Ok since apparently the mandalorian jet packs can fly from underground to outer space. Then what was the point of din and Paz not having enough fuel to chase down the dragon that got Ragnar????

The book of boba fett: the dark saber “hilt is of a quality of beskar I’ve never seen before.”Forged a thousand years ago.
The Mandalorian season 3: haha yeah, a shitty quality am I right. Probably rusted over inside. 😜
Really a fan of Din Djarin picking up more advanced weapons as he goes through the shields like some video game character
Din being badass and taking out stormtroopers left and right: talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique
Din failing to pull the blaster from the stormtrooper before he falls: haha idiot that’s the din djarin I know and love
The mandalorian s3 ep 8 review: 8/10
Lots of good, lots of not so good
Firstly can Din finish fighting one battle by himself please? He’s been rescued 3 separate times in 3 separate fights. A recurring thing this season is that none of the characters are capable of defeating one bad guy without help from someone else randomly dropping in
The clones came out of nowhere, and they were destroyed, out of nowhere. All I’m asking for is a little bit of cohesiveness in the plot.
Ok but what happened to the tie fighters and stormtroopers after the explosion? Did they surrender? We’re they defeated? I’m so confused?
The 3 separate storylines of Din, Bo Katan, and Axe were a bit jarring, because they didn’t have the same sense of urgency, so when they cut to another plot line, it was abrupt
Could have spent more time in the underground farm
The dark saber????? Like what??????
Probably the best executed episode of the season. Again, not a high bar. But this episode has proper tension and epic fight scenes that weren’t clunky and slow. Din was a badass, Bo was a badass, the armorer was a badass, everyone’s badass this episode. And for that, I’ll give half a point more now that I think about it
8.5
The armorer: This is the way (fucking finally you finally adopted the kid you fucking idiot)
Din: This is the way (…)
Other Mandalorians: This is the way (psst I don’t think he can hear you)
The Armorer: This is the way (I fucking wondered why he didn’t take the hint back in season 1)
Din: This is the way (why are we repeating)
Ghost Paz: This is the way (you switched to a different frequency with all that banging inside the helmet idiot)
One of the problems with The Mandalorian season 3 is that there are too many Mandalorians. Between Din’s covert and the nite owls and the survivors on Mandalore, there’s gotta be at least a hundred. And yet, besides the protagonists that get more than a throw away line of dialogue, they are nameless, faceless, they have no personality and are simply in the background obeying whatever the plot requires them to. They don’t feel like individuals. In season 1, Paz was just a minor one off character, yet he had a distinct personality and interactions with Din. In season 3, even though the Mandalorians quadrupled in numbers, there aren’t any new named characters that are given “heroic moments”.
It’s like beyond the protagonists, everyone else is the same. The world building is incomplete. The theme of this season is about Mandalorians and how they embrace being mandalorian. Besides the armorer and Bo Katan, we don’t see anyone else really discussing it. There are two distinct sides, and no room for variation in both backstory and belief.
I really wish this season had more religious themed topics. It was a huge deal to Din that he took off his helmet and meeting other mandalorians that don’t follow the way. I would have liked to see people within Din’s covert questioning it or one of the nite owls admiring their belief. Beyond what they are supposed to represent.
The mandalorian season 3 ep 7 review: 7/10 finally the plot emerges
And boy was it a rushed plot
You could literally replace grogu with any of the background Mandalorians and it wouldn’t make a difference. (look for the new figurine of ig 12 and his pal grogu in your local stores!)
The surviving Mandalorians deserved an entire episode instead of a two minute exposition and then just ignored for the rest of the story
Don’t worry about the beskar wearing imperials getting shot down left and right because our protagonists have something better than beskar— plot armor
At least I enjoyed it. Definitely the most solid episode of this season (not a high bar). I’m learning that if I approach episodes without any expectations in the quality, I will be pleasantly surprised.
tbh I’m glad Din got rid of the dark saber, now he can escape the intergalactic politics and go on fun space adventures without being dragged into the Star Wars of it all
Jon Favreau I am begging you to open up google and type in “how to build tension”
I love how Din’s primary character trait is being respectful to people and disrespectful to droids
mandalorian season 3 ep 6 review: 6/10 space black mirror
What I enjoyed:
Din “Shoot first talk later” Djarin
What I was confused by:
The plot
The politics
The heavy handed metaphors
The acting
The dialogue
In a shocking twist, Din Djarin knows more about the plot than I do
Bo katan really giving the nepotism vibes here. Literally why is she the leader? She doesn’t have the magic sword that makes her king. Her two followers left her. She lost the chance of ruling mandalore before. Her only qualification is that she “walked both ways”???? I wish she at least made an attempt to duel for the dark saber before being crowned or something
Tbh the main problem with the mandalorian has always been about trying to connect it to the greater Star Wars universe. The 1st season worked so well because the viewers don’t need to know anything about Star Wars. We can be as clueless as din is. The 2nd season forced some cameos that sort of worked because din is reacting to the larger galaxy as the clueless audience. But the 3rd season just imploded from all the references they are stuffing in. And Din is no longer the focus, bo katan is. Sorry but I shouldn’t have to watch any other show to understand what is happening in this one. Who is she? What does she want? What is up with the new republic. Who even is in control of the new republic? I feel like the writers shifted their target audience.
mandalorian s3 ep 5 review: 6/10 clearly my assumption that din djarin is the protagonist is just an outlandish fantasy
things i liked:
The lord of the flies ness of passing around the hammer to make a speech I wonder how many fights broke out before they settled on that method
“He’s above you! He’s below you!”
The scene of Bo katan and the armorer. So much was said with so little. This is the writing style of the first season that I like.
The last scene where the pieces of glass frozen in space gets caught in the light. And watching it all from a tiny monitor on the x wing. Literally the first scene in this season that has proper tension and build up and suspense
Paz’s speech doing a 180. Ha I knew you secretly cared
Things I didn’t like:
The call of duty ness of the mando squad like some amateur swat in training. Where’s the efficiency? Honestly i would prefer if the whole fight was shot from that tiny window on the ground of the workshop
The dialogue. Jon favreau please read your script out loud before submitting it
Not even a shot of grogu throwing his arms up in joy as din decimates those pirates?
The shallowness of the world. The nevarro citizens were given no screen time at all so it doesn’t feel like they are attached to the city. The Mandalorians work in a unit but none of them seem familiar with each other, not even helping each other hide from the gunfire.
Why aren’t they using their jet packs? If they can dodge a dragon in midair, I’m sure they can dodge a machine gun that fires three shots in two seconds.
The random ass declaration that they are gonna go back to Mandalore. Which occurs just moments after they settled onto Nevarro.
Honestly at this point, i would rather get the whole episode without din. A 30 second scene of him and grogu chilling in a space spa would be preferable to whatever is happening with season 3.
it’s such a small thing but I hate that the mandalorian covert has two guards at the entrance
