yeah, people who listen to death-thrash metal are cool. but you know who is cooler? those who listen to local bands too. support the underground bands, they are the best.
anyways, here are some bands you can listen to if you want to get more into the subgenre: mutilator, possessed, merciless, sadus, epidemic, morbid saint, slaughter, psychic possessor, necrodeath, pentagram (chile), abortismo.
SLAYER, EXODUS, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, POSSESSED.
Darkthrone, the ultimate black metal band from Kolbotn, Norway.
The band was formed in 1986 as a death metal band named Black Death (line up: Gylve Nagell -Fenriz-, Ivar Enger and Anders Risberget). In late 1987, Dag Nilsen joined the band, so did in 1988 Ted Skjellum -Nocturno Culto-. in 1991, they became oficially a black metal band. Their main inspirations were Autopsy, Venom, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Slayer and Nocturnus.
Darkthrone haven't played live since 1996.
happy birthday to the band that motivates me the most to keep going and fulfill my dreams. after 40 years, they´re still kicking ass. thanks for everything, metallica \m/
Pantera in Moscow, Russia, September 1991. The band played in the Monsters Of Rock festival's first edition in that country. The Black Crowes, AC/DC, Metallica and E.S.T played there too.
In 1991, the Soviet Union was going through a series of political and economic changes, due to the openness to the world that the government led by Mikhail Gorbachev wanted. A month before the concert took place, political tensions were such that it led a group of members of the government to organize a plan to overthrow the president through an attempted coup, known as the August Coup. In the end, the coup plotters failed, but tensions still raged in the streets, so the government was forced to send military troops to ensure peace. Despite the political and social upheaval that the country suffered due to that then, the authorities chose to hold the event, although with extreme security measures, such as sending soldiers to the site to maintain order during the festival.

unpopular opinion: they are the best of the big 4. not because of the music, but they seem like they're actually friends and they stood by the each other for years. i mean none of them is a kerry king
