Not really knowing what to do with the AI assistant that my company paid for is probably what it felt like when my grandparents didn’t know what to do with the computers that their companies paid for back in the day. Ethics aside it just takes more time to ask the bot to help me than it does to just do my task.

Both of my parents are injured and half of them are home now but from Saturday-Tuesday I slept about approximately maybe perhaps 5 hours and 45 minutes. Early Tuesday morning mom emerged from her fog and made me go home to rest and nobody argues with my mother, even when she’s on pain meds, so I had the most delicious sleep of my entire life from 4am-9am. And then last night I slept 7 entire hours in a row. I’ve never felt such deep guilt and anxiety for being born as only one person and not being able to divide myself like a cell and be in two places at once—nobody made me feel that way, I just did. With dad home now I feel like I have one little chick safely under my wing but my mom is still waiting for a second surgery and I don’t think I could have done this without my village.

Man who took a firework to the groin

Man who had mortar from a firework lodged in his leg

Man who was hit in the eyeball with a firework
