i am absolutely in shock. obviously my opinion of anne rice was always really mixed, but she was still the author of my all time favorite book and i admired her so much as a fellow writer coping with tragedy and trauma. i'm not usually one for sharing these kinds of sentiments online, but... yeah...

i feel for her family, i just can't really be too upset beyond a sort of romantic melancholy. she's as immortal to me as lestat for what she put out into the world. in that sense she has what i've always wanted for the end of my life, and i can't help but be almost happy for her
