Danielle understands the allure of corsetry, and has perfected the construction and design of every corset she creates. Her passion began during her degree in fashion design, and she followed it up by a second degree in period costuming, specialising in the history of corsetry.
This led her to the exacting world of made-to-measure bridal wear, where she worked closely with each client to create the ultimate dress for their dream day, sewing on crystals, beads and delicate lace by hand.
For several years, Danielle worked as a pattern cutter and production co-ordinator for a company supplying major UK and European high street stores. Attention to detail and insistence on the highest quality were paramount for every order, and she applies the same rigorous standards to her own handmade creations.
She has been designing and making corsets for exclusive brand Kiss Me Deadly since 2011, and in 2012 she set up her own label, Ava Corsetry, inspired by the sophistication and glamour embodied by Ava Gardner. Her years of experience mean that the corsets she creates are exquisitely beautiful, crafted from the finest fabrics, trimmings and lace, and they are also a delight to wear, whether for work or play! She herself is a dedicated corset wearer, and is often to be found sewing late into the night creating another stunning piece for a burlesque night or photoshoot.
Danielle currently lives on Guernsey with her partner, four sewing machines, and a folk boat named Chantalle.
