Plus, I only go on Facebook for memes and cute animals.” Mikhail grinned widely, and his expression only grew when she pretended to get angry at him. “Yes, exactly.” He deadpanned, but was completely unable to keep a straight face. “Bet you I can eat the rest of this in one bite.”

“Pffft,” she scoffed. “Tumblr is wey better fur memes 'n' cute animals.” Her eyes then widened, shaking her head. “Nope, not happening. Ah'm not losing money betting against that.”

“hey, you remembered!” he exclaims and takes the treats; though she has before, so it really shouldn’t have been such a shock to him. only does he remember he’s still wearing his apron when she takes off her own, and so he sits his tarts on a table before doing the same thing. “well…” he’s in thought—- hand scratching his head, “why don’t we just see where we end up?” picking his treats back up, he opened the door and exited.

“Whit? Ye think ah'd forget mah mukkers favorite? Ah'm hurt.” She smriked before taking a bite of her first apple turnover, then answering him with her mouth full, covering her mouth with her pastry. “A'right, let's do it. Mibbie we'll fin' th' reason thare wur no fuckin' customers t'day.”

Mikhail rolled his eyes when she laughed, but there was a small smirk on his face. He’d probably do the same in her shoes as well. “Yeah, I’m sure I’ll get similar reactions whenever I post this on Facebook to call out my friends.” He chuckled before putting the cloth down, clean as he could get with dried liquid still in and around his ear. He grimaced, knowing he’d have to take a 2nd shower today, but brightened when Merida placed a muffin in front of him. “At times like this, I remember why we’re friends.” He joked before taking a bite. “Thanks, Meri.”

“Eh, facebook is stupid anyway. Ah'm a tumblr lassie maself,” she responded, waving it off with her hand. She then became jokingly angry. “Whit? Because ah buy ye muffins? Not mah sparklin’ wit 'n' fabulous personality? Fuck ye.” She was clearly joking, but just in case, she gave Mik a playful punch on the arm and a smile.

“pfft,” he waves a hand, brushing the possibility right off. they weren’t getting anywhere today and staying would simply be a waste of time—- when there were actual fun things to do elsewhere! wynter surely ( hopefully, paxtin; think of the consequences here! ) wouldn’t mind… dropping the tea tin he was playing with, he snaps his finger with a swing of his arm, exclaiming with a joyous grin, “that’s more like it!”

he’s already at the door by the time the redhead calls out, spinning back around to face her. it takes a moment for him to register what exactly she means—- and of course he wants some! “oh, do i ever!” he declares, heading back on over to the counter.

Merida couldn’t help but smirk at her friend’s excitement at breaking the rules. They’d always had that in common; rules were for boring people.

Merida picked a few apple turnovers for herself (she would start her diet tomorrow) and a few lemon tarts for Paxtin before hoppin over the counter to meet hm at the door. 

She handed him his treats before untying her apron and hanging it up, then flipping over the closed sign. “So besides eatin’ these, whit do ye have in mind to do?”

“erm, let’s see.” bert rested his head on his fist. “not germany, there’s no red’eads in germany. not ireland. then i’d might know y’ personally. could i ‘ave a ‘int ?”

“Why d’ya need a hint?” she asked, squinting at him good naturedly. “Ye'v bin right so far, thare, that's yer hint.”

“oh yer sae funny.  Sae how come urr ye aye on this diet?  why dont you join me fur a wee trip, ah cuid use a break myself.” She shrugged before gently resting an arm on her little sisters shoulder. In truth, If she studied anymore Eleanor felt herself ready for a breakdown, besides she felt she hadnt seen her sister in ages

Merida smiled and nodded, getting up. “Sure, rest yer eyes 'n' stuff yer face.” She reached up to place her arm around her big sister’s shoulders before groaning.  “If ah'm ever gon’ta git to th' olympics, ah'm needin' to git in better shape, 'n' eating apple tarts ev’ry day isn’t gon’ta help.”

bert smiled, but then paused at her dialect. “say, i’ve ‘eard a voice like yours before. ” he rubbed his hands together and sat down next to the girl. “if i can’t put my finger on where you’re from, y’ get t’ choose the song i play. how’s tha’ sound ?”

Merida’s eyebrows shot up at his suggestion, ready to make him play something difficult and hilarious. “A'right, ye'r on, whaur do ye think ah hail from?”

“now not many people know this, but ahm a musician.” bertrand swung his guitar around and strummed it. “i got my instr’ment all tuned up, so would you like t’ lend your tears and cheers ?“

Merida had just finished her run and was sitting on the bench in the park. She had just taken out her earbuds when the man spoke to her. She smirked as she heard the dialect; another thick European accent. She liked him already. “Sure, why not? Ah don’t have anythin’ else to do.”

“Thanks.” He quickly took the dishcloth and started to rub the ice cream dripping from his ear. “Okay, so I hosted a surprise birthday party for one of my friends– and this guy love ice cream like you wouldn’t believe. Even more than me. So I got him an ice cream cake, and everything was going well until I pulled the bad boy out. A few of my friends thought it’d be funny to push his face into the cake right after he blew out the candles, and as you can imagine, he freaked and threw a literal fistful of ice cream. Then all hell broke loose. I just had to get out there, so I ran down here; I live like a block away. I don’t even wanna see the state of my apartment right now.”

Merida tried not to, but she couldn’t hold it in and literally laughed so loud, a few people from the other side of the Tea Kettle turned to look at her. “That is th' funniest shite ah've heard all day, ah do not envy ye, mukker.” Merida looked in the displays, trying to find Mik’s favorite. When she spotted it, she smirked and reached for the fresh chocolate chip muffins. She grabbed one and handed it to her friend. “'Ere, on me, ye deserve it.”

“no! ‘twas real organic ingredients ah swear! thanks fur th’ compassion sis. How urr ye? where hae ye been?” she laughed through a cough

“Ye know me, always compassionate. Eh, a've bin a'right. Work's bin slow 'n' a'm on this diet that ah fuckin' despise.” Merida rolled her eyes before asking  “How aboot ye?”

 “Im beginning to think I have wronged the nurse in some life.” Elicena coughed. “This medicine does not taste like oranges at all.” she argued. “

“What? Did ye think th' company would tell ye it tastes lik' shite? Haven't ye ever heard o' false advertising?” Merida teased her sister.

“God damn it Meri, if you get me something to clean up with I just might tell you the story. But please, hurry. It’s getting all sticky.” He groaned.

Merida laughed but obliged turning around to grab a dishcloth they always kept in case of spills. She handed it to him before saying “Alright, now tell me th’ story. Ah can already tell this is gon’ta be good.”

slow days were loathed by paxtin. he was going to get bored out of his mind—- his head was probably going to explode. sat upon the counter ( of course he’ll wipe it down later! ) chin in hand and legs crossed, he looks over at his coworker. “it hasn’t ever been this slow!” he chirps, jumping off of the counter, looking around; hands on his hips and heaving a great sigh. then, he strides over and leans over merida’s counter, playing with a few random tidbits that are along the surface. “what d’ya say we just close shop and leave?”

“How mad d’ye think Wynter would git?” she asked, looking around the still empty tea shop, before a mischievous smirk grew on her face. She thought for a moment, weighing the pros and cons, but then she shrugged, discarding that idea. "Fuck it, why not? T’s’not lik' we're gon’ta lose money, since no one’s 'ere anyway.” 

Merida was about to hop over the counter when she looked over at the fresh pastries. They weren’t going to be as good tomorrow anyway, taking one wouldn’t hurt. Besides, Wynter could take it out of her salary if it was that big of a deal. She pointed to the pastries, asking “Ye want any?”

Completely disregarding his request, Merida squinted, obviously confused. “How in th' fuck did ye git ice cream in yer ear?”

sun was doing his daily run. the cool fall air was just right, making him break a sweat but cold enough for him not to overheat. he paced his breaths and was listening to his running spotify playlist on full blast. his fitbit beeped and he immediately stopped and began to do a couple of squats. usually, he feels his best when he runs. there were no outside distractions but something was off. he stopped halfway through his run and stretched as he looked out to the sunset. he sat on the bench and took out his headphones. “fuck it dude im craving a burger…”

Merida had just finished a run of her own. Her usually untameable hair had been miraculously restricted into a ponytail for the purpose of keeping it out of her face. She had been realizing lately that she had been running out of breath more quickly in the past few months, and she wanted to change that. No future olympian should get winded going up the stairs to her apartment.

Merida was seated on a bench when the man sat down on the other end and confessed his craving. “Holy shite ah can relate to that,” Merida chuckled before asking  “Ye on a diet too?”

Merida drummed her fingers on the counter, resting her head on her other hand. She looked around at the empty tables and groaned before turning to find Paxtin. “Oi,” she called to him. “Is thare some event happenin’ in town ah didn’t hear aboot? 'Cause I don’t remember it ever bein' this slow.”
