This is something I can't preach about enough! This is becoming such a huge issue and people are not educated on any aspect of this topic. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, I see this first hand in one of the largest hospitals in the state. It's almost desensitizing how often we see bacterial resistance...like it's becoming normal to see. Which is scary, and it should NOT be a norm. So y'all need to start educating yourselves before you start poppin' antibiotics or any other medication for that matter. And parents, for the love of God, let your child EAT DIRT. Don't run over and sanitize the child from head to toe with a bottle of Purell. Don't put them on an antibiotic regimen every time they sneeze. They need to build up their immune system naturally so they will be able to fight of infections naturally. Also, food for thought...antibiotics only work for BACTERIA and the majority of colds/respiratory issues are caused by VIRUSES. Stop being part of the problem. Get educated.

toxorhynchites spp. A very large, cool and non-blood sucking mosquito. I took this picture with my phone a few years ago when I worked in a medical entomology lab. This species of mosquito were essentially the lab pets as they had no experimental/scientific purpose. Their bodies have teal, purple and some gold coloring that was so incredible and detailed. This is a male pictured above, apparent by the two bushy anntenae.
