Margaret’s doll’s house. Her dad made it out of an old cupboard c1950; also much of the furniture. We’ve done a modest refurb, but sadly couldn’t keep the lighting system: torch bulbs driven by an old radio transformer through winding wire chased into the wall. The wiring had failed and we were unwilling to tear it all out and replace it.

Goa disappointed us, with mile upon mile of tacky bars and tattoo parlours. But we loved the markets, the Spice Station and the cookery school.
MARGARET’S 70th BIRTHDAY IN MUMBAI
Not a place we’d choose to live, but full of interest and the street food was amazing
At a loose end in Udaipur we found ourselves in the middle of a festival. It was great fun and people were very welcoming, but we’re still not sure what we were celebrating. We think it was the eve of one of the many Indian New Years.
The Maharana of Udaipur has a number of palaces. Part of the largest is open to the public.
Udaipur: we said if we went back to one place this would be it.
On the way to Udaipur, we stopped at the amazing Jain temple at Ranakpur.
We did the official jeep ride to lunch by the lake and a (strictly legal) opium farm
Coming soon: Udaipur
Not everyday you get to live in a sixteenth century castle.
Coming soon - by jeep to the opium farm.
Coming soon - Bijaipur
We did some long bus journeys, which we didn’t look forward to, but they were really interesting - always something to see.
Coming soon - Jaipur
This one seems to work though
