“Where? Like your hand? Your arm?”She asked before getting into position–squatting slightly as she held up her hands as fists which were slightly blocking her face as she moved to punch his arm.

“What?” Dylan narrowed his eyes at her, trying to hold back a laugh. “No, hit me where it would hurt. Like my face, stomach... groin.” He said nonchalantly with the slightest of smirks pulling on his lips. He got into the right position, getting ready to guard himself.

Someone probably locked it from the inside. You know, for a safety measure or whatever. Can I come in?

“Uh–how to concentrate on more than one thing, where to hit–stuff like that.”She said as she looked away from him once more recalling everything that Liam had taught her. “Not to get distracted.”

“Sounds useful.” Dylan mused with a small nod of his head, clearing his throat. “Right, yeah. Eliminate all distractions. We can start by you showing me what you’ve learned.” He said, getting into the right position as he stood in front of her. “Hit me.”

“Oh isn’t that a shame, what ever will people do. Yeah that’s what we have to look forward to, i mean if we make it for summer and can actually walk outside without being attacked. I’ll be sure to look out for your body.”

“I’m sure we will. It’s 2016, we have the resources to end this. But either way, look out for my body. It’ll be the highlight of your day.”

He paused momentarily, holding her stare and getting lost for a short moment before he shook his head. “Okay, so we should get started. What did you learn with Liam yesterday?”

What? Oh come on. No, I wasn’t scratched or bitten. I was taking a walk and I saw a bunch of Crooks up ahead. Which is why I asked if I could step inside for just a moment... for a teeny tiny moment.

“Yeah It’s like dodging people you once knew and saw everyday around town but now them not being themselves. No internet does suck, I’m actually missing it a lot.”

“I know right? And yeah, it really does suck. I can’t post any pictures on instagram showing of my body. But whatever, when the sun comes back out I’ll just start walking around shirtless.” He joked.

“I said we’re meeting in the gym -- oh right, did you take the safe way here?” He laughed, stepping into the room. He locked the door behind him. “Hi.”

She thought about it for a moment, she didn’t really think this would be the best idea after she felt all flustered around him but she knew in the long run it would be for the best. The more people she learned from the more strategies she would learn and the better chance she had at survival. “Tomorrow works for me, say around eight ish?”She asked as she liked to be up early anyway, “And wear a shirt.”She commented. 

“Yeah, that words.” Dylan agreed with a nod of his head. He was usually up early anyway, especially now since everything with the virus had been happening. He smirked, “Will do. Unless it gets hot.”

I mean, you could try. Don’t think you’ll get very far by tanning outside in the snow, though.

Why did she have to say strawberries? Why couldn’t she have talked about the green beans, there was nothing sexy about green beans. “Will you just stop, maybe it took a while for my body’s reactions to catch up or something.”She quickly quipped but she knew how stupid that sounded. “Well you weren’t around,  I had no idea you were out here being farmer John.”She said before finally daring to look at him once more.

Dylan held both his hands up in surrender, “Okay, okay. I’m stopping.” He said, before he let out a laugh at her comment. “I thought they could do with some help around here.” He shrugged, “But if you’re still up for it, I could train you tomorrow?”
