@meteowrite
eee
LMAO i started my thesis by accident. idk how dis is gonna work but let’s get it igÂ
lessons learned sy1819 q2
things that really worked for me:
rewriting my notes
not all of them! just for some subjects (i.e., mechanics and physics, but mostly physics)
mechanics is basically physics so i didn’t need to rewrite much? resolving was much more convenient; table summaries would suffice for things like formulas
physics had a lot of conceptual aspects that i needed in order to understand the equations involved, so i really needed to rewrite my notes to understand things better!
tl;dr, rewriting notes is great when i need to understand concepts better. i don’t rewrite things i don’t understand.
resolving equations
ALL MY CLASSES LAST TERM WERE BASICALLY EQUATION SOLVINGSKFJDFSJ just kidding
worked for every single one of my classes. every. single. one.
only really works if i understand what i’m doing? resolving equations meant not only solving things again, but explaining what i did step by step (ESPECIALLY HELPFUL for chemical engineering calculations!)Â
color-coding things was a little excessive but it helps when doing simultaneous equations or things w unknowns u can’t get all at once! IM LOOKING AT U CHECAL
things that didn’t really work for me
anki flashcards ):
probably because i didn’t need much memorizing, except for formulas
formulas are easier to remember if u use them over and over again!!!! send tweet
honestly making flashcards was like a new way to procrastinate for me. again. SEND TWEET
studying in advance
mom im SO SORRY
i tried this for several of my subjects but my tiny half-brain cell could never really comprehend anything until it was explained. i am looking at YOU physics lab making us do experiments ahead of lecture
i tried this. i really tried this, you guys.
things i could do better
HAVE A STUDY SCHEDULE
literally. spending the day looking at cute boys then staying up til 2AM all the time studying is unhealthy. i get so sick all the time
discipline is so hard my dudes but i really need it!!!!
EXERCISE/HEALTH AND WELLNESS
CUZ I GET SICK ALL THE DAMN TIME!!! damn. two fevers in one month? surreal
anyway so i gotta: drink more water, eat better i guess. more protein! nap responsibly!
nts enroll in yoga again bc instructor always calls u out for solving eqs in ur head
also visit ur therapist frequently
overall it was an ok term! it went a lot better than expected, i got a gpa of 1.58 on a system that starts w 5 as the lowest and 1 as the highest. but it frustrates me now knowing that i could do better!!!!
i’ll do my best in the upcoming term! hopefully i won’t be lazy
Organic Chemistry Masterpost
As a chemistry major, I’ve taken sophomore organic chemistry and advanced organic chemistry. I know it’s a highly popular class, so given the demand, I figured I’d contribute some materials I’ve used that led me to success in those classes.
Google Drive:
I have set up a Google Drive folder containing much of these resources I’ve used to study from, and eventually tutor, the class. They are organized in folders by semester.
Summary Sheets
Practice “Workshop” Problems
Practice Exams
Class Notes
Research Papers
Lab Reports
“The Six Pillars of Organic Chemistry” PDF (written by my professor!)
If I end up finding additional resources, I will add more to the Drive. But that should do you well! You can check the original post for updates here.

Really, this class is not as hard as people make it out to be. If you put in the work, it’s easy to understand. Practice problems are your friend. If your professor assigns “optional” homework, do it anyway. My professor did a “mechanism a day”, which is something you should absolutely do on your own if your professor doesn’t! At times it might be frustrating, but be patient. Your hard work will pay off!
Good luck!

2nd term sy 2018-19: crushed
passed all my subjects save for one (1) incomplete subject that may or may not have been my fault. lol. anyway. i’m in the running for a scholarship now but i can’t get it because of that dumb (I) so i gotta complete that within the next three weeks! i can do thisÂ
omg lmao this is probably the worst way to start this blog but i have a physics report due in 2.5 hours and i haven’t written a word of it yet LMFAOOOoooÂ
i’m downloading the cold turkey writer AS WE SPEAK iono how im gonna access my sources or how this is gonna go though LOL you truly only yolo once. will update later
update: its only good if u dont need ur sourcesÂ
