I'm crocheting Gandalf as a gift, although I still need to make the setting.

It makes me laugh because I ended up doing what I wanted without meaning to. I started with a tutorial, then I made a mistakes and improvised, and in the end I added elements of my own.

I’m about to turn 40, and the last several months have been spent thinking about what that means… understanding my reaction to my own mortality. This quote had helped me through the existential angst.

I believe it’s DeAtramentis shimmering magenta or something like that. I only have a sample and i lost the label! Look at the copper shimmer!

I have a really funny headcanon that the wizards didn't get sent as old men to Middle-Earth, but initially came as their Maiar forms and only began to age rapidly after getting addicted to smoking their precious barrels of Longbottom Leaf <3

Imagine you are one of the Rohirrim, riding with Gandalf, feeling the anxiety of whether it is too late to save Helm's Deep and your King. As dawn begins to break, you hear the Horn of Helm Hammerhand over the nearby hills...

(Gimli blasts the horn while Théoden performs what he believes is his last charge, declaring, “Ride now! Ride for ruin and the world's ending!”) In that moment, when you hear the horn from a distant horizon, you know the fortress is not yet lost.

You arrive just in time... Mithrandir did not use magic to stun the Uruk-hai upon his charge; he used nature and his sense of time to ensure the sun was in the right place at the right time. For an ancient entity who has existed for over 7,000 years, he understands time better than anyone when he declares,

“A Wizard is never late, Frodo Baggins, nor is he early; he arrives precisely when he means to.”
