       TODAY IN MYSTIC FALLS  ────  THE COMET .                         in-game time: august 20th, 2018.

A SIGN OF IMPENDING DOOM, some of the older townsfolk call it. it’s said that the last time this comet passed over mystic falls, many people died. perhaps it’s a harbinger of death, or just simply a coincidence. who’s really to say? regardless, the town is excited to hold some festivities to celebrate this cosmic occurrence! come to the town square tonight for the best view of the comet --- bring a blanket, buy some snacks, and lay back with your family to watch this rare event. volunteers will be handing out candles, as well as manning booths where you can buy various soft drinks and snacks.

hey friends !!  this event is way more laid back than the last one and is primarily just to give y’all a place to set interactions/something to reference later if you so wish. we’ll be doing ‘events’ like these fairly frequently, mostly just to give you all an idea of where on the timeline we are. this lasts only one day both in and out of character time, meaning threads set during this must be started today  ( but have no time limit as to when they should end ).   it’s also rumored that witches have more power during cosmic events such as this but . . . that’s gotta be a rumor, right?

DAMON the sounds of drunken revelry trickled out to the darkness of the woods. where he sat in wait. back against a tree, knees bent before him. mind wandered to stefan, whether he still moped about, if he’d catch the night’s finale. he just needed his leading lady- or man, damon wasn’t particular. give them long enough and some smashed soul would come stumbling on… the snap of a twig… through. there. he smiled slowly. then shook his flask in the air. “promise not to attack me and i’ll share.”

VICKI vicki stumbled through a heavy cover of trees, tripping over a few roots, hands catching against the tree trunks to stop herself from tumbling down most unfortunately. her mind was a thick - heavy haze, her surroundings beginning to look endlessly the same and unchanging no matter how far she wandered in. she’d get to something familiar soon - she was sure she would. the burned down hale house, the clearing she frequented - anything to indicate some type of normalcy. she wouldn’t have said no to familiar company either - so when a body came into few she found herself stumbling towards it. she was a few steps aways when she realized she didn’t recognize him. the flask? the flask she couldn’t say no to. “that has to go both ways dude.” she slumped back against a tree at some distance, offering her hand forward for him to hand it to her.

PLOT DROP #01  ────  BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON .                             in-game time: august 17, 2018.

as most students were laughing and drinking, elena and jeremy gilbert found themselves wandering into the woods by themselves during an argument. it was then that jeremy tripped, falling --- right onto vicki donovan’s body. bloody, unresponsive. oh my god, was she dead? jeremy begins pleading with her to wake up until vicki gasps into a moment of attentiveness --- the gilberts then rushed her back to the party, with elena screaming for people to call an ambulance. the party was abruptly brought to an end at about 11:00pm when officials arrived to rush vicki to a hospital to tend to her wounds.

but that wasn’t the only so-called animal attack occurring. somewhere, between the charred remains of the hale family home and the party, scott mccall was attacked as well. was this all the work of one animal, or were officials wrong and there’s more than one mountain lion roaming the woods? scott mccall did not make it back to the party tonight.

alright y’all, there ya have it !!   the introduction of our two big bads. as of right now everyone only knows of vicki’s attack since we’ve all seen the pilot and scott comes out relatively unscathed from his own. the local news station is airing the story, painting vicki as the lucky first survivor of the recent string of animal attacks.   [ DISCORD TRANSCRIPT COMING SOON ]   everyone at the party knows what happened and rumors are bound to begin swirling; the cougar had been right there and none of them had known it. 

the party broke up after that, so therefore our event has come to a close as well. feel free to begin threads of the immediate aftermath or moving into something the next couple days.

     E V E N T   #01  ────  BACK TO SCHOOL BONFIRE .                                in-game time: august 17, 2018.

summer is coming to an end, and what better way to celebrate than a party and a massive fire in the woods that your parents   ( and certainly smokey the bear )   would never approve of? it’s the first major event of the school year and everyone’s invited! so come hang out, grab a drink, throw your syllabi into the fire, and enjoy the company. just remember to be careful wandering off on your own with that mountain lion roaming around the wooded outskirts of town . . . but then again, isn’t the fact that the woods have been so off-limits lately what makes it so much more appealing?

let’s boogie, boys !!  mark and i are so excited to announce this first event and hope you all are ready to get a taste of what the set-up of the rp is going to be like. this event is fairly straightforward --- teens getting wasted in the woods, circa vampire diaries 2009. for those of you with characters outside of high school, don’t be afraid to crash the party! we might just have some ideas to help you out too. this will run from TODAY, MAY 20 to WEDNESDAY, MAY 24TH, but will just be the one evening in-game. you can do threads any number of ways, whether they’re gif chats, paras, etc. all of your starters can go under the vinctumstart tag, as well as vinctumevent! if you have any questions, just shoot us a message and we’ll be more than happy to clarify anything.
