I am still freaking out over this. Twitterdom was all excited because in this Smartpass AU audio, Izaya and Mikado are somewhere together~and Izaya is hungry for Mikado’s attention, which Mikado is so quick to give~…I’m still in shock!

OK SO i walked into this storm on twitter about people talking about an IzaMika mail like yooooo

When you bought Izaya & the Sunset from Animate, you got some cards with QR Codes. If you scanned the Mikado card, you later got this email from Izaya about Mikado in the Sunset period. I DO NOT KNOW if Narita wrote this email or not, but its possible since it came with the book.

I’ll do what I can to translate it :’). I’m a bit rusty though so it’ll take a little bit.

I can’t really gauge the accuracy of this translation but I did my best. Izaya was really enthusiastic in his letter and was really basically showering Mikado with love. I wasn’t sure about some parts and just put what made sense in context. Izaya was expressing disappointment in Mikado’s choices but really adores him and wants to meet with him again. This is just how I understand it. I could be wrong here and there.

Concerning Mikado-kun during the incident at Ikebukur’s westgate park, I believe he changed for the better.

From what (I) observed, He was very physically weak , but would stubbornly cling to his ideals which filled him with insanity.

He had a very narrow way of looking at things, but was constantly looking for growth.

Do you think that these contradicting things are what broke him? By all means he was a genius.

After accomplishing his goal, he chose a simple life with books (or he stupidly chose to work at the library), which is typical Mikado behavior. He’s completely removed himself from his old life, however…. it was his decision to move on, there is nothing that can be done about it, he’s moved on from a wild youth.

You may think that I was the fiend that lead to human’s downfall for enjoyment, right? I had nothing to do with it. Humans often bring about their own happiness and destruction; I love them equally!

That person rose up during that incident! And yet that person’s spirit was shaken to the core. I was there to bring out that person’s true character. I loved every bit of it!

(I’m not sure what he means in this last sentence, but it seems like he’s expressing discontent in Mikado’s choices?)

Shortly after that time, Mikado chose something rather disappointing.

He really decided to become a librarian? That’s just like him to do, but doesn’t suit him at all.

I’d like to meet with him, I’d like to talk with him and hear what he says.

If I wrote to him do you think he’d even want to meet with me or even see me?

…..maybe

I will always remember that child in Ikebukuro. Especially the day that I had arranged to meet him.
