Hello, I’m Hani and this is the very first episode of The Lost & Found podcast. What do you lost and how do you find it back? We’ll discuss bit by bit every episode.
Today first episode, is under random talk talk segment, talking about stuffs, the issues with a bit of personal experience and the like the title is, As Time Flies or Le Temps Passe in french.
Early of the year, we make resolutions. I make resolutions and you make resolutions to have the insight, on what does 2020 have spread for us. I too have made myself a timeline. What to achieve in January until December. To make sure I ain’t skidded along the way.
January and February, went super well. Spaniards would say “perfecto”. Nice, went well and I registered for my second semester well too. Went to class, the routine class home and back to food at the eateries and then class again, enjoying life during weekends and when it weekdays, class again. Isn’t it supposed to be good? And then one day, the corona came. Ya miss corona came wearing big dress and fancy hats and holding gun and threatening the world. Who am I kidding. The world went on quarantine, almost the whole world. And I book a bus ticket right away. That night, I went back to my home. Not knowing that was the last time, last day I actually attend physical class and last day going to class with my friend. The rush was epic. Then after a day I guess, Malaysia announces PKP stands for Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan.
PKP means cooking, watching television non stop and Netflix with a bit of dalgona coffee. Everyone tried that. I Picked up new hobbies too. Firstly I tried gardening. I bought plants and vegetables seeds. The plants grow up well but the seeds,I can really say that I don’t have a green fingers. Oh and did I tell you yet that one of the indoor plants turns horrid? My mom put it under direct light and the leaf become like dried banana leaf, brown and crunchy. Do rest in peace my dear Peace Lily. Ironic enough.
Online Learning, it is a crazy thing. At first its like wow very interesting, very convenient too lah but for subjects that needs counting and direct surveillance. Yes, that needed a lot of help. Me being as thick as a plank didn’t help, surely. But its convenient, and much safer I can say. Can’t imagine commuting to faculty with bus, probably accompanied by the Miss Corona, putting her knife on my neck. First obstacle, my examination is postponed. The supposed to be July examination, turns to November. Which means? Ya unemployment. No money no talk. Delayed graduation, sick.
Then, this is the start of the interesting story. I, got chance to become a primary school teacher. Ya crazy right, from learning about directors and secretaries and auditors all the big big matured experienced people, and then went to teach them small small kids. I watched When Calls The Heart, the Hallmark series and adored Elizabeth Thatcher. Amazing teacher at the frontier, she met a handsome mountie. A very strong and handsome one.My first day was okay, first class was okay too I guess. In my opinion, I don’t know if the kids might want to differ. I teach PJ, PK, RBT, TMK bit of Music and yes Sejarah or History. Sejarah time was my favorite. I had a great time teaching Sejarah! Cute thinking that I am actually a teacher, even though just for a while just like what 7 year old Hani wanted to be.
Kids are cute, and they talk a lot. Really, sometimes too much. But I guess thats the part of them growing up. Kids are curious and curious kids never stopped learning.
Then, my happiness is cut short. Miss Corona invited herself to our place. My workplace close down and we all got to be tested for COVID. Poor kids all have to be swab and we are all quarantined. School is closed and my contract ended. So much for having fun teaching huh. Did not even say goodbye. Too bad, and sad.
This quote came from the Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why ; ‘You can’t stop the future, you can’t rewind the past. The only way to learn the secret is to press play.’ Corona came to us, it happens and ruin our plan but, go with it. Maybe there is hidden treasure somewhere. Grab any chances and go with the flow. When your 2020 resolutions went down to the drain, be flexible and agile, quickly make new one! There’s great adventures waiting ahead. Thank you for listening until the end! Lost & Found, Hani Zahir! Bye and see you on the next episode.
