Marcus/Fegan : Will you take care of me?
Marcus’ gaze fell from Fegan to the young boy that was standing beside him. His eyebrows came together in confusion as he looked back and forth between the two of them. He needed to break the tension between them, Fegan looked like he was going to be sick and Marcus really couldn’t handle that. “What were you pregnant?” he asked, his eyes casting down to the small child standing between them. He had read somewhere that women used to have to go away for an extended period of time if they had an embarrassing pregnancy. Then they would have the child and come back, without the child. “I always had a feeling you were really a girl.”
The silence that stretched between them even made Marcus uncomfortable. Closing his eyes, his head laid back on the pillow. It wasn’t the best pillow he ever had, but then again he had slept on worse. “What does it look like happened?” he asked, sarcastically. “I got stabbed by some idiot. Guess they didn’t feel like paying.”
Fegan squinted his eyes, he bit the inside of his cheek. Looking at Benjy. He stayed quiet for a minute before shaking his head. "I wasn' pregnant I've only been gone for a few months Marcus..." He furrowed his eyebrows and stepped a bit into the room. Looking over Marcus, laying there weak in bed. He cringed at the feeling that over took him. Guilt. He couldn't stand to see his friend like this, the one who was always strong, always protecting him, and now that he needed protection Fegan was no where to be seen. It broke his heart.
Fegan nodded his head slowly, showing that he understood not that it would take the vinegar out of Marcus' words. Fegan sighed to himself. He wanted to tell him to be careful, he wanted to smack some sense into his friend. "...Are you- Kerria is worried about you." He finally pushed out something productive.
