The vampire had woken up early this day. A knife drove deep into the pillows where he once laid his head only a fraction of a moment earlier. In a blink, he was out of the nest and on his feet, a dagger as black as his scales clutched in his hand. The other… in his assailant’s.
“Liked pillow.” He growled. His body still sluggish from being roused, but his eyes alert and focused on the man before him. “Should’ve gotten up sooner.” Golden eyes stared back at him. A smile in them to match the threatening display of teeth below them. The feathers, at least from what Teegla could see were raised. Fanned out. Excited, but not aggressive. Fii shifted his weight from one foot to the other and lunged.
“What wanting?” The Saxhleel questioned, taking a step backward, deflecting the blow with his empty arm. Striking at the opening it created.
“Wanted to see if you got sun sick inside.” Catching the opposite blade on his guard, green fingers reached out clawing at the other. His nails made contact, and the vampire grunted. It wasn’t enough to leave five cuts in his scales. But even just one small tear was enough to leave the area tingling. Not a feeling Teegla enjoyed.
“If no wake?” He raised a clawed foot up, and in a swift, fluid motion sent his taloned foot straight into the center of his opponent’s stomach. Fii took a step, then another backward. He had no time to consider the blood spilling from the fresh wound as the vampire’s assault continued.
“Then the nest would be an ashy mess.” The alchemist laughed, defending himself, catching his blade between his partner’s scales every now and then.
