Oh, that’s sad. I always wear beanies. Especially when my hair isn’t looking up to normal standards. That’s correct, I am his sister. And he’s doing alright. I saw him earlier today, but the nurses made me leave, because he needed his rest, which is fine. My mom is with him right now. He’s getting better, it’ll just take a bit of time. But he’s being a pretty good sport about it, which is good.

Sorry - I didn't mean to sound rude ... I still haven't seen him. I've seen almost everybody else that was at the school, though.  I'm glad that he's ... well, not okay, but ... I'm glad that he's getting better.

I doubt they’d be any elevators in our rival’s school, apparently it is that bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Hey, that’s always a plus! I mean, I haven’t heard that beanies have gone out of style, but on the bright side that means you’ll be on trend. If you’re into that, I know some people aren’t. Plus, you look good! Does that help? I hope it does.

Maybe they were in style ... I just can't recall ever having the need to wear one past middle school. But, I guess I have a reason now, so ... Yeah. It's a help, thank you.

Really? That’s good to hear! And I’m always here if you need to talk or, whatever. I don’t know. Need someone to laugh at. I’ve done some pretty embarrassing and awkward things in the past you might find hilarious. You can laugh at my life for entertainment.

Not really. Beanies should never have gone out of style, though, they’re so warm. I’m sorry about the shaved patch, there was nothing else the doctor could’ve done. Sorry about this, by the way — I just need you to verify that all of this patient information is valid.

You're doing your job - I get it. And it's fine ... the hair will grow back. I'd rather have a shaved patch rather than an open skull. The only real annoyance is changing the bandage so often. It hurts like a mother.

Well, maybe back in style for me. I've always felt that beanies looked a bit juvenile, especially on women. I haven't worn one since I was like twelve. You're Gabe's sister, right? How is he doing?

I feel that. God, girl, I should be the one visiting you in your hospital room right now, I’m sorry. I feel you on the neuro-thingy part, though. My vision blurs a lot and I keep getting sick whenever I sit up, but my memory’s just fine, unfortunately. Did you hit your head when the bookcase fell, then? I’m sorry I didn’t get to you sooner, Micah. I’m sorry we couldn’t lift it off. No, if you need to get back to your room then go — I don’t want to get you in trouble with her.

Don't apologize - the thing weighed a ton. You guys did all that you could. But yeah, I should be getting back. I'm glad that you're doing okay - all things considered.

Yeah, yeah Gabe’s alive. Thank god. And you’re right, it could’ve been a lot worst. But everyone is alive, and that’s the important part. You’ll all be out and breathing the fresh air soon, and it won’t be like this forever… Although it feels like it. But it wont.

Yeah, I know. I know. I'm already feeling ten times better than the first time I woke up - so, yeah. Everything will be fine.

Let's look at the bright side ... When they let me go back to school, I get to ride the elevators ... Um ... I get to try to bring beanies back into style. That's all I've got. Is it helping?

As long as she’s still here and allowed visitors, that’s good enough for me. Oh god, Micah, I bet they are — I’m surprised you’re even able to move, that…that bookcase — I’m not gonna talk about it, but Jesus. How you doin’, babe? Don’t worry, I’m just glad you’re feeling well enough to be up and about. I don’t know if I want to go to sleep again, or even be alone…flashbacks, y’know?

I'm not, really ... I just can't stand to lie in that bed and think about it all. I have to keep ... distracted, I guess. I think that I'm okay, considering. My ankle is fucked up, my back is fucked up, I cracked my head open, I've got bruises and cuts everywhere ... the worst part is the neurological damage ... like, my vision keeps getting blurry, I keep getting dizzy, they say that I'm going to have a lot of problems accessing my short-term memory and processing new information for awhile ... But, yeah. I'll stay with you for as long as I can before nurse Becca hunts me down.
