More Pokopia. Unburied the sad crusherd dojo and crafted a scenic little mountain pass leading up to it. It is mind-boggling to me how much work all the Skylands areas require; truly endgame level difficulty.

Might as well share some of the stuff that I have been putting my decompression time into... leveled and prettied up the neighborhood in the Skylands - now featuring office buildings, apartments, game corner, hotel, water treatment plant, convenience store, and more! Then leaned into the junk tower theme and created a trailer park slum zone next door where I banish all the Pokemon I don't like. But they frequently use the lifts to get over to the nice neighborhood and mingle so I am slowly becoming endeared to them against my will.

Also, apparently the Japanese translation of Project Hail Mary won a translation award. I've been struggling through it with the help of OCR (my vocabulary is missing a lot of everyday terms like "centrifugal force" and "neutrino burst"), and the translation is remarkably spot on! I'm more used to manga and game localization where they routinely mangle up everything in the name of conveying the "spirit" of the dialogue, but this book is amazingly faithful sentence-to-sentence. It's also full of little parentheses author notes explaining to poor confused Japanese readers what in the world Ryland is talking about when he goes on about things like Windex and the Beatles.

I adored the Project Hail Mary book when it came out and just love the movie adaptation... and the fact that they released free 3D printing files as a movie tie-in. So of course I've been doing printer tests of Rocky; these two in resin (left) and PLA (right). I want to upscale the files as big as my printer can handle and create a cat-size huggable articulated Rocky.

My cherry blossom dragon diamond art kit arrived today! It's going to be a good while before I actually open it up and start working, because I have another one I have to finish first, but I'm already excited for it.

Oh my gosh, I'm so happy you picked it up and I hope you have fun!

Finally done!! A while back I found this spice rack at the thrift store for $2 and decided to draw unnecessarily elaborate custom labels for the spices. Thanks to the following people for Pokemon suggestions:

@ottercopter + anon - Serperior for parsley @auxtheabsol + @marigoos - Rolycoly for black pepper @purrlstar - Sceptile for rosemary (several people suggested Roserade but Sceptile's tail actually looks like the plant) @xylinthia - Sprigatito for coriander ...and everyone else who chimed in! I really appreciated the thought even if I went with something different.

I insisted on using old-school icon sprites for my Pokopia planner app and tweaked a few to match the main characters. Game Freak cruelly discontinued this style of icons after gen 7, so the gen 8 ones are from the Smogon Sprite Project, and gen 9 are from Ezerart.

I was getting overwhelmed trying to plan out where to build houses for who, who would get along well together, etc... so I made a little web app to visualize it all. It also turned into a general tracking tool along the way. Sharing since maybe some of you will find it useful too. It's very rough draft so apologies if anything doesn't work.

Label design concepting before I commit to drawing 20 of these... #1 is more what I initially imagined but the silhouette just doesn't read well. Trying to limit myself to #3's ultra simplicity makes me want to scream, which is probably a sign I need to practice it more.
