Started writing my own phm fanfic because I think you guys SUCK at interpreting how Rocky would feel about Grace being sent to space by Stratt. Rocky almost acts as a foil to Grace. He IS naturally brave, he chose to go on his mission, he is self sacrificing for his own planet, he even understands that his mate might have found another partner for the sake of the survival of his species!!! Grace is not understanding!! He is selfish and scared and frequently chooses himself above all others. Guys, I need to remind you his entire story arc is finding something to be brave about. Grace is so afraid of pain that he makes no lasting connections, he avoids conflict so heavily he chickens out of a successful career and teaches middle school to be the cool teacher. He’s a coward!! There’s no way he could ever make the choice to go on the mission so Stratt had to make the choice for him. You think Rocky, who sacrificed everything to be on this mission would 100% sympathize with someone who wasn’t brave enough to make that choice? I think Rocky would understand that this situation wasn’t black and white…I beg you to understand complicated female characters and to stop using fictional characters as a vehicle for misogyny :P
