Ok, that’s it, I refuse to believe this isn’t real. This was not filmed in some forest in Louisiana or whatever, this IS Hell Creek. I knew they had a time machine, I knew it I knew it!

It’s real, these are real, they filmed real T. rexes. There is no other explanation, I feel like I could reach out and touch them. They’re absolutely beautiful.

The aesthetics man! I’m sorry for gushing so much but oh god it’s so good, very Phil Tippet esc. Even if it’s in every dinodoc, something about a T. rex hunt just gets the kid in me excited, y'know? Plus, showing T. rex as an intelligent hunter IS subversive given how annoyingly pervasive the scavenger theory is.

the decrease in costuming quality over the last 20 years has been soooo precipitous & nauseating. i’m not even talking abt marvel’s cg supersuits or anything this time, look at the fabric quality, structure, layering, character, and craftsmanship of older costumes in 102 dalmations (2000) vs cruella (2021)

this trend should upset you not just because it looks cheap, but because it suggests a strong anti-art and anti-labor movement in film and tv making. don’t forget costumers are unionized

WHAT DID THEY DO TO HIM

I made a little more unique Halloween costume for myself last year. 🎃

I spent about a week working on my own Sauron helmet, based on the wonderful design used in the new line cinema films. I was also wearing the one ring, although it's hardly visible on my gloved finger.

I made it from cardboard plates that I cut out and glued/taped together around a white cardboard mask I bought. Just to have something to build around. Then I used cardboard mache to add more details and glue it all more together. Before I spray painted it and painted the runes with gold paint.

The beer I am holding in the second picture is a wordplay, it's called "Ringnes" Which is basically the same name as the Norwegian translation of The Lord of the Rings. Or "Ringenes Herre" as we call the book here. Ringenes Herre drikker Ringnes, or the Lord of the rings is drinking rings beer. 

It was fun to walk the some streets of the main city of Norway for a little while wearing this. 

I should probably make the shoulder pads for next Halloween..
