As they were going through Hotlands, Chara had already seemed a little more fidgety and nervous then usual. And finally, half way through, Chara had to stop Frisk. “Hey... kid? I... look, I really need to tell you something important. About... Cherie, and why I think Undyne said what she said...”
Frisk finishes the puzzle they had been doing and continues making their way forward. “I’ve been wondering about that since she said it.What Flowey said about them is kind of bothering me too… they were the best at killing? what’s that about?”
Chara decides not to say anything about the first part. They nod and give a small smile. “Right, right... no way to go back now, so, onwards!” They agree, before sighing. “Hey, maybe... maybe I’ll be able to find them after this? When they realize no more humans are gonna fall down. And I can convince Cherie to maybe chill.”

“I don’t know, kiddo... I don’t know if they would listen to someone like you,” Chara comments, shaking their head. They stopped and looked at Frisk. “....They... they wouldn’t because they would know what you’re doing. Cherie is really smart, you... you would have had to be like Bravery and kill from the beginning? They saw they could manipulate Bravery into their mindset, if given the opportunity.”

“Yeah... It was Cherie... they... they were talking to Bravery, and I wasn’t completely sure what they were saying... but I could hear Cherie say something about killing. We were close enough to where Mom’s home was that I knew I had to do something. Cherie disappeared when they saw me, and that was when I finally started kicking and screaming, and telling him anything I could to make him stop. I got through to him, and he stopped. But I never saw Cherie after that, because none of the other kids would fight monsters,” they finished, sighing softly and shaking their head. They still didn’t understand what was going on with their twin. They weren’t sure if that really was Cherie, but...
“I don’t know, kid... and I don’t know why everyone is suddenly bringing them up...”

Chara sighs and gives a small shrug before looking back to them. They give a faint smile and move to be more or less, next to them. “Thanks... just... hope you don’t change your mind,” they murmur before finally looking back over at the other human.
“You know how I said I hadn’t seen Cherie since dying? I... kinda lied, because... well, the Cherie I saw? It... it wasn’t the one I grew up with,” they started, still reeling from the experience even when it was easily five years ago. Five years... wow...
“I was helping another human. They had an orange soul, Bravery, we’ll call him. He... didn’t take the path you or most of the kids did. He... fought. He didn’t really listen to me, and maybe it was because I wasn’t much older than him, he was stubborn, and just ready to go headlong into anything he needed to. Well... the more he fought, and the more I tried to get him to stop... I saw someone else. Someone else next to him...”

“Well, you see... you know how everyone’s been looking at me? I... I almost feel like it’s... it’s because something knows I know what they mean...” Chara mumbles and sighs, looking away from Frisk. Their hands open and close a few times, not really sure what to do with them before they finally look at the human once more.
“Kid... You have to promise me you won’t hate me for keeping this from you... and... that you won’t hate Cherie. They...They’re a good kid, I promise that to you. They’re just... really hurting.”
"maybe we'll figure it out later? everyone keeps talking about it for some reason so we'll probably get more information as we go?" they say still taken aback by the mention of killing.
“I guess so... Let’s keep on going, I guess, we’re getting there!” Chara replies, hoping to sound more reassuring now. But that last line really had made them worried. It echoed in their mind, over and over. What... could this mean...
Frisk looks stunned. "What?! why would anyone kill any monsters?! that's horrible!" they protest.
“I know, I know. And believe me... I... Well, I had a human before...” they started befor shaking their head and straightening up. “But.... But this means something and I’m not sure what, kiddo... But everyone keeps mentions Cherie, and now killing? I... really don’t get it.”
well I'm sure everything will be fine! just need to keep going forward with determination!
“I-I guess so... right. We have to keep going, we’re... we’re so close to the barrier now!” Chara points out, clenching their fists and looking more determined then ever. “We have to press forward.”
"Hey chara? what did Undyne mean? how would dust do anything? like is she saying that we need to not clean or something?" they ask.
Oh hell. That’s right. The kid, they... they have never hurt a monster. They don’t know what that means... Chara hesitates before slowly looking over at them. “...It... It means kill. At least for Monsters. When you kill a monster, they turn to dust, and their soul shatters. I... I don’t know why Undyne is saying that...” they go on, already very uncomfortable.
After the small talk, then it was time to go through Snowdin. The journey continued with them meeting Sans, talking with the comedic skeleton, before also meeting his brother Papyrus. From there, it was a journey of continuing to learn the ways of dodging, acting and sparing the monsters as they came to them. The different puzzles seemed to bring a smile to the new human’s face as they got to know the brothers and continuing forward.Chara was having fun with the child, teaching them about their surroundings and getting to talk more about the town. They would go a bit ahead of the other kid in order to point something out to them, or warn them about something. At least this one seemed interested in what they had to say and was willing to listen to them.
Before they knew it, Chara was having to help the new kid with Papyrus’s battle, helping them with some of the timing, coaching them through, and maybe having to build them back up after getting brought to the “dungeon”. But it wasn’t too long before they were finally to the end of the battle.
“I HAVE FAILED TO CAPTURE EVEN SOMEONE AS WEAK AS YOU! AND I STILL HAVE NO FRIENDS!” Papyrus goes on sadly. Chara looks to the other kid, giving them a shrug.
“You’ve got a choice here, kiddo. Whatever you want to do,” they point out to them. And that was when the human decided on telling him this.
“I’ll be your friend! Always!” the human decides with a bright grin. And with that, a friendship had blossomed. And all seemed back to normal. Time to continue on with the regular...
“....” Papyrus suddenly looked directly at Chara, just as Toriel had done and said something rather cryptic. “Cherie... The Child who sleeps near to the void...”
Chara had tensed up all over again, blinking a bit as they stared back at him. Papyrus then continued on in his chipper tone and going off on his own.
“There’s... a lot of talk about Cherie...” Frisk suddenly comments softly. “Are... you sure they don’t talk about them all the time?”
“No, I know for a fact they don’t. They don’t even bring me up, kiddo. This is getting weird...”
Afterwards, came the date, then going off towards Waterfall. Chara looks to Frisk and hums a bit. “Just be really careful around here, kiddo. This... is where we meet someone pretty.... intense,” they warn the human softly. They continued onward, where Frisk comes into contact with Undyne for the first time. It was definitely an adventure, going through Waterfall, meeting the different faces and remembering their own journeys through here with different humans. The journey consisted of new friendships, phone calls and learning experiences. Temmie Village was quite the experience... And sending her to cooleg was a challenge. But with enough determination ( and g ), they managed that too.
After many tries, they finally get to the last battle with Undyne. Normally she would tell a full story about the Monsters of the underground, but it seems like she isn’t here to mess around. They end up launching into battle almost immediately, while Chara stands behind Frisk.
“Okay.... Just so you know, while your SOUL is green? You can’t flee. And with Undyne? She... well, doesn’t seem to care for your Mercy at the moment,” they explain, next helping them to learn what the green SOUL’s power does.
It was a tireless endeavor getting Frisk to the point that they could truly have mercy on Undyne. However, instead of leaving, she ends up looking directly at Chara, just like everyone else, giving a kind of creepy grin at them. “ The dust of many will bring forth the key...” she suddenly says before suddenly turning and leaving. Chara was shivering a bit from her words, even when they were standing in Hotland. And they couldn’t even actually feel anything. Why... Why would she say that?
toriel approaches the child "What a terrible creature, torturing such a poor, innocent youth...Ah, do not be afraid, my child. I am Toriel, caretaker of the Ruins... I pass through this place every day to see if anyone has fallen down You are the first human to come here in a long time. Come! I will guide you through the catacombs. This way."
Frisk looks wary of the new comer having just been betrayed by another creature that seemed to be kind. They look to where they last saw Chara for reassurance. They decide not to wait for a response and reluctantly follow the tall goat lady. “Uh… ok Thank you..” they say still not sure what to make of the current situation.
“No... They’re not. And if I’m honest, I’m actually really not sure. Ever since we died, I haven’t been able to find Cherie, no matter how much I tried, you know? It... kinda sucks, you know?” they explain with a sigh. Chara then gives a small shrug. “I don’t know... Maybe we’ll be able to find them eventually. Why don’t we get going?”

Chara followed the human out into the snowy forest, looking all around them for a moment. As weird as it might sound now, they really missed feeling the chill of the air like this. They stand next to the kid and sigh when they finally were asked the question that they knew was coming. Chara looks over towards the other.
“I’m here. And... Well, she’s never talked about them before, it’s... strange,” Chara mumbles before looking down. “Well, kiddo... That was my twin. So, now you know of two of us kids that she had, heh.”
