, pushing any negative thoughts somewhere deep just so he could enjoy his time back with her, the time he had missed out on. He’d make it up to her of course, he always did. Carlos leans forward, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head as he listens to her speak, a grin growing on the corners of his lips at her little demands. He’d meet them of course, he’d do anything that she wanted.
❝ Takeout it is~ I’ll let you pick what you want, I could do with anything other than those plain ass sandwiches they give us. ❞ Another chuckle as dark eyes look down at her with a fond softness. His own hand moves to her face, brushing his thumb against her pale cheek. ❝ Don’t worry carina, you’re going to have me for as long as you like~. ❞
bsaascaptain:
Chris doesn’t mean to offend ; hardly anything he ever says is meant to. Most of the time, Chris is a nice guy. He’s caring, dedicated to his job, and a good older brother, or at least he likes to believe he is. Insults are hard to come by with Chris ; you’d really have to piss him off to receive one. Only a select few in his lifetime have ever actually had the pleasure of hearing venom come from his lips. For a long while, after Carlos had spoke, there is silence. Perhaps Carlos wonders if the man has a sense of humour but then a short chuckle is leaving his words at what the man said.
He looks at the gun in his hand, before nimble hands are checking over it, for any damage or recoil that might need to be fixed. Once more ammo is slotted into the gun is when the Captain finally speaks up, brown hues flickering to the other man, before he states simply. “ You’re not as stealthy as you think you are. ”
For a moment he wonders if he pushed it too far, over stepped the mark that came between a captain and his team. The quite lingers for only a moment when a small chuckle breaks the silence and Carlos finds himself able to fully relax in front of the other. Cool, seems that Chris can be pretty chill when someone isn’t exactly on his bad side, Jill had told him not to worry too much about being on operations with him.
❝ Oh. ❞ He doesn’t exactly know what he thought was going to be brought up, but his stealth wasn’t the part that he would have considered the problem. Then, he had never been formally trained as a soldier and had only been taught to shot in order to kill. ❝ Is that so... Well perhaps you might need to give me some pointers so that I don’t get our asses attacked. ❞
Chris: You’re not stealthy enough
Carlos: Well I’m sorry the clap of my ass cheeks keeps alerting all the monsters

@mercenario | Carlos Oliveira says;;
❝ You’d think I’d let you go without seeing me for too long, cariño~ ❞
Soft laughter rings through their shared home, pale hands gently resting against the larger ones that held her in place. A smile graces her tired features, head tilting slightly to catch gentle brown eyes with her usual piercing blue gaze. Oh how she missed the man before her in ways that would never be spoken because Jill had no words to express just how much she’d yearned to be in Carlos’s arms once again. For a moment she can’t help but to remember something he’d told her back in Raccoon about not leaving her in a Carlosless world and a new fondness settles into her rapidly beating heart.
Even after all the time they’d spent together he still managed to make her feel like a giddy child with a crush without even trying, and that in of itself was something that left her even more fond of the man. “ I’d never entertain even thinking you’d be away from me too long, you’re a man of your word after all and you promised you wouldn’t leave me in a cruel world without you. ”
Amusement was so clearly present in her voice, bringing one hand up to gently cup the side of his face before lovingly stroking his cheek with her thumb, she begins to speak again. “ Welcome home handsome, hope you didn’t miss me too much on your travels because I haven’t made dinner yet and I’m starving. ”
The two weeks had been the two longest weeks of his life. It wasn’t so often that he went away anymore, he couldn’t stand the thought of leaving her alone for any longer than that amount of time. The last few years had been rough, and after losing her once he’s honestly terrified of losing her again. ❝ A cold, cruel, Carlos-less world. We certainly couldn’t be having that now could we. ❞
A sigh of content escapes him as her palm moves to cup his face, being in her proximity, her warmth was what he had been waiting for. He gently moves his head, lips pressing softly against her hand softly as his other arm tightens around her waist. Carlos would just be happy to settle down for a little while longer, hope that the next call he got would be at least another month or two away so they could actually spend some decent time together. Besides, he had some important questions that he wanted to ask.
❝ Of course I missed you, not a day goes by where I don’t think about you. ❞ He replies softly, voice dropping to whisper despite there being no one around to hear their conversation. ❝ Don’t you even think about cooking tonight, dinner’s on me. Just depends if you want to go out or get a take out, mi vida. ❞
“ don’t take this the wrong way, but you don’t exactly blend in. ” @bsaascaptain
rp starters // always accepting
Don’t take this the wrong way was often considered a bad way to start a sentence, mainly because Carlos feels like he’s instantly going to take whatever the BSAA captain says some sort of insult. He bites his tongue for a moment, dark eyes glancing up from the gun in his hands as he looks over the other for a moment. If there was anything he was quite good at, it was turning any sort of situation fairly lighthearted - hoping to show that he hadn’t taken any of his comments the wrong way. ❝ Alright Captain, why don’t I blend in? I’m not wearing my pink shirt today so I take it that you mean something else. ❞

“why do you have that look on your face?”
“finish what you’re doing, we have to talk.”
“what have you done to yourself?”
“did you do something different with your hair?”
“it doesn’t do any good to get worked up.”
“when was the last time we had a real conversation.”
“are you in the witness protection program, or what?”
“there’s something wrong with me.”
“no, i don’t hate you.”
“hey stupid.”
“we’re aren’t them.”
“looks like i’ll live long enough to make you pay.”
“you know you’re wrong.”
“i don’t understand, why are you doing this?”
“now, before i say anything, promise me you’ll stay calm.”
“what makes me so special?”
“you have no idea what i’ve been through.”
“you really don’t have to do that, not for me.”
“did you really think you’d get a second chance?”
"how about we don’t do that.”
“i have a lot going for me, but humility is not one of them.”
“you’re the worst.”
“i don’t need you right now.”
“don’t just stand there, looking at me.”
“i thought you were supposed to call me.”
“take my hand.”
“i need you.”
“you’re allowed to need help sometimes.”
“for someone who doesn’t like to feel things, you sure feel a lot of it out loud.”
“when this is all over, i want it to be you and me.”
“why won’t you tell me what happened?”
“you don’t know what this means to me.
“i know it doesn’t make sense.”

“did you find what you were looking for?”
"you knew and you didn’t even warn me?”
“well, i guess that’s broken.”
“i thought it was part of the act.”
“you think u don’t know you’re only here because they sent you?”
“you promised to call me if you didn’t know what to wear.”
“you can keep a secret, can’t you?”
“how could you do this to me?”
“put the gun down, dearest. i have news!”
“i know you don’t have any reason to trust me, but you need to know something.”
“if you’re here to tell me what happened last night, someone beat you to it.”
“people think i’m weird.”
“i think i’m losing myself again.”
“you can’t be here.”
“i wish you’d come to the funeral.”
“do you know what today is?”
“so, you broke my favourite mug… and you’re breaking up with me?”
“i need to get out.”
“it’s like i’m cursed or something.”
“you are remarkably well-behaved tonight, what have you been up to?”
“you gonna eat that?”
“sir, the pony rides are for children only.”
“i don’t want you to worry about that anymore.”
“we’ll never make it in time.”
“you’d be late for your own funeral.”
“you should have seen it coming.”
“oh, good, you’re here! hold this.”
“why can’t you just be happy for me?”
“on a scale of one to ten, how do you feel about nachos right now?”
“is this how you flirt with everyone?”
“how much longer till we’re there?”
“what have you done?”
“it’s time for you to repay that debt you owe me.”
“where did you get that? who gave it to you?”
“what kind of mother has thoughts like that?”
“i know I haven’t been what you needed, but i’m here, and i wanna help.”
“i never want to hear you say that again.”
“you’re all i have.”
“i know it’s not perfect, but i did follow the recipe this time.”
“i was doing so well until you showed up.”
“don’t eat that! i made it ‘specially for our guest.”
“it’s not that i don’t like my life, it’s that i don’t have the energy to enjoy it.”
“how can you stand this place?”
“don’t take this the wrong way, but you don’t exactly blend in.”
“you need to stop.”
“i don’t like that look, what happened?”
“is that seriously your password?”
“what’s your problem?”
“you had no right to use it without asking.”
“oh, wow, you weren’t kidding.”
“i couldn’t trust my own parents to protect me.”
“i’m surprised you haven’t been arrested yet. wait, no, i’m not.”
“why do you want to help me?”
“ten bucks for that piece of crap?”
“we have to hurry, they’re coming!”
“hey, look what came in the mail!”
“do you want to get a drink or something?”
“please tell me you didn’t eat that.”
“the worst part is you didn’t even notice.”
“if i wanted help, i would have asked.”
“wanna tell me what’s going on with your grades?”
“you need to leave.”
“talk to me, okay? i need to know what’s going on.”
“i do blame you.”
“sometimes life deals you a bad hand, but you can still play your cards right and win.”
“you’re no longer useful to me.”
“i’m not good with sarcasm: if you don’t like me, just say it.”
