Ooc: I think I'm gonna just officially reboot this blog, I'll be starting fresh. All posts prior to this can now be considered not canon, what details of Rebby's past and stuff like that will still be considered canon is still to be decided, cross that bridge when we get to it. I'm not gonna bother going back and deleting the old posts but I will be deleting all the asks currently in my inbox. Also I may not be very active since I have a job that's keeping me pretty busy these days but we'll just sorta play it by ear.

How is everyone else doing this fine day? I've been working in my garden and it's doing quite well so I've been in high spirits lately.

I've been.... away for some time, haven't I? I've been working in my gardens, mostly. Some of my plants are beginning their blooms and I'm quite looking forward to it, it's something I've found I never really tire of. Regardless, I did male this blog for a reason, I really aught to try to use it.

Have I missed much in my absence?

I knew I wasn't completely misremembering, I found a copy I kept of one of my daughter's poems that is now being attributed to an "unknown author" and my copy clearly shows that it was indeed published under the name "Eritha of Mycenae". so why is it now being treated as though it was published anonymously? I don't understand, and honestly I'm a bit concerned.

No wonder she's going anonymous. You know how odd it'd be to find out (as a normal person knowing humans die at a around 80-100 years) that some writing from centuries ago and present were being written by the same exact individual?

I mean, I suppose that's true.... but I could have sworn I remember reading some of these poems with them having been published under her name, my memory may not be the greatest but.... I do try when it comes to my children. Besides, I've never known her to be averse to being seen as odd, through much of her youth she was used to people knowing who and what I am and knowing that she's my daughter. Perhaps I am being paranoid, but I think that's rather normal for a dad when it comes to his kids, is it not?

How old is your youngest daughter?

She would be a young adult by now I'd imagine. Chronology she'd be..... definitely a good several millennia old, she was born in what I believe modern scholars refer to as the Mycenaean era of Greece.

I'm sorry for your losses. I hope someday you can get back in contact with your living children and that they're doing well.

.... thank you. I take comfort in the fact that most of my children who have died have done so after living out long happy lives and died peacefully. of course, not all did and I..... do morn still for those who didn't. I do also wish that I can get back into contact with my living children, I'll admit that... perhaps in some ways it's for the best that I am no longer in their lives. not to mention the fact that they may not want me in their lives any more after I left them so suddenly and without explanation....

You have kids?

I do, I've had quite a few over the years in fact. some of them have passed on from various causes, most cases being old age as they did not inherit immortality. there are a few, however, that would still be alive assuming nothing happened to them....

I wonder how my children are doing these days..... I've tried to somewhat keep tabs on at least some of them but during my isolation I lost touch with all of them..... I hope they're alright.

I admittedly can't offer much, especially seeing as we are still essentially strangers, but I would like to offer at least a distraction of sorts, if I may? We never did get much of a chance to properly talk, I can't imagine I was a very good conversationalist while drunk, and I would like to talk with you more, this time while I'm sober.

If it's any consolation, I myself have been in - and been seen in - far worse states. I'd be disgustingly hypocritical if I thought any less of you over it.

Regardless, I digress. I'll admit, I struggle to really talk about myself, I'm rather boring so there's not much to say that isn't mostly complaining. I will try though.... hm, mostly these days I've been tending to my garden, mostly medicinal plants. One of the first humans I ever bonded with worked with herbal medicine and he taught me much, since then I've never lost the interest.

I feel like I'm simply saying the same things over and over just in slightly different ways. It seems my isolation and my struggles reaching out are all I can seem to talk about. Gosh, I really am quite boring aren't I?

I do eventually want to start getting out physically more, although the thought makes me..... anxious. I'm not sure where I'd even go though, the world has changed so much during my time in isolation, and I've lost contact with all those I once knew..... maybe it's better if I simply stay as I am, still isolated physically but reaching out through digital means.

The young Prince had be allowed to explore the mortal world and he intended to take advantage of that. he wandered aimlessly for a time, simply taking in the unfamiliar sights and sounds and sensations. eventually a fleck of vibrant colour amongst the green grass caught his eye. filled with curiosity, he scurried over to investigate. he found a small plant with a brightly coloured head waving cheerfully in the wind, eventually he would come to know it has a flower but in that moment all he knew was that it was one of the prettiest things he'd ever seen. he cautiously reached out to touch it, eyes wide with wonder. the petals were soft between his fingers, but also far more delicate than he realized, even his cautious touch was enough to crush them.

for a moment, the young Prince despaired, his Father's voice echoing in his mind reminding him of his predisposition to destruction. that was, until another fleck of bright colour caught his eye. he gasped, quickly running over to it and sure enough he found yet another one of those beautiful, colourful plants. this one he grasped carefully by it's stem, delicately plucking it from the ground. he turned and tilted the little flower in his hand, examining every inch, eyes wide with wonder. after awhile a thought occurred to him; if there was two than surely there must be more. and so, he set off with the intent to find as many of these fascinating little plants as he could before he'd inevitably have to return home.
