I've been looking at my book of Claude Monet's water lilies. I got it when I saw a Monet exhibition here in Vienna, and I love those water lilies more than any other paintings I have ever seen live in museums. And I wanted to try my hand at copying the great master's style. I painted this one in the beginning of the Covid-19 isolation time, while I still had a dayjob to go to every day, but was nearly the only person in an empty, spooky building.
