This anonymous burner email showed up out of the blue last September to say that it had heard I expressed some "interest" in being involved in future Homestuck projects last year after I put Andrew Hussie on blast for ghosting me in the middle of trying to finally get the broken Bandcamp fixed. I had no way to verify it was anyone involved in the company until I mentioned that WP was delinquent in sending music royalties for a year, upon which suddenly the entire music team received money. I was finally added to a new music team discord which hashed out the revitalized Bandcamp as it stands since last year.
I did NOT expect this anonymous account I haven't heard from in 7 months to suddenly cc Andrew and every one of their companies on what was essentially a pre-packaged callout doc using random conversations mostly between my wife and people across three different Discord servers with screen caps that the time stamps reveal to have been taken as far back as last July. This laundry list of things they think they're owed a public apology include remarks about completely unrelated subjects such as the development of Deltarune (hi Toby!) and Lexxy Douglass' failed Kickstarter.
The craziest part of this to me is that they admit to ghosting me deliberately on fixing the broken Bandcamp, a problem whose origins have never been fully explained and which has put What Pumpkin in violation of the terms of our contracts since 2019. Only after I dragged them kicking and screaming back into compliance by rallying public support on social media have we even gotten close to seeing this (mostly) fixed. And they think it's appropriate to tell me that the reason why they felt entitled to ghost me is because of remarks my wife made on social media when there was no way to tell whether they were ever going to follow up?
The comments we have made about Andrew, Toby, James, and Lexxy were all posted in the clear and each of them have my contact information if they felt the need to hash out their personal grievances with me. But to hold content fans enjoyed hostage over such pettiness and then demand I humiliate myself with a phony apology is an extraordinary low. They want to paint this like I'm desperate to continue working with them when they ought to be desperate for my assistance in rescuing a brand that's already tarnished by its constant misbehavior and inability to deliver anything its fans care about. I have no shame in letting them know exactly how I feel about their mob tactics and apologize for nothing.
