Remus grinned and led her down the ever changing staircases at a reckless speed "Oh this little thing? Why yes a very pretty girl gave it to me" he was tugging her along at such a rate he didn't even stop to let Ravenna Ravenclaw's ghost pass, simply waltzing right through her and calling "Forgive me Ma'am, we're rather in a hurry!"

Marlene couldn't help but let out a laugh as he rushed though the ghost and onwards, practically dragging her after him. "Bloody hell Remus, if you keep this pace you'll have to carry me." She joked, though her cheeks were slightly flushed. "Why exactly are we in a hurry again?"

Remus returned to Marlene but her eyes were shut, he pouted in a very hefty way and flicked the flower on his lapel. A slight ringing of the thin metal got her attention "I spoke with the gents, they said they'd cover for me...well not so much as said as grunted and went back to sleep." He took her hand again and smiled. Somewhere inside he was still panicking but for the moment he was trusting to his instincts, and his instincts didn't seem to give a damn about rules or repercussions "ready to go?"

It was when she opened her eyes and looked over Remus Lupin Marlene decided she wasn't a good person. Standing there, listening to him tell her he had just asked his best mate, her ex boyfriend, to cover for him while he hung, and quite possibly made out with her and all the dark haired girl could think of was how attractive he was in that moment. His hair was tousled and the bloody flower caught her eye, making her smile. Of course there was also the matter of his lips, which were entirely too appealing. "Yeah, I reckon so." She murmured with a grin, peeled herself off the wall, moving close to him. "Nice flower."

Remus stood and smiled reassuringly at her. The truth was Remus had wanted to do that before, he’d wanted to do a lot of these things before, what he lacked was the nerve, that little spark of courage. He was one of the brightest in his year but a kiss was really as his mind ever reached in daydreams about girls, the stuff beyond that he’d always left to Sirius and James. He laughed and headed towards the dorms instead of the portrait hole “Should grab a coat I think” he said before thundering up the stairs and into the boys dorm “Gentlemen” he said addressing the still occupied beds “Im afraid I shall not be attending potions today” he whirled through his chest to find the jacket and the bronze daisy from the other night “do try and cover for me” Tucking the metal flower into his lapel he sped out the door and back to the waiting beauty Markene

Marlene sighed as he headed off, leaning against one of the walls and letting her eyes fell shut. Her head was spinning and she barely knew which way was up, and it wasn't just from the confusion of having Remus acting like a bloody stranger, it was that kiss. She couldn't understand why it felt like this, like something real. Since Sirius she had hooked up a time or two, but it had never felt like much and she found herself missing the dark haired boy's touch, thinking there was nothing like it. But she found herself standing there, struggling to remember a time when her ex had made her feel like this with just a kiss. Why was she reacting like this to Remus of all people?

Marlene let out a little laugh, giving something that was almost a genuine smile. "I'm sure the ladies are just lining up to be hexed and abused."

Remus' senses willed him on but his brain was screaming to stop and think. Finally his brain let through and he pulled her away momentarily to say "Fancy a walk?" His wolffish grin gave way once more as the wolf revealed it's notion to him "if you don't mind missing double potions with old Slughorn that is?" He whispered as they were drawing quite a few shocked stares from the others in the common room. Remus caught Arthur Weasley, a friend of his, out of the corner of his eye picking his jaw up off the floor

Marlene was completely unsure of what was happening, confused didn't even begin to cover the churning feelings in her stomach, the tangle of thoughts of emotions in her mind, but never the less she nodded her, head. She had been dreading potions anyway, the girl rationalized and it wasn't like he would do anything right? Even if he was acting differently this was still Remus she was talking about, her mate since second year. She trusted him. So slowly marlene stood, smiling softly and moving towards the portrait hole.

"Merepeople" he lied tactfully "do not take kindly to drunken visitors falling from above" his heart was racing, she must feel it. He could feel it in every nerve. It was more than just the wolf waking up early now, this had to be due to the girl sitting on his lap, feeling his chest through his shirt. His mind of course was running slower than his instincts today, and while it weighed up what it was exactly that was happening to him, his mouth crossed what little gap there was between them and met her lips. When his mind caught on to what had happened a few minutes later it reeled him in a bit "oh"

Marlene was in a state of shock when he kissed her, so much so she remained frozen for a moment. He had been flirting, sure but there was a huge leap from flirting to kissing, however it seemed to be a leap he was happy to make. After a moment she began to kiss him back, her hand sliding up into his hair slowly, her body shifting closer.

Remus' mind panicked but his mouth seemed prepared "Word of advice" he teased "Never think having a broom race with James and Sirius after half a bottle of Firewhiskey is a good idea" he laughed and he took her hand and placed it on his chest were the five claw marks from last months moon were healing but still pink and the grooves still deep

Marlene was no fool, she knew well enough that the scars he was showing her were not from some drunken race with his mates, and if they were he was most definitely not telling the whole story, but even so she couldn't push him to be honest, it wasn't her place. "Pretty impressive." She murmured, skimming her fingers gently across the mark.

Remus was pretty sure he was having one somewhere in his head but for some reason he was ignoring it "maybe it's these scars" he pondered, tugging at the collar of his shirt to look down at his chest "Sirius always says girls like guys with scars" was he really now just blurting whatever came to his mind? He did that before certainly but now...now it was like some part of him was enjoying it, like a race, like a hunt.

Marlene's eyes went wide as she saw the scars that littered his pale skin and she couldn't help but turn, nearly straddling him to run her soft fingertips across one of them. It did not escape her that he wasn't answering any of her questions, not really but she was distracted by the marks. "Merlin, Remus where did you get these?" She asked, her eyes flicking up to his full of concern.

Remus' hand went instinctively to her waist despite a voice deep inside his head screaming with panic, his lips curled up at the corners of his mouth "Well it's not every day a pretty girl ends up in your lap" and his other hand landed appreciatively on her knee

Marlene let out a little laugh, surprised but far from displeased by his touch. He was acting more like Remus or James than himself, and to be honest she missed the shy boy a bit, but was more attracted to the one who's hands were currently running along her body. "What's gotten into you? Normally if I sat in your lap you would have a panic attack."
