With the blackouy hitting, he took the opportunity to cause quite a bit of chaos. The gloves came off and while he wasn't in his villain attire, with a single touch, he decayed a door in his way. The dark side of his personality took hold and he had no cares who died and lived. What some people ended up seeing in their last moments were cold and uncaring eyes before they were dust.
A five finger discount on life.
He heard footsteps behind him and he smirked. About time he had company. "Took you long enough. I've been having the time of my life. Care to join or would you rather stop me?" He asked.

jaehanmh:
jaehan was quick to shake his head and offer out the pictures when sungki asked, more than happy to share for once. he wasn’t sure what to make of the smile that grew on sungki though, nor if it was really fondness that he saw in it. jaehan fell silent as the other spoke, posing questions that felt strangely loaded. “i’d try twice as hard to make sure i don’t become what they think i am,” he replied quietly, uncertainly. “which– i know, i didn’t go through what he did, so it’s easy for me to say. if he did what he did because heroes couldn’t help him… i guess i can’t blame him for that. but is that still the ‘end’ he wants anymore, or is he doing it for the attention?”
it just seemed senseless to him, which he was sure was a byproduct of not actually knowing the villain. so when sungki mentioned being close to the villain, jaehan’s attention honed in a little more sharply on the present and the man before him, searching his face in an attempt to guess why or how he would be close to him.
“yeah, you can say he’s grown in a bunch of ways,” he agreed faintly, remembering the recent incidents, far larger in scale than the ruins in incheon. “that’s too bad about his quirk, though i guess he already has a lot of…room for creativity, if that’s what you mean by ‘fun.’” he winced at his own wording. it was beginning to feel strange talking about him so casually.
“are you from incheon too?” jaehan asked curiously, glancing back down at the photos that sungki had looked at earlier. “i didn’t realize you were ‘close’ to him…do you mean, like, you know him?”
sungki could color himself impressed at the painstaking level of notetaking and detail the other had. it was almost admirable the extent. Even the pictures were interesting to look at. He hadn’t really realized how much he had grown over a short period of time until he saw where he began. It was fondness more so. As jaehan answered his questions, sungki was intrigued that was where the mind went. Trying twice as hard to become what they didn’t expect of him? Well that would have been a flex. Maybe if he was a hero, he could have been different. As jaehan mentioned whether doing things because heroes didn’t help was the end result or was it the attention, was a good point. Maybe two years ago he would have said that doing things because heroes didn’t help was the end result, but then he found out how popular he was, and that motivated him even more. “Ah, I see your point. I think it’s more for the attention now though..” he said, sipping his hot chocolate.
Of course he’d be close to the villain. He is the villain. Sungki never really hid his villain side. Most people just saw him and assumed that since he was on the quiet side, he can’t possibly be the loud villain.
Recent incidents were a lot more out there. “Ah, I agree with you there. A lot more fun in terms of creativity,” he muttered. “However you do bring up valid points in your analysis which is fascinating. I would have never thought about those implications….” He said, thinking. He glanced down at his cup, staring at the hot chocolate deep in thought. However the question out of jaehan snapped him out of his thoughts.
“No. I’m from Seoul. Incheon however was a good place for a while to lay low.. take things easy,” he said, humming. He choked on his hot chocolate when the other stated that he didn’t realize that he knew him. “What are you implying?” he asked. “If you mean, how close I am to the villain…let’s just say, quite intimately,” he said, finishing his hot chocolate and staring at he empty paper cup.

Send uncomfortable questions to my muse!
Would anyone like to plot something for the event? As a villain, during this blackout, he's letting himself go wild.

what do you want, @mhxinteritus
during nights when he doesn’t have a set target in mind, mingyu would find himself hanging around the a certain bar. not for any particular reason, nor was it to even get a drink, he didn’t quite like the taste of alcohol. if possible, he’d rather not step inside, anyway. he feels a strange vibe emitted from the building, maybe related to the infamous villain he would find around the premises. at times, mingyu swore the villain spotted him—but he did nothing, didn’t even call mingyu out, so maybe he was imagining things? he shouldn’t be able to figure out mingyu’s identity when he’s wearing a mask, right?
( mingyu doesn’t know. this villain seemed capable of many things. he’d rather not test that theory. )
he much preferred to observe from the outside, watching to see whether there would be bad guys he knew exiting tonight. follow one he knows is absolute bad news, rough them up a little, enough that mingyu’s message was crystal clear, then be on his merry way. if he’s lucky, he can leave without a hitch. other times, he’d have a few broken bones, but ultimately nothing his quirk couldn’t fix.
mingyu was just about done with doing just that—tonight being one of the lucky nights where he doesn’t have to limp back to his dorm—slinking back into the darkness as he had grown used to. but there was something else awaiting in the dark, or rather, someone. although mingyu knew his heart no longer functioned, he couldn’t help but imagine the beat of his heart picking up just a little bit.
“…hello.” mingyu started, choosing his words carefully. “was that your friend back there?” not the best choice. “they’re still alive.” but for some reason, he had a feeling the villain wasn’t here for that.
so, he had to ask, “is there something you want from me?”
during the nights, when he’s not working at the bar, he’s hanging around the bar, looking for fun, some chaos. he knew that his name was infamous, his quirk was infamous and he felt a sort of level of macabre pride inside him rather enjoying the fear that he had massed in short time. he liked observing people (after all that was why he worked in a bar and spent his days wandering around) and he’d seen a certain kid (kid, because even judging by the build, he could tell that the other was younger) hanging around. he’d spot him at times, but interitus never did anything, since he’d rather face him in the open. he honestly didn’t even care about him and then he kept seeing the kid around so many times.
it drove him insane.
he wanted to make this kid fear him and know why he’s the one to be feared.
he doesn’t care much for heroes, or his fellow villains. it’s more of an alliance of convenience most times and even then, the tables could flip. he could totally sell them out. hiding in the darkness, and waiting for his target was easier. he had seen the pattern. he saw that the boy feared him, since the choice of words was careful. the kid was right to fear the decaying villain, he could easily kill with a single touch.
“no. not my friend. don’t really care if he dies either. might go put him out if his misery and decay him anyway, after i’m done here,” he shrugged, laughing. sure, a normal person would probably be more concerned but he wasn’t here to talk his friend or whatever.
no, he was more interested in the vigilante himself. “i’m interested in you. your quirk, who you are. stuff like that. wonder why you’re hanging out around the dancing skeleton but never come in?” he asked, grinning. the wide smile almost looking out of place on that emaciated skeletal appearance of the villain.
he adjusted his white trench coat with a smirk. “more so, i’m also interested, in why a kid would take on villains himself, rather than wait for those foolish pros,” he asked, leaning against the wall.
@mhxinteritus
Placing dirty silverware and plates into a bin, Shik went to clear each table before making their way to the back of the restaurant. They placed their haul in the sink, filling the basin with water. With a huff they turned back to the main hall of Shaping Plates and took in the mess. Another night of cleaning. Great.
Shik was used to handling the restaurant by themself. They’d been running it for five years now with no one else to take the pressure off—and that had been fine, if not ideal. They enjoyed the menial tasks of setting up the tables, opening the restaurant for the day, and preparing meals. It was the cleaning Shik couldn’t bring themself to get excited over.
That’s why they took full advantage of one particular guy. He liked cleaning and that was all Shik needed to lock him down as a serv—assistant. He was a villain, but Shik could overlook that since the man loved Chef’s cooking. Not to mention, he owed Shik for the destruction of property.
Where is he, anyway? He was supposed to have been here to help with closing in exchange for a meal. Shik sent a text.
SHIK: Are you a man on the run, escaping from your debts or are you gonna pay your time for your crimes?
he really enjoys good food. upon the discovery that one of his fellow villains owns a restraurant, he had immediately become a fast patron. granted, the first time that he had shown up at shik’s restaurant, he had forgotten his gloves at home and as such ended up decaying a set of silverware. one time. three years ago and the other still lords it over his head. besides, hed always liked doing the dishes, so of course, he’d have been coerced into helping the other close.
it was a good thing that he actually really liked spending time with the other villain. the other would rant and sungki would listen, cleaning all the dishes from the night. that text from earlier though makes him sound like he’s some sort of trash person. he had only gone to grab another set of gloves ( the waterproof ones).
walking back into the empty restaurant and making his way to the kitchen, sungki voiced as much. “you make me sound like some sort of criminal, shik,” he stated, adjusting the gloves on his hands and looking at the pile of plates. it was a lot to clean, but not like sungki hadn’t done the dishes many many times from his mother’s insane dinner parties in his childhood years. “after all, it was one time. three years ago.” he muttered.
he reached for the soap, looking at shik pointedly with a casual calm grin as he began washing the dishes.
Will be catching up on replies and starters and plotting tomorrow! Sorry for the absence but I've been working and the heat is just killing my energy. ^^
jaehanmh:
sungki. jaehan was better at remembering faces than names, but he had a feeling that the circumstance was unique enough that sungki was going to stick around in his memory for a while. he smiled back, and he didn’t have to force it. a part of him was still wary, but none of his initial suspicions made much sense now; he couldn’t be in trouble because everything he found was in public record, and it couldn’t be some elaborate joke because what kind of punchline could a morbid subject like interitus possibly make? besides, it was nice to realize that sungki had actually listened and was considering his ideas, not just telling him to take his nose out of places it didn’t belong.
“okay, i’m glad!” he exhaled. “i’ve never really gotten to talk about this with anyone else before, so i’m kind of–” he made a vague gesture over his notes. “–all over the place. but anyway. i was wondering what his reasons for that too when he sounds like someone who loves the spotlight,” he mumbled. “training himself, maybe? it would explain why he went from taking down almost an entire city block to smaller places.” there were a few photographs in his notebook, pictures of the very ruins he’d found in incheon and sparked his curiosity in the first place. “or maybe taking down almost an entire city block just tired him out for a while. which makes me wonder what his limits are now.”
he could have drifted off thinking about that, but sungki’s rebuttal fascinated him. the media did love their skeleton imagery when it came to interitus, but jaehan had always assumed that they were dramatizing it for the attention.
“so his quirk is more about manipulating the rate of decomposition than manipulating the actual matter involved?” he tilted his head at sungki. did that mean it was related to time somehow? “i didn’t think of it like that, huh. i think that’s actually more terrifying than the other way.” he rubbed the goosebumps that arose on his arms, trying to wrap his head around the new idea. “i wonder if he’d be able to slow the process too.”
jaehan seemed a nice kid. sungki could almost feel something like a kindred spirit (if he could feel emotions haha). Of course, most information was public record, there were a few things that weren’t (like his quirk being speed based), but this was rather intriguing to him. he’d made conclusions that even he wouldn’t have thought of in regards to his own quirk. morbid? sure, but a fascinating topic overall. it was rare that he got a chance to do this, listen and observe from the side.
as jaehan rambled on that he was all over the place, and that he had no idea why someone who seemingly loved the spotlight all of the sudden went local, sungki went quiet. training himself was a correct assumption from the other. he reached for a photograph in the notebook, “do you mind?” he asked, taking the picture and looking at it closer. Ah, yes, his incheon ruins. A sort of fond nostalgic smile crossed his face. “well, as someone who is personally close to the villian, I can confirm that your assumption of training is correct” he set the photgraph back. he hadn’t even realized when he’d slipped into the villain mindset. “how would you react if all your life you’re told that you’re worthless? trash? a natural born villain? Locked away from the rest of humanity? and then you find out that one of your dear neighbours during your childhood was a hero? A hero who could have helped, but didn’t?” How would you feel? Decay is simply a means to an end for the villain,” he took a sip of his hot chocolate. he calmed himself down and simply offered the other a lazy smile. “i’m sure he’s grown,” he said.
skeleton imagery was simply for the enhancement of the fear. he didn’t mind.
“yes, his quirk is more related to the rate and time. as far as i know, he can slow the process as well, but not to the point of reversing it,” he said. He had no desire to learn how to reverse his quirk. The slowing was simply a means of torture. Sungki took another sip of the hot chocolate. “It does make life a little more fun, you know,” he added, quietly with a smirk gracing his lips.
jaehanmh:
he assessed the man before him: the gloves, the slight tension in his shoulders, the way he seemed just as nervous as jaehan was. the gloves were odd, but some of his friends wore gloves because of their quirks, so he brushed it aside. this guy seemed harmless so far. “i was expecting someone kind of sketchy, but you look fine, don’t worry,” he hurried to answer, still embarrassed by his fumble. “sorry if i scared you. my name’s jaehan.” he bowed his head again out of habit before nodding at the other’s question, more than happy to move on.
he opened his bag and took out a plain white notebook with a little cartoon snake sticker on the front. it was his designated color for the villains he researched; he’d figured it was more inconspicuous than actually labeling it ‘for villains.’
“yeah, i remember him before he turned into a big name,” he began. “i’m honestly surprised it took this long for people to realize how dangerous he is? i’m from incheon, and i used to see these buildings that looked exactly like the decay he leaves behind now, but those got nowhere near the same amount of coverage as the ones today. i kind of wonder if we would’ve been more prepared for him if the earlier incidents got more attention.”
jaehan shook his head to himself. “i guess there’s no use wondering about it now. i was more interested in what happens when he decomposes things.“ he flipped to his notes, which consisted mainly of bullet points and copious amounts of question marks. "like, i guess his quirk is closest to the decomposition process that happens in nature? but when that happens, matter breaks down into nutrients and chemicals that other organisms can use, and it got me thinking, what happens to all the nutrients and chemicals of the stuff that interitus decomposes? especially the… the people.” his voice dropped lower, discomfort flashing across his features. “in the wild, scavengers could get calcium from, like, chewing on a bone of some animal… so do you think interitus could do something similar too? like, get stronger or… or build up more power somehow, from decomposing living things?” he finally looked up at the other man again, only to feel another flush of embarrassment when he realized that he’d rambled for way too long.
“sorry, um– did any of that make sense?”
sungki offered the other a slight smile when he said that he was expecting someone sketchy. that would be the right proper conclusion in general. he would be also amiss in saying that he was also expecting someone sketchy as well, but the teenager was kind of a welcome sight. “i was also expecting someone sketchy, but i am....glad it’s you,” he said, smiling a bit and sipping the hot chocolate. as the younger apologized for scaring him slightly, sungki nodded with a slight hum. “i’m sungki... it’s nice to meet you, jaehan,” he said, picking his words carefully.
he watched as the younger took out the notebook. he had to admit the cartoon snake was cute and it didn’t look like an actual labeled villains notebook.
incheon? did that kid actually say incheon? he remembered that he spent time alternating between incheon and daegu so not to draw attention to himself while he tested his own limits. albeit as a graduate of u.y, he knew his basic limits, but back then he had no idea how far he could actually go and how long. as the younger mentioned that he was surprised that no one really caught on to him earlier and maybe they could have been better prepared for the decaying villain if the earlier incidents had gotten a lot of attention, sungki pondered that. “well, i’m sure that he had his reasons for staying low and local,” he said, thinking back to his own thought back then. “but sure would have helped. at least it would have been more fun,” he added.
as jaehan went on however, mentioning his notes and describing the questions that he’d had and suspected, sungki was impressed. he’d never even would have thought of scavenging calcium and nutrients from other things. the nutrients would boost his recovery time quite a bit and he could take less breaks. it would also mean more energy. he saw the discomfort when the other mentioned people and sungki made the aproppriate disgusted expression, since while it was his own quirk, he could agree. decaying people was gross, but they got in his way. when the younger however mentioned that idea, that he could do something similar like getting stronger or build up more power from living things, sungki quietly thought on that. it was a very valid point and he’d never even considered that. “no, it’s fine. it makes sense,...i’m just processing everything,” he said, thinking still.
“there’s one minor issue with building up power from decomposing living things, and getting stronger, it’s a matter of storing those extra nutrients, that extra calcium. In the news, interitus is more of a skeleton, i suppose. There’s not really any where to store it,” he said. “besides, while decay works very similar to the natural decomposition process, it’s a little more complex than just that,” he rambled on as well. “it’s more like if you sped up the natural decomposition process by a lot.”
jaehanmh:
jaehan noticed the man when he first walked in, but admittedly his attention drifted to the others sitting around him until that same man turned away from the counter with a hot chocolate, approach the table, and…sit down in front of him?
jaehan watched the unassuming-looking man type something on his phone and, just as he was wondering the best way to reveal himself, his own phone rang out with the notification.
yep, that pretty much confirmed that this was his mystery pen pal, but that wasn’t really jaehan’s first thought as he was startled into dropping his phone. it immediately became visible and clattered onto the table, and then jaehan was visible too, his form rippling into color like a trick of the light. “sorry! it’s just me!” he blurted, scooping the phone back towards himself and bowing his head quickly in mortification. “sorry, i was just– i didn’t know what kind of person you’d be.”
(it turned out…nothing like what he expected?)
he was very nervous with this whole thing and even sending the arrival text was a bit nerve wracking for him but he just told himself its for the sake of the quirk and being a better villain.
the notification from the other’s phone across the table sent sungki in bit of a panic as well. even the other boy appearing as though out of nowhere gave him a bit of a shock as well. he took a sip of his hot chocolate to calm himself. as the other apologized and claimed that he had no idea what sort of person he’d be, sungki looked up, from his cocoa, surprised at the comment on that he was unexpected. he looked down at his gloved hands and laughed a bit. “ah, who were you expecting?” he asked.
“interitus did get kind of popular, and the decaying is quite fascinating, so i was just intrigued by what sort of ideas you had about him?” he stated.
