All proceeds from this print will be donated directly to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. http://etsy.me/2j1LcTH This print was inspired by the resilient strength and the good stewardship embodied by the water protectors at Standing Rock. Access to clean water is something many of us take for granted but it is one of the basic requirements for life. The Dakota Access Pipeline, if completed, inevitably will spill into the Missouri River affecting the life-giving water of millions. We also stand in solidarity with native peoples who have continually been lied to, exploited, colonized, and massacred. We stand to protect the sacred. We stand with standing rock. stop blaming the victim

I realize that these posters seem to suggest that only women get raped. That is completely wrong and I don't want to further that false idea in my work. What I am attacking here is how often we hear people asking what the victim was wearing (this is most often directed towards female victims). I strongly believe that rape is never ever deserved, and never "asked for." If someone was actually asking for it, it would not be rape. We need to eliminate language such as this that puts the blame & guilt on the victim rather than the perpetrator.
