Should I enter the wildlife art competition again? Not sure I've had any more inspiration since last year.

Don’t think I ever uploaded this one, from 2020- brown hare and leverets, brush pen. I’ve never seen a leveret myself so this is reference along with a bit of stylistic license.

#reblogging this here as it has more notes than anything i've ever made!#except the shitpost CR sketch #still very proud of it even if i don't work with this medium so much these days #because to put it frankly it was a royal pain to avoid pen bleeding #these pens are great to layer but each paper has an absolute maximum number of layers you can do before it looks SHIT #I did not hit it on this one i can tell just by looking #so it makes me proud to see but also stresses me out in some way because omg one more layer of pen would have KILLED this

My latest CR fanart is coming along, pencil lineart is finished and I had to move to the next stage which I decided would be inking the lines, so I don't lose the pencil under the marker when I add colour. Only now the pen I'm using to ink the lineart is kind of bleeding into the paper and I'm possibly regretting it.....ugh fuck I'm not stopping now I must carry on! *resolve *

#i scanned the pencil art so i have a record of it at least #i think part of the problem is pencil outlines always look so nice and delicate #but there's no way to preserve that look and also have a coloured picture #so it's either this or never finish anything and I really want to finish more things!

Someone I follow posted art, then a few posts higher up someone else I follow posted a reblog of that art with the same amount of reblogs but less likes. This is the new reblog feature nobody wanted, isn't it? The one where each reblog makes a new post? Ugggggh.

#as an artist with no following this is just...well i probably was never gonna get a following on here but now #there is simply no chance of me getting a self esteem boost from a lucky reblog where someone has a lot of followers #followed by a nice scattering of likes #the likes will all go on the new post if there are any- never to bother my self esteem again #thanks guys #i feel the same about posts in communities tbh #people react with the emoji react thing that's like discord #but to actually interact with the work in a way that is recorded long term you have to go to the post manually #and you can't jump right there either you have to scroll #riiiiight around when i had just started my art blog this happened. thanks tumblr
